The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 84

Felicity POV.

Kyle took a vote, and 15 people chose to return to the subsidiary with him and Adrian, while only 7, including me and Maximus, chose to continue the journey with him towards his castle.

But then, something unexpected happened. When the 4 people out of 5 who had voted to continue the journey with Maximus saw they were few, they sided with Kyle and Adrian. Suddenly, Maximus, me and our baby were left with just Ava. Adrian was the first to speak up, a smug smile on his face. "Descartes always said, common sense is the best shared thing in the world," he said, looking over at Kyle. "And it seems the majority of our friends have chosen us." Kyle then turned to me, a concerned look on his face. "Are you sure you want to continue with Maximus, Felicity?" he asked.

I didn't hesitate for a second. "Yes, I'm sure," I replied firmly.

Ava looked at me with pity in her eyes, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. She had been my best friend for a year now, but our relationship had been strained ever since I found out she had been keeping such a secret from me.

As Kyle and Adrian turned to leave, I turned to Ava. "You should go with them," I said, my voice cold. "I'm not ready to forgive you just yet."

With a small nod, Ava followed Kyle and Adrian, leaving Maximus, our baby, and me alone on the road. It was a lonely feeling, but I knew in my heart that I had made the right decision.

"Ava, can you ask Kyle to leave us the majority of the supplies? He has them in his bag," I said.

"No! I don't want to give away all the provisions. I need them too," Kyle replied.

"Kyle, they have a baby with them. They really need these supplies. Please, think about it," Ava said.

After some back and forth, Kyle finally gave in. "Okay, fine. You can have the majority of the supplies, but I'm keeping some for myself," he grumbled.

As they left in the night and the fog, Maximus, our baby, and I were left alone with our horse. We looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

Maximus broke the silence. "Let's find a secluded spot and rest for the night."

We found a clearing and laid out some clothes on the ground for a makeshift bed. Maximus held me in his arms as we settled in for the night with our baby in the middle.

As we lay there, I couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness that crept within me. It seemed like I had lost some of my friends in this battle, but deep down, I knew that staying true to myself and my beliefs was the only way to move forward. I turned to Maximus and whispered, "I'm sorry for what they have said, now we are just two."

"Don't be sorry, my love. They made their choice, and we made ours," Maximus replied, holding me securely in his arms.

"I love you, Maximus," I said, feeling the warmth of his embrace.

"I love you too, Felicity," he replied. "And I promise to protect you and our baby, no matter what."

"I miss them already, Maximus. I hope they're okay," I said, sighing heavily.

Maximus gave me a reassuring squeeze. "They'll be fine, Felicity. We'll all get through this together. We may not have much, but we have each other and our determination to survive."

I smiled faintly at his words and kissed him on the cheek. "I'm grateful for you, Maximus. You always know what to say to calm my worries."

Maximus chuckled softly. "It's my duty as your husband my queen. Now, let's get some rest. We have a long journey ahead of us."

I closed my eyes, feeling the weight lift off my shoulders as I drifted off to sleep. The love and support of the man lying next to me was all I needed to feel safe and content. The trust I had in him was unbreakable, and I couldn't imagine going through life without him by my side. As I fell deeper into a peaceful slumber, I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me for everything he had done for me.

Early in the morning, we woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sun peeking through the trees. Maximus looked at me and smiled. "Good morning, my love."

"Good morning," I replied, nuzzling my face into his chest. "I can't believe we're on this adventure together."

Maximus chuckled and leaned in to kiss me. "Neither can I, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else with anyone else." He then turned his attention to our baby who was cooing and grabbing at his fingers. "Good morning to you too, little one."

As we sat there, savoring the peaceful moment, I remembered something. "Do you think we should check the supplies?"

Maximus nodded, "Yes, let's make sure we have everything we need." He got up and went over to our horse, grabbing the bags that we had brought. He began to rummage through them, inspecting each item carefully.

After a few minutes, he looked up at me with a frown. "Ava and Kyle didn't give us everything they had promised."

"What do you mean?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease.

"We're missing some crucial things like water and medicine," Maximus replied, his voice filled with frustration. "We can't survive long without those."

I didn't know what to do. "Should we go after them and demand they give us some supplies?"

Maximus shook his head. "No, we can't risk putting ourselves and our baby in danger by going after them. We'll have to make do with what we have. And we'll have to find a way to replenish our supplies as soon as possible." We sat there in silence, contemplating our next move. Suddenly, Maximus spoke up. "We may be short on supplies, but we have each other. And that's enough to get us through anything."

I smiled, feeling a sense of comfort wash over me. "You're right, we'll face whatever challenges come our way together."

With that, we packed up our meager supplies.

As we packed up our meager supplies, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread at what lay ahead. But Maximus's reassuring smile made me feel slightly better.

Suddenly, we heard footsteps and raised voices coming towards us. My heart raced as fear coursed through my veins. Maximus, however, seemed relaxed. He was still the Lycan king and was not afraid of anything. "Quick, Felicity," Maximus whispered urgently, "hide behind that tree with our baby. I'll handle these people."

I did as he asked and watched as he transformed into his majestic wolf form. My heart swelled with love and admiration for him.

As the group approached, Maximus launched himself at them, fierce and unyielding. He easily took down a few of them before suddenly stopping.

"What's going on?" I whispered, terrified.
