The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 42

Maximus

POV:

I was lounging on my throne, which was made of the finest carved wood, I was going through reports from my various clan leaders when Titus, my trusted Head enforcer, barged into my chambers.

I could feel the tension rising in the room as Titus approached me. As the head enforcer of the Lycan King, he rarely had any good news for me, and today was no exception.

Titus entered the throne room and made his way towards me with an urgent look on his face.

"Your Majesty," he greeted me with a bow, "We have news from the frontlines."

I sighed inwardly and gestured for him to continue.

"I come bearing news of a battle between two alphas." He said. "A battle has taken place between Alpha Malachi and Alpha Zander," he explained.

I raised an eyebrow. "And why should I care about their petty squabbles?"

"And...Zander has been killed." Titus replied grimly.

I felt a cold chill run down my spine.

I raised an eyebrow, "What happened? Why were they fighting? Was it over space?"

Titus grimaced, "No, Your Highness," Titus said, shaking his head. "It's a woman, Your Majesty. A Breeder and her baby. Zander wanted to take them from Malachi."

"A Breeder?" He repeated, as if to be sure.

"Yes, my King, "he replied solemnly.

My heart raced at the mention of the word 'Breeder.' Not only did it remind me of Felicity, my stubborn Breeder who had run away.

Was she a Breeder like Felicity? Had she leaked like Felicity had? My mind raced with questions, but I couldn't ask them in front of Titus.

"Where is this woman now?" I demanded.

"She's on the run, Your Majesty," Titus replied, "And with Malachi and many other Alphas after her. The word spread quickly, and now it has become a matter of pride and space. Many Lycans are willing to risk their lives for the woman, and you can bet that this is only the beginning," Titus said gravely.

He was already considering his options but wasn't sure of what to do.

"Should we send a party to investigate?" I asked, trying to keep my tone even.

"I believe it would be best if you went alone, Your Highness," Titus said calmly.

I frowned. "Why alone? Is there something you're not telling me, Titus?"

He met my gaze evenly. "I simply think it would be best if you saw the situation for yourself, Your Highness."

"I can't leave my kingdom in this state, especially with a traitor among us," I said, my voice laced with concern.

Titus placed a hand on my shoulder, "I will take charge and keep things in check. But you must go there alone, Your Majesty. This woman and her baby could be useful to us. And who knows, maybe we can capture her and keep her as our own."

I hesitated, unsure of what to do."I cannot leave the kingdom unguarded."

"I understand, but you must see the scene for yourself. It's a bloody mess, and the Breeder is still out there, getting closer to one of your enemies every second," Titus said convincingly.

I studied him for a moment, trying to read his expression. But he was always difficult to read, even for me. Finally, I nodded.

I considered Titus's words. I knew that Titus was a loyal enforcer, but I was unsure if I could trust him entirely.

"Why should I trust you?" I asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

Titus was ready for this question. "My King, I know what you think, but I swear on my life that I have been nothing but faithful to you and this pack. If you think I am a traitor, you can have me executed. But first, please go and see the aftermath of the battle. You will understand the severity of the situation, and I promise, I will not leave your side.Or, then, I will gladly step down from my position and give someone else the chance to prove their loyalty."

I took a deep breath and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I trust you, Titus. You have served this pack well over the years. Thank you for your suggestions.

"OK your highness! But consider it!" he said.

I frowned, but his words rang true. I could use that woman for my use.

I stood up with determination,

"Very well, I will go, I will go and see the scene for myself." I said. "But be sure to have a party ready in case of trouble."

Titus nodded, "Of course, Your Highness,"I will inform the others of your decision. Be careful, Your Majesty." Titus said with a small bow. "I will prepare accordingly."

I nodded, and with a deep sigh, I made my way towards the battlefield where the bloody mess had occurred. I left on horseback and the journey took about five hours to the territory of Alpha Malachi.

As I arrived, the smell of blood and death filled my nose, there was so much loss. I walked through the wreckage, scanning the area for any signs of the mysterious woman.

The battle scene was littered with the bodies of dead men and the stench of death was overwhelming. As I looked around, taking it all in, I spotted a man who was not yet dead but seriously injured. I quickly made my way over to him. "Where is the girl? The one who caused all of this?" I asked him urgently, hoping he could give me some answers.

The man coughed up blood before managing to choke out a weak response. "I don't know. She was too fast for us."

I was furious. This man could have told me something useful but instead he was playing games. "You don't know? That's the best you can give me?" I shook him, trying to force a response out of him.

But it was too late. He had already taken his last breath. I was left standing there, angry and confused. What was I going to do now? The girl had to be found before she caused any more destruction.

I continued my search, scanning all the area.

Suddenly, I noticed something glinting in the distance. I picked up my pace and as I got closer, I realized it was a bracelet lying on the ground. It was the same one I had given to Felicity on our wedding day.

I couldn't believe my eyes as I stared at Felicity's bracelet lying on the ground. How did it get here? Was she really here? My mind raced with questions as I picked up the small piece of jewelry and studied it closely. I didn't believe my eyes, I was still looking at the bracelet, shocked.

"How did the bracelet get here? What was Felicity doing here?" I wondered suspiciously.

Suddenly an idea crossed my mind.

"Could it be possible that she's that famous woman?"
