Chapter 107

POV.

"I can't see anything clearly, everything is blurry," I said in a muffled voice.

"Can you hear me?" a distant voice asked.

I strained to listen, but it was too faint.

Suddenly, my mother appeared in front of me. "Mom!" I cried out with relief.

She turned around, and as I laid eyes on her, I was overwhelmed by her beauty. She was dressed in a light flowery dress, barefoot, and her blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders. "M-mom?" I called out, my voice shaky.

"You're doing great, just hang in there," a distant voice said.

I started running towards my mother.

But as I got closer, she said, "Stop walking, don't follow me."My mom whispered.

But I couldn't help myself. I wanted to touch her, to feel her presence.

Tears streamed down my face as I desperately pleaded, "But I want to touch you, I've missed you so much!"

As I ran towards her again, the distant voices became louder and more urgent and my mother faded away.

"Can you hear us?" They called out.

I blinked, and suddenly my friends' faces came into focus. They were all smiling at me with tears in their eyes.

"You're awake," Ava said with relief as she took my hand, which was connected to a perfusion.

I groaned and looked around the room, a headache pounding in my temples. "Where am I?" I asked weakly, feeling confused.

"In the hospital," she replied, her voice tender and gentle.

"You had been in a coma for six days," she continued, her eyes filling up with tears once again.

I looked down at my body, which was connected to several machines and devices, and the reality of it all hit me hard.

I was shocked, and despite the pain in my head, I tried to sit up. Kyle, my brother, stopped me, taking my hand in his tears streaming down his face. "I love you, sis," he whispered.

"I love you too brother," I said to him tears welling up in my eyes.

I couldn't hold back any longer; I needed to know the whereabouts of maximus and my baby. "Where are Phoenix and Maximus?" I asked, my voice shaking a little.

There was a palpable sadness in the air as everyone in the room looked at each other. I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach; something was wrong, very wrong.

"Please, someone tell me where they are," I begged, my voice a little louder this time.

"Phoenix is fine and in the room next to yours," Kyle, spoke up.

I breathed a sigh of relief, but deep down, I knew that something was amiss. "And what about Maximus?" I asked again, my voice trembling.

Kim, held my hand and spoke, tears glistening in her eyes. "Maximus...he's...he's dead," she said.

The world around me froze, and my heart shattered into a million pieces. I screamed, thrashing around, unable to accept this reality.

The room erupted into chaos as they tried to calm me down. Ava, Marcus's sister, quickly called the kingdom's doctor for assistance. He rushed in and injected me with tranquilizers, bringing a temporary halt to my frenzied movements. But the pain was still there, raw and unrelenting. I needed answers, and I needed them now.

"Tell me, tell me what happened, I want to know everything! I need answers, and I need them now," I pleaded with Ava.

Her voice shaking, Ava explained, "During the party, a child entered the room with a bomb and activated it. It was Melezo plot all along. The bomb caused casualties, including Maximus, Mr. Jacobs and Titus."

My heart sank as I choked back sobs. "Maximus? My love?"

"Yes, I'm sorry," Ava said with a sympathetic tone. "Additionally, the food was poisoned by another agent of Melezo's, which affected your liver and that of your baby."

I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. "I can't... I can't believe this is happening."

The tears flowed relentlessly as I tried to process the devastation. Maximus, my love, had been taken away from me forever. My heart ached with a pain I had never known.

In the midst of my grief,, Ella a member of L.O.J entered the room and rushed to my side, embracing me in a tight hug. "I'm so sorry, my friend. We'll get through this together," she whispered through her own tears.

She enveloped me in a tight hug, her own tears mingling with mine. We shared a few moments of solace, exchanging whispers amidst our sobs.

"How... how is the kingdom?" I managed to ask.

"It's chaos and disorder since Maximus' death," Kim replied with a heavy heart.

"I can't believe Maximus is gone," I said, still trying to process the news. "What did you do with his body?"

"We buried him two days ago," Kyle answered solemnly.

My heart sank even further. "He was my rock. My ally. The love of my life," I murmured.

Kim nodded in understanding. "I know. It's a difficult time for all of us."

"Have you heard anything about Melezo?" I asked.

"Not yet," she replied.

I still couldn't believe it. Maximus was gone, and Melezo was still out there, plotting his next move.

As if on cue, a thunderous roar echoed from outside., a loud roar interrupted our conversation. They rushed to the window to see.

"It's Melezo and his army, they are approaching.

Suddenly, Melezo's thunderous voice boomed through loudspeakers. "All men must bow down to me and accept my rule," he declared. "I have united armies from other territories, and I will not hesitate to kill anyone who stands in my way." "I am the new king," he declared over the loudspeakers. "Bow down or die."

The sound of explosions filled the air as Melezo's army attacked the hospital.

The hospital shook as his armies attacked, and I could hear screams and cries of agony all around us.

Terrified, we huddled together, wondering what we were going to do.

We were trapped, with nowhere to go and no way to fight back. The fate of our kingdom was uncertain, and we were at the mercy of a madman.

Ava and Kyle tried to protect me and my baby, but I felt helpless and scared. As I held on tight to my baby that Kyle had gone to take, I realized that our lives would never be the same again. The future of our kingdom was uncertain, and the only thing that mattered was survival. The thought of losing everything we had ever known filled me with dread. I closed my eyes and prayed for a miracle, but deep down, I knew that our fate was sealed.

I knew that our future was bleak. We were facing our darkest hour, and I didn't know if we would survive it.

We were at the mercy of Melezo, and he had no mercy.

What would happen next? How could we possibly defeat Melezo and restore peace to the kingdom?
