The Lost Alpha Princess by Riley Above Story

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

With more and more people staring at us, Victor, and the expensive sports car, Amy became uncomfortable too. After I introduced her to Victor, she quickly found an excuse and went home.

After she was out of sight, pulled Victor aside. “What are you doing here?” I asked and realized I wasn’t stuttering again.

I was still jumpy and nervous from everything that happened lately, but something about Victor made it easier for me to speak around him.

“I’m here to pick up my gorgeous fiancée from school,” Victor said with a boyish grin that made me smile.

“Aren’t you glad to see me?” he asked, his grin widening. “Look how jealous your classmates are of you. No other girl at this school has an incredibly hot guy in a Ferrari picking them up.

“I’m so lucky,” I said, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

Victor took my hand and k*ssed it. “Come with me, dear Daisy, and I’ll show you how lucky you are.” He looked at me, waggled his eyebrows, and smiled into my eyes.

I pulled my hand out of his grasp and wiped it on my jeans. “Don’t do that,” I said, my face flushing with embarrassment.

Suddenly, I heard a male voice calling Victor’s name. We turned and saw William jogging our way.

“Hey, Victor,” William said when he reached us. “How are you?”

Victor gave me another smile. “Things are looking good, William. How are you?”

“Were you looking for me?” William asked. “I was on my way to practice.”

“Not this time,” Victor replied. “But it’s nice to see you. I spoke to your father last week. He told me your team is doing great with you as the quarterback. Good job!”

William looked down at the ground and pushed a stone around with his foot. “Thanks. I try to do my best for the team.“.

My face flushed bright red, William and Victor know each other! It was just my my supposed ‘fiancé‘ knew the guy I was crushing on.

Victor looked at me curiously. “William, do you know Daisy?”

“No,” William replied. He barely glanced at me and turned back to Victor.

I froze, humiliation washing over me.

William didn’t know me at all, even though we’ve had classes together since eighth grade. And didn’t he remember me from the time he saved me from dying alongside the road.

How stupid of me to think I had a chance with him. I bit my l*p and blinked back the tears that stung my eyes.

“Don’t you

have classes with William?” Victor asked me. He was still watching me.

I nodded. “Wah we ha… have werewolf hist… history cah… class together,” I stammered as my heart pounded.

‘Oh. I don’t remember seeing you in class. What’s your name?” William asked me.

William was in all my daydreams, yet he didn’t even know my name!

“This is Daisy Wilson,” Victor said. “She’s Alex Wilson’s daughter, and I must get her home.” He shook William’s hand. “Nice to see you, William.” He opened the Ferrari’s passenger door for me.

“But my father’s chauffeur is waiting down the street for me,” I said, watching William hurry to football practice.

“The chauffeur was told I would be picking you up.” Victor gave me his hand as I slid into the car. Then he closed the door and climbed into the driver’s seat. His serious expression was on his face again.

Victor was silent on the drive home. He concentrated on the road and expertly maneuvered the Ferrari around every curve

Racing down the road in the S*xy sports car was fun, but the brief conversation with William flashed through my mind. William would never be attracted to a plain girl like me who stuttered,

But even if I could speak clearly around him, I was terrible at conversations and never had anything clever to say. I needed to practice talking to people. I had to do better in case there was a next time.

William was the man of my dreams. But, so far, he hasn’t seen me at all. I was the invisible girl to popular guys like him.

At least Victor didn’t mention anything about my being his fiancé. Even if everyone heard that from the news already, it would be a different story if our engagement was publicly announced.

I should make sure that doesn’t happen.

Chapter 12

Victor turned into the driveway to my father’s mansion and let the Ferrari glide to the house. At the front entrance, he turned off the engine and opened his car door. I put a hand on his arm to stop him from getting out of the car.

“Victor, I meant it when I said I didn’t want to marry you,” I said. “There are times when you’re kind of nice, but we could never be more than friends.”

Victor stared deeply into my eyes.

“Do you have a crush on William?” he asked. He was more perceptive than I thought.

“Nah…

nah

no!” I sputtered, but my stutter and crimson cheeks told Victor the truth. “I didn’t suh… say anything about William.”

Victor smiled at my reaction. “Daisy, my dear, William doesn’t know you exist.”

He was right. William didn’t know me or remember how he saved my life. I was about to burst into tears, so I opened the car door, ready to run to my bedroom and have a good cry.

Knowing William has never noticed me at all was the most painful part of what had been a terrible day.

It was Victor’s turn to stop me from getting out of the car. “There are ways to make you much more interesting to a guy like Williamn,” he said. “I could help you get hist attention and dazzle him.”

“How?” I asked.

“You know I want to be the next leader of The United Association of Alphas,” Victor said. “And the werewolf population needs me.”

Ugh. This again. “How would marrying you help me attract William?” I asked. Victor would say anything to further his ambitions.

“If you help me, I’ll help you,” Victor said, a smile blooming on his face again.

I still don’t understand.” I had to be careful. Victor would say anything to get what he wanted.

“If you go

along with a fake engagement, I will help you become the type of woman William wants,” Victor said. “And I’ll make sure he notices you.”

“A fake engagement,” I repeated. Victor’s plan was intriguing. “What if my father insists

before he dies? We would be stuck with each other.”

we marry

“He won’t,” Victor assured me. “You’re still in high school and have college ahead of you. Your father loves you too much to force you into a wedding ceremony until you’re

ready.”

“I promise if you pretend to be my fiancé. I will help you get William for your lover.” Victor said. He was smiling, but his eyes were cold and intense. Victor didn’t love me, so I assumed it was his ambition on full display.

“What do you say, Daisy?” Victor asked. “Having William for your lover would make you happy, right?”
