Chapter 10
Chapter 10
I stood in my new bedroom the following day dressed in a fluffy bathrobe. I didn’t know what to do after discovering the maids had left my old shirts and jeans at my adoptive parents‘ house. I had the debit card, but I had nothing to wear except the robe. And school started in an hour.
I pushed the button near my headboard. Maybe I could borrow jeans and a shirt from one of the maids. The youngest maid looked about my size.
But when an older maid arrived, she asked me to choose something from the closet.
She opened the closet door, and pulled out a dress. It was made from a soft blue, shimmering fabric with a famous designer label.
“Everything in this closet was chosen for you,” the maid told me. “It should all fit. Wear whatever you like. And let me know if you don’t like any of them, I will remove those for you later.”
“Oh…Okay. I like them all,” I answered as quickly as I could. I was afraid that she would throw all these clothes away if I expressed any dislike. What a waste!
I looked through the closet. Most of the items were expensive dresses. They were highly fashionable, but I was going to high school. this morning, not a ball at the country club.
After almost giving up on going to school that morning, I found a dark pink dress that wasn’t as tight and revealing or as expensive looking as the others. The dress still highlighted my breasts and hips more than I preferred. But it was my best option.
Before I was dressed, breakfast was delivered to my room. The serving cart was loaded with dishes of scrambled eggs, stewed tomatoes, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, hash browns, croissants, toast, jellies, tea, coffee, and juice..
The maid who helped me get dressed stood right next to the cart. She seemed like a reliable person.
“May I ask your name?” I asked.
“Of course, Miss. You can call me Jennifer. Benson sent me here to take care of things in your daily life,” she answered politely.
“I can’t eat all of this, Jennifer,” I said. “It would help if you shared it with me. It looks. too good to let it go to waste. Pull up the other chair and sit down.”
Jennifer looked horrified. “Oh, no, Miss,” she said, her eyes wide. “I would be fired if I did that. But thank you for offering.” She gave me a big smile.

I couldn’t help but sigh.
After I finished my breakfast, Jennifer told me that the car was ready to take me to school.
“Should I say goodbye to Alex before I go?” I asked, it was my first day here.
“Mr. Wilson is still resting. He sleeps more than usual lately,” Jennifer answered.
Right, Alex needed more rest now, but I didn’t know what I should do to help. I wasn’t around him until yesterday and I knew nothing about his life, his job, or basically anything about him.
Plus I was still struggling with changes in my own life.
I could only silently pray to the Moon Goddess for Alex in my mind.
When I saw the limousine at the gate, I groaned. I didn’t want the other kids at school to stare at me. I would rather they all continue to ignore me. It was more peaceful.
However, this car and the chauffeur might receive way too much attention. So I asked the driver to stop a block away from the school, and I climbed out of the car.
“Thank you,” I said to the chauffeur. “You can pick me up here after school.”
When I arrived at the school gate, I found Amy waiting for me. She looked at my new outfit and giggled. “That dress had to cost a fortune,” she said as she touched the sleeve. “The fabric feels terrific. Daisy, I know you’d never act like a greedy Alpha, but you seem different from yesterday morning.”
I shrugged. “I’m still just Daisy.” I linked arms with her. “Come on, or we’ll be late for class.”
I grew self–conscious when I received stares and whispers as I walked through the school.
“Don’t worry about them,” Amy whispered. “It’s a surprise to see you, who is usually low–key and inconspicuous, wearing a designer dress like this one. But they’ll get over it. The dress really compliments your b*dy shape, Daisy. I don’t blame the other kids for staring.”
This was the first time I faced this much attention at school. And it was embarrassing when the Principal, Mr. Jones, didn’t know me.
“Is she a new transfer student?” He asked a teacher. “I haven’t seen her before.”
I blushed and quickly walked away.

Chapter 101
I went to my first class of the day. It was my favorite werewolf history class. Bella, the typical mean girl in the school, was discussing new fashion trends with her followers. She laughed and pointed at me when she saw what I was wearing.
I blushed and sat at a corner desk, hoping she would forget about me. Thankfully, Bella’s attention was diverted when William, the hunky Alpha and the quarterback for the school football team, walked in at the door.
My heart started beating wildly at the sight of William. I couldn’t stop staring at him. I’ve had a crush on William for a long time. Not because he’s a star on the football team. or because he comes from a wealthy Alpha family.
One day in junior high school, I stayed up late reading a novel. The next morning, I had to rush to my part–time job at a coffee shop without having breakfast. I hadn’t eaten much supper the previous night either. As a result, I passed out on the road due to hypoglycemia.
I remember a royal blue sports car stopping next to me. But I was barely conscious when the driver of the car got out, picked me up, and took me to the hospital. I remember the license plate number and how safe I felt as he carried me in his arms.
When I woke up in the hospital, there was a bag of beautifully packaged candies beside me. It was rare for anyone to be that kind to me, so I asked the nurse where the candy
came from.
The nurse told me it was the same handsome guy who brought me to the hospital. He left after they told him I’d passed out from low blood sugar, and he soon returned with the candy. After the doctor assured him I would be okay, he left again.
I only ate one piece of that candy, but every time I held it in my hand, my heart. pounded, and I felt giddy. I often daydreamed about the mystery man in the blue car coming to Cecilia and Andrew’s house to take me away to a beautiful place.
Then during the first part of this school year, I saw the car parked near the gate to the school. And William walked to the car! It wasn’t the more sensible black Audi that William usually drove, but it had to mean William was the man who saved me and then. brought me candy!
But William was popular and was always surrounded by his friends and other kids who wanted to be his friend. I didn’t dare talk to him or get too close.
Although I was afraid of Alpha popular kids in school, William always seemed detached from the crowd he attracted. Maybe he is different.
I sighed and opened my textbook. I could never even get close to a guy like him.
love my History of Werewolves class, and I get excellent grades. But today, the course.

was a disaster. At the beginning of class, the teacher held up my essay from last week, praising the paper for its depth and content.
At first, I was pleased. I looked across the room at William, hoping to get a look of approval, but he never looked up from his paper.
Then my day got worse fast when the teacher told the other students they should work harder to get good grades like mine. I cringed at the grumbling and nasty looks thrown my way. But the teacher didn’t stop there.
“You all need to try a little harder to learn your lessons, like Daisy,” she said while giving me a beaming smile. “Did you hear me, Bella? Instead of worrying about what everyone is wearing, you should ask Daisy to tutor you before you fail this class.”
Bella looked at me with hate in her eyes. The intensity of her glare was a little scary. So, I quickly looked away and lowered my head. The teacher continued with our lesson, and everything seemed normal again.
But when I went to the bathroom before my next class, I ran into Bella and her followers. They stared at me and whispered to each other behind their hands.
The atmosphere in the bathroom quickly turned ominous, and I considered turning around and using a different bathroom. But I wasn’t fast enough. Bella and her gang of mean girls suddenly had me surrounded.
