The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 307

Chapter 307

Tanya frowned in displeasure.

"Maddie, you're going to have to agree to this regardless. Becky has already agreed on your behalf-"

"I don't agree," Madison softly interrupted Tanya.

In response to Tanya's shocked expression, she emphasized again, "I don't agree. I won't forgive either Megan's fans or the Robertsons." Tanya was speechless. Rebecca looked at Madison in surprise. "But Maddie, they had their reasons!"

Madison felt the powerful and vibrant spiritual energy within her. She slowly raised her gaze to meet Rebecca's eyes.

"Just because they had their reasons, does that mean they could crash my birthday party? Does it give them the right to attack me with a knife?"

Madison laughed lightly and looked at Tanya. "You placed a talisman for the birthday party, didn't you?"

Tanya froze, avoiding Madison's gaze. Rebecca lowered her eyes as well.

Madison continued, "That talisman was to suppress the spiritual energy within me, right?"

Tanya opened her mouth to respond but couldn't find the words.

Harvey asked in confusion, "What talisman? What do you mean it suppresses your spiritual energy?"

"There was a talisman at the party, aimed specifically at me," Madison said.

Tanya quickly defended herself, saying, "It wasn't aimed at you. It's just that you always have those dirty things around you. I was worried they'd scare the guests at the party. That's why I put a talisman in place to keep them out. Plus, I was afraid you might let them out." She looked frustrated. "I didn't expect things to turn out that way."

At this point, Harvey began to piece together what had happened. Shocked, he turned to Rebecca. "Mom, who suggested placing the talisman?"

Tanya glanced at Rebecca and quickly looked away. "I thought of it myself. Don't blame Becky. She has nothing to do with it."

Harvey's expression was skeptical. He noticed Tanya's gaze shifting to Rebecca when he asked about it. Suddenly, he seemed to connect the dots. "Mom, this can't just be brushed aside." Tanya was taken aback.

"They broke into the Locke family and showed up at just the right moment to hurt Maddie. This was definitely planned, and..." Harvey paused for a moment, narrowing his sharp gaze at Rebecca. "There has to be a mole from within the Locke family who knew the details of the party."

That group of people was at the party for a while, yet they only chose to show up as it was winding down. He couldn't help but suspect that there might be some foul play in this.

"Harvey, what do you mean by that? Are you trying to pin this on me?" Rebecca cried, tears streaming down her face.

Harvey looked at the sobbing Rebecca and felt no sympathy at all. Just a moment ago, he had thought she was kind-hearted and naive, easily manipulated by the fans and the Robertsons. However, he was now beginning to connect the dots about what really happened. Even he, who usually took his time to process things, finally understood the situation. Along with his shock, he felt a deeper sense of heartache.

"I'm not saying it's you. I just think we can't let this go. We need to investigate thoroughly."

Rebecca fell silent.
