Jennie kept pacing up and down the parlor, her mum and sister tried to calm her down but all to no avail.

"Look Jennie, you can't let something like this destroy you. Step out and clear the misconception" Gwen said as a matter of fact.

"Do you think the public will listen to me now? The evidence is real, what should I do?" Jennie asked back, she was really short of ideas.

"Jennie, you have worked to bring that company to the height it is now, you can't just allow it to go down the drain. What will your father think of you?" Kathleen asked.

"Mum, right now I really don't care, I just want to find that person and make him or her pay for ruining my life like this"." Then you should do that, you think sitting here and crying over spilt milk will help?, No it won't" Gwen chipped in. "What should I do mother?". Jennie asked after a while. Her mother was her only hope now to come up with a good idea, even Rocky too has failed her.

"Accept the blame and make a special announcement".

"Why would I accept the blame mum and what kind of announcement".

"Just sincerely apologize to the public, a few drops of tears will not harm you. Then tell the public that because Teresa Martins saw your sincerity, she agreed to invest in your company again". The two girls looked at their mother in awe, was this woman really the devil in human form?

"But how will she make such an announcement when we don't even know who Teresa Martins is?" Gwen asked, she was not getting what her mom was planning. "That is why you have to secure a deal with her, I would have said Damian Martins but he is unapproachable so let's try the woman". Kathleen answered. "Mum, you are a genius, but should I make the announcement first before meeting her?".

"Of course, when you make the announcement, she won't be able to reject you, after all, she is a newbie In this city so she can't afford to offend the public". "Wow, I really envy you," Gwen said excitedly. "I know I am smart and one more thing, your father already signed the documents so I can help you with some of the money". "I love you so much mum" Jennie said and hugged her. Just then, Sabastian walked into the parlor, pretending not to see them, he made his way upstairs. "Don't tell me you don't know the public is criticizing your daughter?" Kathleen's words halted him.

"Is that so?" Sabastian asked, moving towards them," what did you do this time? He already knew everything but was feigning ignorance, since these people wanted to play him, he might as well play along

"Someone fabricated lies against me and released it on the internet" Jennie replied, she was hoping she could get her father's sympathy but the words she heard next shocked her. "So didn't you do what you are being accused of?". "Wilson, she is your daughter, why are you talking to her like that?. Don't you trust your own child?" Kathleen snapped angrily. "Like I have always told you Jennie, step down if you can't afford to be the CEO of the GoodLife agency". Saying that, he walked away leaving the three women. "Dad is acting strange, because usually he would have scolded Jennie for this but he didn't" Gwen said.

"It means your father still has a little faith in you so don't spoil the plan and turn this into your favor".

"I will not disappoint you mother" Jennie replied, grabbing her bag and her phone as she walked out of the house.

As soon as Sabastian entered his room, he quickly called Amy and told her everything the devil's had planned.

"Don't worry dad, just relax I will handle it" Amy replied from the other end and disconnected the call. By that time Damian was giving her a foot massage

"I didn't know you were this good hubby," she said teasingly.

"She's such a sweetheart," Teresa replied, smiling. "They will sort themselves out, don't worry. And meanwhile I have a surprise for you tornorrow". "What is it hubby?" She asked excitedly. " It is a surprise wife,so you have to wait for it". He couldn't tell her what the surprise was yet because after the face slap on Jennie tomorrow, he was going to surprise her too but for now she had to be oblivious of it.

"The last time you surprised me it was with Delvin, who have you caught this time?" She asked, feigning annoyance. He smiled at her cute behavior. " I didn't catch anyone babe, just wait for it okay".

"Okay hubby, I trust you". "That's my girl," he said teasingly and kissed her cheeks. "I suddenly want to have that special pasta you make hubby". He looked at her in surprise, she eats alot and never gained any weight, her body was just perfect." Then I will make it for you okay".

"Thanks baby" she kissed him on the lips and wanted to move back but he held her waist firmly and deepened the kiss. Her phone rang interrupting the special moment, Damian hissed angrily. It was Jemima calling.

Why is your assistant calling this late?". He wanted to turn off the phone but she stopped him.

"It might be important," she answered as she pressed the receive button.

"Yes Jemima,tell me".

"Sorry to bother you this late ma, I rushed out of the office today for work and left my bag inside and I know the security would not be around by now".

"It's okay, I will send someone with the keys in a while". "Thank you ma" Jemima said from the other end and disconnected the call." Hubby, call Rubby and ask him to fetch her bag".

"Okay" he replied and quickly called him, he wanted to get back to romancing his wife quickly. Luckily Rubby was still at the office and decided to go immediately.

"So wife, can we continue?". "Pasta Damian". "Okay okay" he replied sulking and walked out of the room.

Twenty minutes later, Jemima saw a car drive in front of her house and Rubby alighted from it. Her heart skipped a bit as she saw him, he was wearing a suit and looked handsome as usual. He could not be compared to the big boss but he could be counted among the handsome men in New York City." Thank you for bringing my bag for me Rubby" she said as she walked up to him and collected her bag "You are welcome" he replied in a deep masculine voice," I will get going then" he said and made to go but she stopped him.

"The weather is quite cold today, want to come in for a cup of coffee?" She asked.

"Okay" he replied after a while, part of him was happy that she stopped him. For several weeks now he had been thinking about her and this opportunity he would not let it pass. "Okay then" she replied and smiled as she quickly unlocked the door, they both entered. He nodded in approval seeing her house, it was small yet cozy and felt like home, she removed her jacket and headed to the kitchen. Rubby used that opportunity to walk around the house and felt satisfied, it suited her personality.

"Here is your coffee" she said as she walked into the parlor, she didn't know he was standing near and bumped into him, all the contents inside the cup spilled on his suit. "Oh my gosh, I am really sorry Rubby, I didn't know you were standing here" she said sincerely. "It's okay," he said. "Sorry, I will have it dry cleaned".

"No, don't worry about it".

"No I Insist, this is the first time you've come to my house and I was this clumsy, let me get it dry cleaned please. It will only take a few minutes". Seeing she was adamant on washing his suit, he gently removed it and gave it to her, her eyes caught his good looking biceps peeking out of the white long sleeved shirt he was wearing, right now he was looking sexy In her eyes.

"You look so good Rubby" she said and her eyes opened wide, she thought she had said it in her mind.

"What did you say?" He asked to be sure of what he heard.

"No, nothing" she replied and made to walk away but she lost her footing and almost fell but a pair of strong hands caught her immediately and it was Rubby. He could feel his heart beating fast as he held her slender waist in his hands, they were both lost in the beauty of each other's eyes.
