The Alpha’s Little Rogue (Alessia)

Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Daphne's POV He's here again.

He shows up every day at the same time unfailingly. He stays by the window and peeps into the class for a few minutes. Then he leaves. It's the same routine that has been going on for a few days now.

I know he sneaks in when the gates are opened up for parents to pick up their kids. The only thing stopping me from reporting him to the security guard is knowing that he's harmless. I highly doubt that our Alpha will bring in someone she views as a threat into the pack. That's the only reason I pretend not to notice the holes he keeps drilling into my back. Not anymore though.

I've exhausted my patience and today, I'm going to find out what his issue is.

I stand up, forcing myself not to look towards the window where I know he is. With a fake yawn, I start a path to the bathroom located at the side of the room and then abruptly turn around at the last second and race to the door.

I push open the door and rush out to find his back is turned to me a s he tries to hurry away.

"Wait," I call out, standing by the opened door and watching over the kids who haven't been picked up yet. I won't be able to do anything if he decides to run, but thankfully, he doesn't.

His back stiffens as he turns around slowly.

For a creep, he makes a handsome one. I push that thought away and try to focus on what's important here -which is definitely not his impressive build or great looks.

Clearing my throat to get rid of the frog stuck there, I start my interrogation. "What do you think you're doing?" It's a simple sentence that has a lot of weight and thankfully, he doesn't pretend not to understand what I'm referring to. He gives me a chagrined smile. "You noticed?"

It is hard not to notice a huge figure looming by the window every day. "You haven't exactly been slick," I deadpan.

He gives a nervous chuckle and reaches for the back of his neck.

"Will you believe me if I say I just love kids so much?"

I give him a dry look. I might not have any of the abilities that come with being a werewolf but I can smell bullshit from a mile away. "Try again."

He sighs heavily and walks back to me, stopping when there's a few feet between us. "I need to speak with you."

Confusion racks up within me. That sentence sounds so ominous and I can't wrap my head around why he would need to speak with me of al people. "About what?" I question, patting myself on the back for not sounding half as nerve-wracking as I feel. My words actually managed to come out even.

His lips part and I hold my breath. "We're-"

"Miss Daphne, I'm here to pick up Liam," a cheery voice says from behind me and I close my eyes as I hold in a groan.

Forcing a smile I definitely am not feeling onto my face, I turn around to meet the face of the person that just interrupted our conversation. It's Mrs Wilson.

On any other day or time, I would

have welcomed the presence of the lovely, kind lady standing in front of me. But all I can think about as she smiles brightly at me is how to get her out of here so I can hear the rest of Rapheal's sentence.

"Liam is all set up and ready for you," I inform, happy that Mrs. Wilson and her spawn will be out of here in the next few minutes.

I walk into the classroom and

towards the child in question. Liam finally pulls his attention away from the Legos he's fixated on and looks towards the door. At the sight of

mother, he leaps from the floo runs towards her, wrapping his chubby little hands around one of her legs because there's no way that he's going to be able to warp his arms around both legs. "Mama!" He calls out.

With a laugh, Mrs Wilson squats down in front of him so that they're the same height. She presses a soft kiss on his forehead. "How did my baby's day go."

While they are both getting reacquainted, I picked up his food bag and his school bag, and turn around only to run into a solid wall. Dazed, I trail my gaze up Raphael's body to his face to find him already looking down at me with a knowing smile on his stupidly perfect lips. "What are you doing in here?" I question, sounding breathless when I've done literally nothing. I back away from him to give myself some space for thinking. "Wanted to see if you need some help," he replies with a shrug.

I stop myself from giving and eyeroll. Out of the corner of my eyes, I see that Liam and his Mom are still occupied with each other.

Sidestepping Raphael, I head towards the duo standing by the door and hand over Liam's belongings to his mother.

They walk out of the room with Mrs Wilson closing the door behind her.

With a shaky breath, I turn around to find Raphael perched on one of the two adult-sized chairs in the room. The other one is beside him and he gives it a soft pat when he sees me

looking his way.

I start heading towards him and drag the seat beside him to his front. "What were you about to tell me?" I ask earnestly, anticipation rising with me.

Raphael's demeanor changes. He starts, "We're-" A pauses where he shakes his head, and tries again. Then fail to utter anything. He does this a few times with nothing coming out of his lips. Annoyed with him, I start contemplating how to get him away from here when he finally speaks.

"Date me," he whispers.

The words have the same effect of being drenched with a cold bucket of water. Did I just hear him correctly?
