Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love

Chapter 212 She Is Like A Hedgehog

"Forgot? Nancy, did you forget to go home?" Charles' heart ached, but somehow, he got angry when he saw how exhausted Nancy was.

They had been together for a while now, yet he still had no idea what Nancy truly felt.

"I didn't ask you to pick me up. It's you who came here. Why are you so angry? I can drive by myself. I have feet.

I can walk by myself! Who can't live without you? You are not that important. I tell you, Charles!" Unable to suppress her resentment, she lashed out on him without thinking.

It was rare for her to lose her temper, but right now she was so irritated with Charles.

She pushed him and stomped outside.

His eyes lowered in confusion. He had never seen Nancy lose his temper like this before.

Even if she lost her temper, she never behaved this way.

'What's wrong with her today? Why does she look like a firecracker?'

Charles didn't think he had said anything wrong.

What did he do to make her angry?

When did this woman become so sentimental?

With a sigh, he turned off the lights and locked the door before he followed Nancy outside.

At this time, Nancy had entered the elevator. She immediately pressed the close button without waiting for Charles. "Damn it!" He went crazy with anger when the door closed. He came to pick her up out of kindness, but was rejected. Why did he come here?

Charles hurriedly pressed another elevator, but when he came down, Nancy was already starting the car.

But somehow, it seemed that the whole world was against her that she couldn't start the car.

Out of frustration, she punched the steering wheel.

"Bang!" The steering wheel shook a little, but nothing happened.

However, tears fell down her face because of pain.

It was painful, but not enough to make her cry. It was really her heart that hurt the most.

Charles rushed to her. "Nancy, what the fuck are you doing? How can you harm yourself?"

It was the first time that he had scolded her like this.

He just felt sorry for this woman who hurt herself.

What happened? Couldn't she just tell him?

Why was she keeping it all to herself?

"Yes, I abuse myself. It's none of your business. I don't have anything to do with you. Go away, Charles. I tell you, I don't want to see you at all!" Nancy got out of the car and slammed the door. For the second time this day, she pushed him away and left. But this time, Charles grabbed her arm by instinct.

"Nancy, are you crazy?" His piercing eyes settled on her

face.

"Yes, I'm insane! Are you satisfied with my answer? Can you leave me alone now, Charles?"

What she said was hurtful, but she couldn't stop herself from saying it.

She was like an irritated hedgehog with thorns all over her body.

Regardless of what he was about to say, she would stab him.

Looking at the furious look on his face, she felt bad, but happy. The pain made her happy.

Finally, Charles realized that he couldn't talk it down to Nancy.

Therefore, he chose to act without saying anything.

Nancy screamed when he picked her up.

"Charles, let go of me!

You bastard, I hate you so much!" She was punching his chest but he didn't mind it.

The truth was, she didn't know who and what she hated. She just felt like her heart was filled with hatred towards everything.

If Charles didn't come, she might have succumbed to the darkness her office, and let herself gradually swallow the unbearable past and all kind of pressure recently.

Just like all the pain she had suffered in the past, she hid everything in her heart.

But when Charles came, it seemed that she had found an outlet. All her anger and grievance were thrown at him.

Without saying a word, Charles opened the door and threw Nancy in.

When Nancy was about to get out of the car, Charles had already sat in the driver's seat. He grabbed her hand, and when his eyes landed on the bruise on her hand, he got furious. "You just deserve it!" he shouted in anger, yet there was a hint of worry in his voice.

"I deserve it. Why do you still care about me?" she replied, with gritted teeth.

"For the children! Are you satisfied with this reason?" The longer he stared at her bruise, the more he felt sorry for it.

"Well, I know you don't love me. You just approached me for the sake of the children." It was against her will to say that. Charles' eyes darkened.

When their gazes locked, he asked, "Do you really think so?"

At this time, the resentment in Nancy's heart was beginning to subside.

She suddenly felt a little guilty when she saw the scowl in his face, so she burst into laughter and said, "Yes, that's what I think."

Her words were no longer like daggers.

She had managed to crack a joke.

Charles' anger naturally subsided.

This woman had finally come back to her senses.

"Tell me, what happened?" A while ago, she wasn't giving him a chance to ask.

But right now, he finally got the chance to voice out what was on his mind.

Nancy sighed, "I was in a bad mood this afternoon, so I was a little out of control."

"Why were you in a bad mood?" She was usually good at controlling her emotions, but she was strange today.

That was why he thought maybe something happened.

"The operation didn't go well this afternoon. It was delayed for an hour. I could have done it, but I don't know why. I feel guilty." As she spoke, the light in her eyes dimmed again. "It's really not right to cause pain to a child!"

The sadness in her eyes made Charles sigh, "You are a doctor. It's right for you to pursue perfection, but perfection doesn't exist in this world. The operation was successful, so you don't have to blame yourself anymore. If you keep on being like this, how can you work well?"

"Alas, the pressure is too much," said Nancy in a low voice.

Seeing that Nancy finally got back to her normal self, Charles started the car.

"Nancy, I finally know why Boyd is out of control. I guess he is under too much pressure just like you," said Charles.

With a sigh, she shook her head. "I don't think so. I think he was drugged."

This made him do a double take. "He was drugged?"

How dare someone drug a patient in the municipal hospital?

How ridiculous it was!

"Do you have any evidence? If you don't have evidence, you can't say these words." He glanced at Nancy, worried that she might be talking nonsense before she came to her senses.

But she insisted, "No. I went to check the surveillance video today. The staff said that the camera was broken last night and nothing was recorded."

"What?" His face turned serious. He intuitively felt that this was a little unusual.

What a coincidence!

How could the camera be broken just before Boyd had a relapse?
