Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love

Chapter 158 It's Definitely Not A Joke

Landon had just revealed something truly explosive. Everyone was flabbergasted by what they had just learned.

After a moment of pause, Winnie broke the silence with a shriek.

"Grandpa, you have got to be kidding. Right?"

'Shouldn't grandpa be on my side?' she thought. She believed that the man had no reason to allow the marriage of Jay and Doris.

Her mind was a mess. She couldn't think properly.

"Yeah, grandpa must be kidding!" Jennie seconded.

"Ahem!" Eric's face turned red due to fright. He patted his chest as he coughed and stammered, "Dad! Please don't make such absurd jokes again. I can't really bear them!"

"I'm not kidding. I'm serious," Landon said with conviction.

The old man's words made Jay uneasy.

Jay was just trying to get rid of Winnie, not to really marry Doris!

If he were to be honest, he had once considered it,

but everything happened so quickly.

And so Jay said, "Grandpa, marriage is a really big deal. Give me some time to think about it... Then, let's talk about it later!"

"What?" the old man exclaimed. Landon sported a long face as he said, "Now you have two choices. One is to marry Winnie as soon as possible. The other is to marry Doris. Which one do you choose?" "Of course, he'll choose Winnie!" Jennie and Eric spoke in unison.

"Well, if you agree to marry Doris, then I will give you ten percent of the Fang Group's shares. However, if you choose to marry Winnie, then I will give the shares to Doris!" Landon finally played his trump card. Strangely enough, the old man recalled the time when Doris got hurt for his sake. That was the point when he seemed to have chosen that woman to be Jay's wife.

Moreover, he felt that Doris was the kind of woman who could keep Jay in check!

Doris was clever and smart, unlike most girls from wealthy families-who were pretentious and superficial.

Naturally, Jay yearned for his grandfather's shares. So did Jennie and Eric.

"Grandpa, don't you like me?" Winnie was sobbing. She could not comprehend how an ordinary woman won Landon's approval; more so, over a lady of her stature. "Silly girl, of course I like you! But as the lady of the Fang family, I believe that Doris would be more suitable than you..." Landon said with utmost earnestness. "Grandpa!" Winnie began to weep.

Landon decisively shook his head. If it weren't for Doris, he wouldn't have turned Winnie down. Objectively speaking, Winnie really seemed childish when compared to Doris! "Grandpa, I promise to marry Doris tomorrow!" Jay decided after thinking for a while.

He wanted to resist Landon's will, but he knew that marrying Doris was for the best.

Doris, on the other hand...

She was truly dumbfounded.

She was utterly confused!

It seemed that no one cared what she thought of their marriage.

"Uncle! Auntie!" Winnie called Jay's parents out of despair.

Eric pretended not to hear her. Jennie, on the other hand, simply waved at her.

Winnie walked up to Jennie. The lady simply whispered, "Winnie, if you really want to be with him, just bear with it for a moment. Do you understand?"

"So, in the future... Will you help me, auntie?"

Doris asked. And so, Jennie slowly nodded.

It seemed that there was nothing Winnie could do. Clearly, everyone's interests were united.

Winnie knew she had to compromise.

Doris stared at Jay.

Up until that point, she was really uncertain with Landon's motives.

"What's wrong, Doris? Don't you agree?" Landon asked with a smile on his face.

"I... II agree, grandpa," Doris said somewhat uncertainly.

"OK. You have to promise me that you will be nice to Jay for the rest of your lives. And that you will be nice to everyone in the Fang family. Can you do that?" Landon profoundly stared at Doris. "Okay, I promise. But... But my leg is still injured. If we're to get married..."

Doris found an alibi to postpone her marriage.

She genuinely liked Jay, but deep inside she knew she was not ready.

"It's okay. You can sit on a wheelchair!" Jay answered back. He was truly in love with Doris.

Jay immediately took Doris to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a marriage certificate. Everything happened so fast. Doris actually thought that she was dreaming.

Nancy couldn't believe the news as well.

Doris and Jay's marriage did not make sense to her.

"Why?" Nancy asked.

All of a sudden, her progress with Charles seemed too slow. Nancy and Charles had been seeing each other for a longer time than those two, but they still hadn't got married. "Grandpa Landon wants me to have a child with Jay. And he said he will take care of my family..." Doris faltered.

Nancy's face turned pale.

It reminded Nancy of the same mishap she did five years ago.

Nancy was really worried that Doris would suffer the same fate. So she reminded her, "Doris, marriage is not a game. Think it over!"

"Well, anyway, I got married. Talk to you later! I need to go." Doris hung up.

Nancy stared blankly at her phone.

She did not know how to feel.

At that moment, Charles came back with the two children.

As soon as the kids saw Nancy, they rushed towards her and shouted, "Mommy, we're back!"

Those two children really loved her company.

Charles was so delighted to see them together.

He went straight into the kitchen to prepare their dinner.

Ever since Nancy set up the Second Pediatric Department, Charles had taken over the responsibilities in the household.

As soon as he stepped into the kitchen, he received a phone call from Joseph. The guy said, "Brother, are you living with Nancy?"

"I am no longer home. You can do now do as you please. Aren't you happy?" Charles said coldly.

Joseph sighed heavily and said, "No, I feel bored after Dorothy was taken away. My brother, she did not know better. There is no need to lock her up. How about you release her?"

"Let her go? Then what? Let her hurt Nancy once again?" Charles was furious.

"She is just jealous, you know? She didn't murder anyone!" Joseph muttered.

"That's right, Charles. I have to say something about this matter. Dorothy grew up with you, so you have to understand her. Drew has already called me several times. He is really determined to find his only daughter. Anyway, let her go..." Angelina said.

With a cold face, Charles opted to stay silent.

Frederic flatly said, "Charles, Dorothy hasn't caused serious problems. Please release her."

Still, Charles continued to be silent.

He disregarded their opinions.

His family kept asking him to release Dorothy.

Charles knew how unpredictable Dorothy actually was.

'Release her? And give her the chance to hurt Nancy?

There is no way I can allow that!'

Charles had his mind made up.
