Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love

Chapter 128 Mind Your Own Business

At that moment, Charles felt chill down his spine as he heard that Nancy had left her old apartment.

"Where did she move?" he asked anxiously with a hint of desperation in his voice.

But the woman merely glanced at him in disdain and replied, "I have no idea."

Annoyed at the woman's response, Charles took out his phone and dialed the man he could always rely on. "Jay, help me investigate where Nancy has moved to," he straightly said without even greeting first. "There is no need to investigate. I have heard from Doris that Nancy has moved to her apartment," Jay answered casually from the other line. After a short pause, he then asked, "Charles, are you going to see her now?"

"Yes." The grim in Charles' face was so evident.

"Hey, Doris warned me not to tell you, and if she knew I did, she would kill me. So, don't—"

But, before Jay could even finish his words, Charles had already cut the line.

The former was left shaking his head while feeling a pang of remorse. It took him some time to get along with Doris and finally make her his woman. If Charles barged in there right now, she'd probably know it was him who told that man. And with her feisty nature, Doris would definitely not let him go.

He didn't want to break up with her because of this. After all, it had completely nothing to do with their relationship.

So, in his attempt to save himself, Jay called her immediately, and equivocatingly admitted, "I'm sorry, Doris. I accidentally told Charles her whereabouts. Maybe you can tell Nancy to hide instead?" "What?! Are you crazy? How could you tell him Nancy's address?! I won't go to see your parents!"

"No! Look, I'm sorry!"

With Sarah's help, his parents had finally agreed to meet Doris. If Doris didn't come, he would feel so guilty and ashamed in front of his family.

Before Jay could even persuade her, Doris had already hung up the phone.

At this time, Charles had driven to where Nancy was.

Doris lived on the fifth floor, while Nancy lived on the fourth floor.

After parking the car, he went up to the fourth floor directly, ascending the stairs urgently as if it was an emergency.

Then, with a heavy breath, he knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

The moment he heard that soft familiar voice, warmth immediately wrapped his heart, and he couldn't help but slightly tremble. Nancy had thought that Charles would eventually come to find her, but she didn't expect that it would be this soon.

And because she didn't hear any response, Nancy automatically knew it was Charles who was at the door.

So, heaving a deep sigh, she walked towards it and opened the door.

As soon as she twitched the knob open, Charles aggressively pushed the wooden door and barged inside-much to Nancy's surprise.

"Doris!!!" Nancy yelled, hoping her friend would hear and come to her aid. She moved into this building so that she could get rid of Charles and have a friend to her side. And judging from how he quickly found her, Nancy thought that it wasn't the best idea she had.

Even when Doris was just upstairs, Nancy felt helpless as Charles locked the door from the inside.

But Nadia and Doris still heard her shout, so the two hurriedly ran downstairs and knocked on the door. "Nancy, open the door!"

"Mommy, open the door!" the young girl shouted anxiously, thinking that her mother was in trouble.

Meanwhile, inside the apartment....

Charles pushed her against the wall, kissing her long and hard on the lips.

Knowing that Doris and Nadia were outside, Nancy refrained herself from moaning or even making a sound.

As she was pressed against the wall while her hands were pulled up, her delicate face flushed.

She tried to push him away, but her strength was nothing compared to his brawny arms. Instead, Charles kissed her harder, forcing her mouth open to make way for his tongue.

"Nancy, open the fucking door!" Doris cursed nervously, forcing her hand on the knob and trying hard to open it.

"Mommy, open the door!" Even Nadia sounded desperate too.

Since Jay had called Doris earlier, the latter figured that Charles must have been in the building; that was why Nancy yelled her name.

'If that was the case, and they were both locked inside... 'As she thought of that, Doris stared at Nadia with a glint of surprise.

Then, she ran towards the window where and saw his Charles' black Hummer parked on the roadside.

It was just as she had thought-the man was really inside Nancy's apartment.

"Nadia, let's go back upstairs," she uttered to the clueless young girl, sporting a meaningful smug on her lips as she grabbed her hand.

"No, I don't want to!" But the stubborn child crouched down like a little kitten and waited for Nancy to open the door.

Helpless, Doris was prompted to stay outside, accompanying Nadia, who bore a brooding face.

And although she already had an idea of what the two were doing inside-as evidenced by the stillness of the sound in the room-Doris still hoped they wouldn't fight while Nancy's daughter was just outside. Meanwhile, Charles finally let go of Nancy's lips after devouring it for some time. He could see how flustered the latter while her almost swollen lips beamed so red.

But to his utmost surprise, Nancy landed a slap on his face, and with resentment, she uttered, "Charles, we broke up! What part of breaking up don't you understand, huh? We can't see each other anymore, and even if we do, you cannot do this! It's disrespectful to me. You know I can sue you, right?"

Even with her threat, Charles didn't seem to be bothered at all. In fact, he was even angrier now that she mentioned their break up.

'I have never agreed to you breaking up with me! It was only your idea! So I can still come at any time I want," he expressed, raising her chin with his finger overbearingly.

"You're delusional!" Nancy shook her head, and hatefully gave him a kick. But before it could even land, Charles was quick to catch her ankle and grasp it firmly.

Then, flashing a wicked smile, he said, "I will never break up with you. So, yes! I'm crazy and delusional! Keep that in mind!"

"I hate you!" Nancy summoned an abhorrent and spiteful expression while staring intensely into his eyes. She knew her life would be better off without him. She could work in peace, and even if it would hurt for some time, Nancy knew that she'd eventually find the right man for her.

But if she was to stay with him, her life would be one heck of a roller coaster ride. And frankly, she wasn't sure if she was ready for it.

"I don't care if you hate me." With a stern tone, coupled with a cold and blank face, Charles walked towards the door and opened it.

"Daddy?" Nadia, who was still waiting outside with Doris, was surprised to see the man leaving their apartment.

Her innocent mind wondered why he and her mommy would lock themselves inside while they were begging them to open the door.

And as Charles stared at the confusion on her face, a touch of embarrassment flashed on his. "Nadia, I still have something to deal with. I will see you next time!"

"Daddy, remember to take Bobby with you!" the young girl said seriously with a hopeful tone.

"Yes, I will." Then, he tidied his clothes with his bare hands and glanced at Doris before finally walking out of the building.

"Is he leaving?" After being dumbfounded for a while, Doris was able to utter something to say.

But Nancy just acted like nothing happened and instead held Nadia's hand to guide her daughter inside. "Are you coming in or not?" she asked Doris, who was still frozen on her feet outside the door. "Yes, of course." Shaking her head, Doris slowly stepped foot inside.

Upon seeing the highly evident blush on her friend's face, Doris already had a hunch of what might have happened in this room.

"Nancy, I'm really sorry. I didn't know Jay would tell him. I shouldn't have told that bastard in the first place!" she cursed, blaming herself for what happened. She promised herself to make Jay pay for betraying her.

"It's not your fault, Doris. And let's not talk about that anymore. Have dinner first!" Nancy tried to brush off the topic, still embarrassed at what just happened.

"Do you really plan on breaking up with him for good?" Doris really had to ask. After all, she had witnessed the love affair from the very start and knowing her best friend, there was no way she wouldn't be hurt with her decision.

"Well, if we go on like this, we will only get hurt. So why would I risk that?" Even with the tone of Nancy's voice, Doris could feel how decisive the latter was.

"What about Ethan? Will you give him a chance?"

"I only see him as a brother," Nancy replied, shaking her head.

"But he cares about you." Although Doris knew how much Nancy loved Charles, the former didn't want her to waste her chances in love. If she was really that decided in ending things with him, then Ethan might stand a chance in her heart.

"But I don't love him. I can't lie to myself or him, can I?"

"Well, I guess you're right. Don't worry. The right one will come. Or maybe I can introduce some men to you!" A wide grin was etched on Doris' lips as she suggested that.

"Don't bother. I'm not really into dating right now."

That was true. Nancy had really decided to devote herself in working and in raising Nadia.

Besides, she needed enough distractions to forget about Charles, and dating other men would not help her.

So, the next day, she went to work, plastering a smile in an attempt to start positively.

Jessie, who barged in uninvited in her office, exclaimed,

"Wow, Dr. Nancy! You're quite famous lately. The whole Internet is talking about your engagement with Mr. Fu. Is it done already?'

"Dr. Jessie, since you've been paying attention to other people's marriage, why don't you focus on yours? You are not that young anymore. It's high time you find a man!" Nancy sneered, obviously annoyed at her workmate, who was an evidently malicious gossiper.
