Chapter 87

MALIYA

I was walking in the middle of the woods, wandering around with no destination in particular. A part of me told me to go back but I was far into the woods to just turn back now without a reason.

I kept on walking deep into the woods when I began to feel as if I was being followed. I looked around to see if there was anyone in the woods but I was completely alone.

Is my mind playing a mind game with me right now? I tried to wave off the feeling, but the more I moved, the more I felt a presence around me.

“Okay, this is not funny,” I thought to myself as I stopped for a second to scan the woods. There couldn’t have been anyone else here but I didn’t want to ignore the feeling I was having at the same time.

“Hello! Is anyone out there?” I yelled, and my voice echoed through the woods, but there was no other sound to indicate that someone else was in there with me.

Maybe I’m overthinking everything right now.

I suddenly felt tired of walking around in the middle of the night and decided to rest my back beside a tree when I started hearing footsteps.

Everywhere was dark and the only source of light was that of the moonlight that was casting down from the sky.

I cleared my thoughts for a second and decided to confirm if I was imagining things or if I was hearing things well.

The sound of the footsteps continued and I could no longer wave it off. I have heard about wild animals living in the woods. It couldn’t have been the sound I have been hearing all along belonged to an animal, right?

I rose to my feet immediately and looked around frantically to see what I was going to do. I was completely alone and there was no way I’d be able to fight off an animal on my own. What the hell was I thinking when I came here anyway?

Fear gripped me as I thought of the possibility of being in danger right now. My heart began to beat rapidly and I knew that there was only one option left.

I needed to go back before whatever was in the woods attacked me.

I tiptoed gently so that whatever was hiding in the woods wouldn’t be able to trace my sound when I saw a terrifying figure in front of me.

“Ahhh!!!” I screamed as I fell to the ground while I stared at the giant that was staring back at me.

I staggered backwards as I crawled on the floor, but the more I cowered away, the more the giant creature moved closer to me.

My heart was racing so bad but I knew that I needed to do something, so I rose on my feet and ran out as fast as my legs could take me.

I ran back towards the exit so that I could get out of the woods and hit the road, but I suddenly got confused and couldn’t locate the path I took to get in there or the right path to take outside.

Think, Maliya, Think! I murmured to myself as I looked around frantically. The strange creature was still following after me, and the more I ran, the closer it got.

I need to get out of here right now or this creature would catch me and kill me.

I kept on looking around, and when I finally found the path to escape, the creature dragged me by my hair, making me scream out in pain.

“Ahhh!!!”

“You are stuck here with me forever,” he said in a terrifying voice before bursting out laughing.

“Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I jolted up from the bed. My heart was racing rapidly when I realized that what I saw was just a dream.

Beads of sweat formed on my forehead as I continued to pant out of fear. My chest rose and fell as I breathed in and out. It was as if I was really running in real life as I was out of breath.

When I finally calmed down a little, I looked around me to find out that I was in an unfamiliar place.

Where am I? I thought to myself when I realized that I was tied up and I was surrounded by a candle.

What is going on? Where am I? Why am I surrounded by a candle? Where is Alpha Xander? The last thing I remembered was Alpha Xander calling

I was confused about what was going on as I looked around the place. Why am I tied up if they brought me here for recovery? Did something happen while I was out? Why does it feel like this place has been abandoned?

Just then, the door cracked open and a woman who I recognized to be one of the seers came in.

So I was right. Indeed, I was brought here for treatment but why does everything feel so strange?

“You are awake,” the seer said as she walked into the room and I nodded. I have a lot of questions that need answers, and I couldn’t resist asking her questions immediately.

“What happened? Where am I? Why am I tied up? Did something happen?” I asked with confusion and she nodded her head.

“Nothing happened. You should go back to sleep,” she said coldly and I couldn’t help but fear that something was up.

“What of Alpha Xander? Can I see him? I have something to say to him,” I said and the seer gave me a look that said ‘what is this one saying?‘

I don’t know why I can’t remain calm. They might have brought me here for treatment, but I feel so uncomfortable and I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that something is wrong. I don’t know what it is, but I can feel it in my bones. Something is certainly not right.

“You cannot see Alpha Xander now. He is attending to other important things,” the seer said and I nodded.

“Alright. Can I leave then? There is nothing wrong with me now. I feel completely fine and I doubt you have anything to worry about. My headache has stopped,” I tried to assure her so that she could allow me to leave, but she didn’t seem to be listening to me at all.

“Dead the thought of leaving here or even seeing Alpha Xander ever again. You are here to stay, and the earlier you accept it, the better; now go back to sleep,” she ordered, leaving me confused.

“What… what are you talking about?” I stammered, and her face changed into something scary, and her eyes started glowing,g, which made me shift uncomfortably on the bed.

What is going on? Who is she? Is she not working with Alpha Xander? I thought to myself as she moved closer to me, intimidating with her presence.

I don’t know why I was suddenly shivering, but there was something about her that scared me so much.

“Forget about ever seeing the outside world ever again,” she said with a glare and my body shook with fear.
