Chapter 37 

XANDER 

I watched how Alpha Laxwell called me names out of spite but couldn’t care less. He was just a pained asshole who wanted everything that I have. 

He called me a monster for killing my family and rising to power, but all I could see was a coward who wished he had the boldness to do the same thing 

I almost laughed at him when he said he would take over my pack. The idiot can not even keep a pack and he wants to rule over two packs? His greediness amused me. 

“Get him out of my sight. 1 hissed and he struggled to get out of the guard’s grip. 

“This is not the end! Don’t rejoice just yet! I am going to get back to you. I’ll make you regret your actions. I am not your family, you cannot get away with this!” He yelled as they dragged him away and I fumed in anger. 

I can’t believe that bastard made me spend the entire day, preparing for his arrival. I thought he would come prepared. I thought it was going to be a big war yet, he came with only twenty men. 

I was more than disappointed and hated how the war ended so fast. I wanted to teach them a lesson. To make it worth the time I spent on the preparation 

I even gave the bastard an easy way out but he chose to fight. His arrogance did not only amuse me but also annoys the fuck 

oct of me. 

I’m going to teach him a lesson he is never going to forget in his miserable life. 

“Alpha, what do you plan on doing to him?” Lord Williams asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. 

“I haven’t thought of it yet, but whatever it is surely would be interesting,” I said as I thought of different ways to torment him. “I don’t want to see those bodies by morning. Send them to their families. That is what they get for having a pathetic Alpha.” I hissed before storming back inside. 

He ruined all my plans for tonight, but I’d ensure he never gets to make any more plans in the future. 

I went to the bathroom and ran the shower while I just stood there, allowing the water to wash the blood off my body. 

I didn’t know how long I stood there, as I allowed the water to calm my nerves. My mind went back to Alpha Luxwell’s words as he was being dragged away. “You will never be accepted. Never has and never will.” 

I scoffed at the thought and burst out laughing at his words. Acceptance? That was something I thought I needed as a child. Right now, I don’t care whether anyone accepts me or condemns me. They will still bow to me and follow my orders. 

That idiot can never make it far in life because of his pathetic ways of reasoning 

I came out of the shower once the water ran cold and got dressed before going into 

my room. 

I opened the door and found Maliya sleeping peacefully on the bed. She hugged the pillow tightly as if her life depended on it and I couldn’t help but stare at her face. 

She looked beautiful when she was not trying to annoy me by fighting for her rights or defying my order. The dress she was wearing had shifted up from her sleeping position, revealing her long legs and all I could do was stare. 

Her hair was covering half of her face, but I didn’t miss the cute pout she had on her face. She looked so fragile. Easy to make and break and every time I look at her, I feel the urge to break her until she can’t even put the pieces together.

Chapter 37 

The words of the three veers resurfaced in my head and I whispered to myself. 

“She is a blessing and a curse.” 

She didn’t know this and 1 hoped it remain that way or she would start feeling important and entitled. 

Right now, the body is a vessel. She is carrying my child and I won’t allow the slightest harm to befall her because I don’t know when her ill luck would take her life, not to talk of making another baby. 

I stared at her tiny stomach and wondered how a baby could be growing inside from how flat it was. I made a mental note to feed her more than she had been eating lately as I began to think about the child’s gender 

Having a female child sounds interesting, but I’m not sure if that is what I want. I want a male child. A son I can teach everything I know. Shower him with all the love and attention I could never get. I’d do everything I’ve always wanted for him. Spoil him, and teach him how to be a man because he is not only going to take after me, he is going to be my heir. 

I could already picture everything in my head and for some reason, the thought of being a father excites me so much. 

“Tim going to protect you, little one,” I whispered. 

Maliya stirred in her sleep, and just then, she opened her eyes, 

She looked a little surprised to see me as her eyes snapped open after trying to adjust them to the light just moment ago. 

She sat up on the bed and yawned before breaking the silence. How long have you been standing there?” She asked, still trying to rub off the sleep in her eyes. 

“I just got in,” I said, without breaking eye contact with her and she nodded her head. 

I noticed how unbothered she seemed about me watching her. My presence doesn’t seem to scare her anymore unlike when she first got here. She couldn’t even breathe in the same air with me and she would flinch at the barest touch from me. 

I recalled how she demanded that I start speaking to her politely too and I could tell that so much had changed. 

I was aware of how much she used to be scared of me, but I couldn’t care less. She would never dare to make an eye contact with me or speak first. Even when I asked questions, she would stammer before answering me and now she looked 

so calm. 

I wondered if she was doing it on purpose. Could it be because she is tired of living and wants me to get rid of her? I know how much she wanted to be far away from here. Would she rather die than continue to stay here? Is that what she has been trying to get on my nerves? So that I can flare up and punish her 

I wondered if she was like this because I pushed her too hard. My intention was to break her wings from the onset and I have succeeded in doing her. The fire in her eyes despite her silence is gone but with this new attitude, I wondered if I pushed her this far or if she just got tired of everything 

I don’t care what state of mind she presently was in or if I pushed her this far. I cannot let anything happen to her. Why? The answer was simple. 

She is the only one who can bear my child and until she gives birth to him in good health, I’ll have to treat her nicely and grant her wishes so that she won’t self harm herself or do anything crazy. 

She is a stubborn one and I need to be cautious around her. 

I smiled softly at her and I didn’t miss the way her eyes widened in shock. She stared at me with an unreasonable expression as if she had just seen something she had never expected. 

“Did. did you just smile at me?” She looked.. 

in disbelief and my lips curved up in a smirk from the look on his face. 

“What? Is there a problem with that?” I asked and she looked at me as if I had just grown two head,

“You smiled at me?” She asked again as if she couldn’t believe her ears. “Tin shocked. I have never seen a smile on your face before and seeing you smile all of a sudden looks like a… a taunting nightmare?” She furrowed her eyebrows as if she was trying to find the perfect word to use for it. 

“What do you mean?” I asked amused by her statement and we close the curtain as the room was starting to get too coll. 

“I 

I mean, have you seen your face!” She laughed and her smile was so beautiful. 

I couldn’t stop staring at her beautiful face when she changed the topic. 

“How did the war end?” She asked. “I couldn’t leave the room besuse our men and nobody would tell me what is going on,” she said with a frown. 

She must have been worried. 

“We won,” I said flatly, and she released a balls of diet Alpha Luxwell is currently locked up and he would never cause 

any trouble again” I assured her and she nodded. 

I could tell just how pleased she was with the news when an idea popped up in my head. 

Would you like to inflict pain on him just like he took advantage of you?” I asked and her lips curved up in a smile before she nodded her head.
