Chapter 277

Millie greeted Winston with a smile, raising the watermelon she was holding.

Winston inwardly groaned, then he continued to exchange pleasantries with the others.

Millie set down the watermelon rind, delicately wiping her fingertips. As she looked gaze locked with Joanna’s brother, Logan.

up, her

Something seemed off about this supposed entertainment industry party she was attending. Instead, it felt more like a gathering of Yerwick business elites.

After glancing at Millie, Logan picked up the cup beside him and took a sip of coffee. Millie pondered whether to greet Logan. After all, there was an unspoken tension between them.

Just as Millie hesitated, Logan said, “I heard Ms. Caldwell and Winston are getting divorced?”

Millie couldn’t help but look at him. He looked elegant in his black suit, with a smile on his face. One hand in his pocket, the other holding a cup. Logan was a mature and decent man. However, he couldn’t hide his happiness when he asked this question.

Millie sighed and realized that he was happy for Joanna. After three years, Joanna’s dream of marrying Winston had finally come true, and the entire Lowell family should be happy for her.

“We’ve divorced,” Millie replied simply.

“You must be regretting what you’ve done.” His calm tone carried a hint of sarcasm.

Milled smiled and looked at Rachel in the distance. “How could I know the outcome if I never tried?”

“Everything you did was unnecessary.” Logan snorted with indescribable sarcasm in his tone.

Millie was completely unaffected by his sarcasm. In fact, she had never offended Logan. They had never been formally introduced. It just so happened that the Lowells revolved around Joanna, and they labeled anyone who caused her pain as an enemy.

Someone greeted Logan, and he responded with a wave before going over.

Millie couldn’t help but roll her eyes internally. Luckily, Logan wasn’t her brother. Otherwise, they would argue every single day. He was just an arrogant fool who criticized others without knowing the whole story.

“Oh! Look, sweetheart is here!” someone exclaimed at the venue. Everyone turned to see the person entering from the nearby entrance.

Then, a stunning young woman in a sleek, black, backless dress made her entrance. Two bodyguards and her manager accompanied her, creating a truly grand entrance.

“Sweetheart is gorgeous. She rocked the red carpet. She looks amazing.”

Millie crossed her arms, observing Madison Xanthos, a leading actress known for her role as sweetheart.” Her popularity led everyone in the industry to affectionately refer to her as such.

However, she was Rachel’s most formidable rival. Whether on stage or in variety shows, she took every opportunity to undermine Rachel. Her behavior was truly despicable.

When Madison arrived, a crowd of people eagerly gathered around her, including some of her previous associates. The venue suddenly seemed to empty out.

Madison warmly greeted everyone and strolled through the crowd until she reached Rachel. Rachel smiled at her as their eyes met, neither fully enthusiastic nor hostile.

“Rach, you’re here too? I thought you weren’t coming.” Madison’s eyes lit up with a smile, and she seemed very approachable.

“Yeah. Didn’t we greet each other in the event group chat?” Rachel squinted her eyes, her expression more gentle than Madison’s.

Madison was stunned.

Rachel was filled with a sense of disdain and found Madison to be quite pretentious. Madison would constantly tag her in the group chat for this event as if trying to get closer to her. Did she suddenly lose her memory?

Madison suppressed her anger and tightened her grip on the bag.
