She Was Tamed

Chapter 52 – Failed Surprise

Jada felt so exhausted after the end of the event. It was the first time she felt like that ever since she started modeling. She felt like she was hit by a truck.

The good thing is that they were already done with their last show and they were heading home the next day. She wants to make the most of Brazil but she was too tired to do so. She headed straight to her suite and laid down on her bed without getting changed. She wanted to rest for a bit before going for a shower.

After a quick bath, she changed into a black cocktail dress. It's a corset dress with a mesh covering for the stomach. She put on light makeup, and metallic heels, and she was done. When Jada went down to the great hall, she headed straight to where Mama Vane is seated. The party has already started and some of her co-models were already dancing with the sponsors.

She has only seated when someone offered a hand, inviting her to dance. In all fairness, the guy looks hot, but apologies to him, Jada is loyal. She suddenly hoped Bambi was there to substitute for her. After two songs, he led her back to the table. He smiled as he bid them farewell and when he was gone, Jada excused herself to go to the restroom.

When she came back to their table, some of her co-models were already saying their farewell to Mama Vane. Looking around, she felt like she can already escape too.

Jada excused herself and told the woman that her head's starting to ache so she wants to go back to her room. Good thing she lets her go.

When she got in, she didn't bother turning the lights on. As soon as she closed the door and took off her footwear, she plopped onto the bed.

"Ugh!"

'What the fuck? What was that?'

Jada wasn't able to move right away when she heard someone groan. Goosebumps start creeping all over her after realizing there is someone else in her room.

She started screaming in fear and since the lights are off, she run straight to the wall as she tried to escape. Jada bumped into it in full force and her surroundings spin around.

The impact of bumping into the wall made her feel like she drunk three bottles of vodka. As she got dizzy, she fell straight to the floor.

Jada didn't heat her head but she blacked out. Eventually, she woke up because of the nonstop tapping on her cheek. That person is still there with her and she was scared. "Ja? Baby? Are you ok? I'm sorry..." Lyken whispered.

'Did I hit that wall hard? Why am I hearing him? Why am I hallucinating?'

She kept her eyes tightly shut. Jada was scared that she was just having a hallucination and she doesn't know who was the person she was with.

When she opened an eye, a familiar face registered in her sight. She shut her eye again to get back to her senses. She could be wrong but she was hoping she was right. 'Baby? I'm glad you're okay," he exclaimed.

After hearing the same familiar voice, Jada slowly opened her eyes and was greeted by Lyken's worried face. 'What the fuck? It's really him? When did he get here?'

"Ly? Is that you?" lifting her head, she reached out to his face to confirm that she was not just having hallucinations.

"Yes, baby, it's me. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you," he apologized in a hurry as he pulls her in for a hug.

Jada hit his shoulder, hard. She was furious because of what happened. "You silly! Why didn't you say something immediately? If you did, I wouldn't have tried to escape! I wouldn't have hit the wall!" she ranted, but he was just staring at her. "I almost had a heart attack you know?" she glared at him but Lyken was still quiet, mouth slightly open and taken aback by her reaction.

"Baby wait... wait. Calm down. I didn't know you're part of Eminem's crew!" he exclaimed, surprised at her nonstop spit of words.

'This asshole! Is he teasing me?'

She wanted to punch him to make him realize that she was really mad at what he did. But the jerk in front of her even joked about her speech.

Narrowing his eyes at her, he creased his forehead and held her shoulders, "Are you okay now? Have you calmed down? Ja can I start explaining now?" his voice slightly trembling.

When she nodded at him, he let out a long sigh and sat properly next to her. He reached out for her hands and covered both of them with his.

"Ja, I'm sorry because I didn't tell you that I'm coming here. It's because I wanted to surprise you," he started. "I know you're coming back tomorrow, but I decided to fetch you because I want to make sure you'll come back safe."

The creases on her forehead showed up when he started telling her the reason he came. Not sure if he's serious with what he said, but he did sound crazy. Imagine, he came all the way here just to come back the next day.

"Sorry, I scared the wits out of you. I got access to your suite because I was the one who booked this, remember? I just showed them my identification and they gave me the keycard."

Still speechless, Lyken decided to continue with his narration. "I hurried back when I saw you left the venue and since I have no time left to look for somewhere to hide, I decided to just hide under the blanket. I'm sorry, I didn't expect you'll plop on the bed as soon as you get in."

Jada nodded at him though she still doesn't understand the purpose of his travel to Brazil. 'Is it just to fetch me? This guy's weird!'

"Sorry," she muttered when he fell quiet.

His forehead creased but when he was about to tell him what she was apologizing for, he raised a hand to stop her. Seems like he recalled how he got hurt earlier and that's what she's sorry for. "Where did I hit you?" Jada asked.

It's only then that he feels concerned for him. Instead of answering her, he just points at his chest and pursed his lips.

"Oh, my... sorry, baby. I didn't know..." then she placed her hand over the spot he pointed to.

"Well, it didn't hurt because you plopped on me. It hurts because I saw you dancing with a dashing bachelor earlier, in that outfit."
