MARTHA'S POV

"I will never forgive anyone if something bad happens to you again."

Words that linger in my mind before I get to sleep I actually don't know if that is real or just a dream.

All I remember I felt embarrassed when Ms. Selene caught me doing some stupid gesture and so I covered myself with a blanket and that's it. The rest that I remember from that scene where she kisses me on my forehead seems real, but it is impossible.

Right now that I had just woken up, I saw her standing near the window. I could hear the word "food", so she is probably now ordering food.

After talking on the phone, she walks towards me and sits beside me.

"I ordered food for you since you already had your flatulence so you can now eat properly,"

She said, sitting relaxing in the chair.

"Thank you, Ma'am"

I responded, still thinking of the word "flatulence". I know that word.... hmmm... damn! It's... fuck! I slowly looked at Ms. Selene and she just turns her eyes on me so I just smile at her.

Damn! So she smells it! Goodness! This is so embarrassing!!! I am fighting with myself when suddenly someone knocks.

Finally, the food delivery has arrived, since I have been really hungry.

Ms. Selene manages the food and she is the one who looks after me and even prepares the food for me, which is really awkward. I mean Ms. Selene Alvuero-Mondre is taking care of me! I am blushing now and I try my best to hide it. The more that she is brave, cold and snobbish, the more that she is actually caring, genuine and nice.

While she is peeling the orange for me, I am throwing her a look. I cannot believe that Ms. Selene is actually taking care of me, or maybe she felt guilty since I needed to go back to the office for the folder that she commanded me to get. I was in the middle of my thoughts when she glimpsed me.

"What's with that look?"

She suddenly asks.

"Nothing Ma'am, it's just I am not used to this, you are taking care of me"

I shyly said.

"Why? Is it much better if it was Valerie?"

She asks without looking while still peeling. Honestly, her question stops me, goodness! What does Valerie have to do with this...? Or to what I said! Geez!

"Oh, hmm, what does Valerie have to do with this?"

I asked.

"Well, you guys are close, even closer than usual. I heard she's a lesbian,"

She said which surprised me. I mean, how does she know that?

"Ahm... Yes, ma'am, she admitted it to me"

I said.

"I see, so she likes you?"

She asks again. That shocks me, damn! Where the hell did she get this information?

"Hmmm, yes, but I have no intentions of that and I made myself clear to her, though if I fall in love with a woman I am pretty sure it is not her, it is someone else. Though it's really impossible for that woman to like me", I explained.

"So you have a girl crush? Admiring her is fine but not her obligation to admire you back",

She said. That hits me right! I feel like any time I will be swallowing whole by the floor

"Yes Ma'am and I already get that, I mean she is too special to like someone like me... she is on top of her world!"

I explained, though I felt heavy within and Ms. Selene is just staring at me with her crossed arms while leaning her back at the wall.

Dang! How did she even get there? She was just sitting beside me while I was talking!

"We can't always get what we want. That is reality,"

She said.

"I know Ms. Selene and I am fully aware of that. Besides, she is straight, another reason why it is impossible between me and her. I will never get to her level in everything and with people she mingles around me. I mean they are all pretty and class, and above all, I am not yet crooked, Ma'am, but when it comes to that, she is whom I like",

I explained.

She suddenly removes herself from leaning against the wall and slowly walks towards me while giving me that enticing look.

"It's more than a mirror to see your real beauty and true potential and you are beautiful Martha, you are worth more than anything,"

She said while our faces were now an inch to each other. Our position makes me take my breath away and I keep on swallowing my throat with her breath touching my face.

When I felt like she was about to kiss me, I felt embarrassed when I realized that she was just trying to reach and press the nurse buzzer on my back, so the nurse from the nursing station came in.

"Yes Ma'am?"

The nurse asked.

"Her IV line has backflow of blood, fix it"

She seriously said to the nurse.

Goodness! So that was all about it. She was just trying to press the buzzer damn! How stupid I am thinking it's the other way, but wait, did she just mention that I am beautiful? I was kind of thinking about it and fuck! She really said it! Oh my God! If only I could tell her that she was the woman I am telling her about!

Then the nurses quickly fixed my IV line, then left.

I felt a little awkward mixing and giggling about what had just happened earlier, but I tried to hide it. I didn't want her to notice that.

"If only I can tell you, Selene, that I like you"

I mumbled to myself. Then I was shocked when she suddenly walked out of the room.

Fuck! Did she hear it? It is impossible, it is just a whisper, I almost even whisper to my mind! SELENE'S POV

After the incident, I will never forgive myself if something bad happens to Martha again.

I couldn't control my emotions at the time when I saw Martha in the elevator almost dead.

Even though I really don't like staying at the hospital anymore, I suppressed that thought just by looking after Martha.

Staying in her room made me a little bored and so I tried to call all my clients that I was about to have a meeting and I could see that Martha was already awakened and acting so weirdly awake. I find it cute until I sit on the chair and she never stops being cute, and I can't help myself but get near her.

I tried to calm myself so I leaned towards her and kissed her forehead and made her forget this gesture of mine.

When she woke up, we started to have a conversation about a specific subject that hit me again. I just hate seeing her act like that towards me.

I noticed her awkward movement to me,

"Why? Is it much better if it was Valerie?"

I asked, feeling a little pissed saying Valerie's name.

Martha confirms that she doesn't have any feelings for Valerie and that she's eyeing someone now, and for that, if ever, she will love the same gender.

I don't like this feeling inside me hearing Martha liking someone else. In the past few days, I haven't controlled myself towards her. I am certain that I only cared for her because Martha is a big deal to David. I could use her to connect me with all their hidden business. I have already brought down the laboratory that David used to experiment on live humans. I managed to free all the victims 10 years ago.

And a factory that operates killing innocent children to get their organs.

That factory is not literally a factory but one of David's secret operations. They are famous on the black market, even in underworld businesses.

I am aware of Martha's purpose for staying by my side, but in the past few days, I can't understand myself. I move and act more unusually than I am.

In the series of conversations with Martha, I noticed a backflow on her IV line and so I had to press the buzzer in the nurse's station.

When I walk towards Martha and our faces are just an inch away, I can see how beautiful this human is, and my heart starts beating so fast again. Ever since I became a vampire I have never felt my heart beat anymore, but not when I met Martha. Right now my heart is jumping like insane; I sweat for no reason and feel pissed when she's with Valerie.

The nurse arrives and fixes the IV and then leaves. Martha suddenly lies down on her bed and turns her back on me.

I don't mind it at all, Martha needed to rest, but when I was about to check my cell phone...

"If only I can tell you, Selene, that I like you."

I was swiftly frozen hearing what she whispered to herself. I can't believe what she just said; my heart is on the fast beat again shit! This can't be! I am literally feeling bloated inside my heart and mind that makes my emotion explode anytime soon so I need to remain my composure and get out, suddenly Gust call.

"Gust,"

I said.

"I'm here on the rooftop, I already have the copy of the footage, and you just need to see this Sen"

Gust said. Then I quickly headed my way to the rooftop.

"What is in the footage?"

I asked.

"Here",

And then Gust handed me the cellphone with actual footage of Martha's incident.

"Aaahhh... get off me!!!"

I can see that a man in black leather, wearing a cap, grabs Martha's arm, then wraps his arm around her neck and covers her mouth with some cloth that makes Martha pass out.

While Gust is adjusting the footage, I can see that the man seems good at what he does. While the video was playing, something caught my eye, so I asked him to zoom into that specific part.

I was shocked to see clearly what I had noticed.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

Gust asked, but I remained silent with a huge shock in my eyes.

"Get me that man alive, I need to see him!!"

I said, looking furious and disturbed, and then I quickly jumped off the rooftop.

I know Gust was left surprised at my reaction towards the man in the video. He had never seen me acting like this and this time I didn't know where I should go to let out this raging emotion inside me! 3RD PARTY PERSON'S POV

"Boss, the target is still alive. I did check on how it happened but there is no footage of how the secretary was saved."

"That is fine, for now. Just prepare yourself; this is going to be the start when I will get back what is supposed to be mine."
