Chapter My Troubles 61
Chapter 61
Mona stood nearby the entire time and naturally overheard Warner's conversation with Mick.
Nydia was the lead surgeon? She was so young, yet she managed to save Homer, who was teetering on the brink of death. Her shock was understandable.
Given the situation where the vascular foreign object was incredibly difficult to detect even with a CT scan, it meant that the object's size was exceptionally small. Even her own mentor from years ago wouldn't dare take on such a surgery lightly. As she thought about it, her face turned pale.
If Nydia continued to develop like this, she'd soon make a name for herself in the medical community. By then, even if Nydia wanted a divorce, the Wilcher family wouldn't let her
easily.
She pondered for a moment, feeling a chill in her heart.

Instead of approaching Mick, she turned around and went to the stairwell and dialed a number.
Nydia headed straight back to the doctors' lounge.
The surgery had been physically and mentally exhausting, so the moment she lay down, she fell into a deep sleep.
In her dreams were Norman, and the cute little Bella. When she woke up, there was even a faint smile lingering on her lips.
By the time she opened her eyes, it was already the next morning,
Glancing at her phone, she suddenly bolted upright.
Goodness gracious! If she was not mistaken, it was a call from the hospital director's office!
Her mind went blank, unable to figure out what she might've done to offend Austin. She was just a junior doctor, after all.
Of course, she now had enough savings to quit if necessary. However, she also understood that things weren't that easy in the upper-class society either. She might have some money, but she might not be able to hold onto it. Hence, holding onto this job was like having a safety net. If she lost all her savings, she would at least still have a salary to live on.
After quickly tidying herself up, she hurried to Austin's office. However, he was busy, so she
had to schedule a meeting with the assistant and didn't see him until noon.
The moment she walked in, she was met with Austin's furious expression.
"Were you the one who saved Mr. Barton Senior?
Nydia carefully chose her words, replying, "It was thanks to the excellent guidance from the experts."
"Looks like Dr. Townes wasn't exaggerating," Austin said, his anger seemed to deepen. "With skills like yours, why on earth would you want to transfer to a logistics position?"
Nydia was dumbfounded. She hadn't made any such request!
Oh, wait. Back when she had to care for Mick and his son, she often left work right on time. Although she managed to complete her tasks efficiently, it caused some dissatisfaction among others.
Maisie Howard, who often worked overtime, even mocked her, saying, "If you're in such a rush to leave every day, why not transfer to a logistics position? They have fixed shifts, and you couldn't work overtime even if you wanted to." Around that time, the hospital had indeed introduced a policy aimed at accommodating doctors with physical limitations.
She had only skimmed the announcement and paid it no further mind.
Now, it seemed that Maisie had filled out an application on her behalf.
Right in front of her, Austin took the stamped application form and tossed it into the shredder.
"Focus on being a doctor!"
"Yes, of course," Nydia replied, breathing a sigh of relief.
The application form had already been stamped. If it had been processed, she would've been forced into logistics whether she liked it or not!
Austin, still stern-faced, glanced at her meek demeanor.
"Take good care of Mr. Barton Senior. If his recovery goes well, the hospital will set up a dedicated column for you.
Nydia was thrilled! Such recognition was typically reserved for chief physicians who had made significant breakthroughs!
This opportunity was as sweet as a freshly baked pie!
"Rest assured, Dr. Clayton," she said eagerly.
