wasn't long before the doors of the operating room opened

ack, who had been pacing anxiously, stopped immediately. He'd been praying for his

andfather's safety while blaming himself for not realizing something was wrong earlier.

Then he heard the sound of the doors, he quickly turned around and rushed forward, asking, "ow's my grandpa?"

Mr. Barton, your grandpa's condition is quite complex. We hope to speak with the doctor who

itially identified his condition."

ick froze, then asked out of surprise, "You want to see Nydia? What can she do?"

Mr. Barton, she has training in traditional medicine and managed to identify the issue

rough observational diagnosis alone. Having her as an assistant would be beneficial to the rocedure's success."

Luck understood that time was of the essence, so he did not ask further and immediately

dered his assistant to contact Nydia.

ast as he gave the command, Mick arrived.

Mick, where's Nydia right now? I need her help urgently," Buck asked with reddened eyes, most at the point of tears.

e had been raised by his grandfather, and the bond between them was strong. He was willing

do anything to save his grandfather.

ick frowned deeply.

ver since they filed for divorce, he had no idea where Nydia was staying.

Let's start by checking the Surgical Department," he said, tapping Buck's shoulder. "Don't orry. Just leave this to me."

ter that, Mick turned around and looked at Mona. You stay here and look after Buck. Keep e updated on Mr. Barton Senior's condition." ona grew nervous. "You... You're going to look for Nydia?"

the two of them met privately, and if Mick had to ask for her help, there was for them to dindle old flames. She couldn't afford to take the risk.

he's needed in the operating room, which is an honor for her," Mick replied, his tone still ced with irritation, as if Nydia was nothing but a burden. thout giving Mona a chance to say more, he turned and left,

Around the corner, he borrowed a phone and dialed Nydia's number.

Meanwhile, Nydla was in the middle of bathing Bella.

The phone rang for a while before she finally heard it. She hurried over to answer it. "It's me," Mick's voice came through, haunting her ears once again.

She furrowed her brows tightly. "There's nothing to talk about between us. Just-

"It's about Mr. Barton Senior," Mick said patiently, for once, instead of lashing out immediately as he usually did.

Hearing that piece of news, Nydia didn't hang up right away.

Although Mr. Barton Senior had been sent to the hospital, they needed to run him through pre-surgery examinations and arrange for specialists. It would take some time before the operation could be performed. Could it be that some sort of complication happened during the process?

"Come to the hospital," Mick ordered.

Nydia instinctively went on high alert. As a junior doctor, she was not qualified to enter the operating room.

She suspected that Mick, still upset about today's events, was trying to set her up.

"I don't think it's necessary. I'm currently suspended because of the practical contest."

Mick's tone turned more irate. "I'm offering you a chance to regain the hospital's trust. Are you coming or not?"

"I believe I can earn those opportunities through my own efforts. Mr. Barton Senior has plenty of experts tending to him. I'd rather not be a nuisance."

"Nydia Vega!" Mick growled through gritted teeth.

"Mr. Wilcher, please watch the grinding. Even at your age, you still need them to eat," she replied.

"You better come here right now!"

"Go ahead and call the police on me."

With that, she hung up the phone.

Just then, Norman came over with Bella in his hand. "Ms. Vega, please come quick! I can't hold her any longer!"

Nydia hurried over to help him.

However, barely a minute later, Buck was calling her directly.

"Dr. Vega, I'm begging you. If you're willing to come, I'll forever be in your debt!"
