Reborn Through Fire

Chapter 1429

Chapter 1429 Give Me Some Advice
Kisa slowly got up from the ground and hobbled out with the empty bowl in her hand. “This man seriously misunderstood me,”
she thought. ‘No matter what I do, he thinks I have some ulterior motive. Well, I guess I’ll just have to be a good girl and do
nothing for a while.’ She opened the door and could not help but glance at his back before leaving.
Only when the sound of the door closing echoed did Gilbert turn around, looking at the empty study. Suddenly, he kicked the
chair with frustration. ‘This is so damn annoying! That woman is a pain when she’s here, and even more so when she’s not!”
Back in her room, Kisa called Adrien. “Uncle Adrien, have you returned to Calthon?”
Adrien was in his club, holding Carolyn in his arms. Carolyn had already divorced Christopher and moved in with her daughter.
To please him, they even gave all their shares of The Case Group to him.
Adrien gave a cold glance at Carolyn and said to his phone, “Yes, I’m back. What’s up?”
“I just wanted to ask what I should do now. I can’t stand being around Gilbert anymore. He is cruel, cold-hearted, and
unpredictable. I just want to get revenge and leave this place as soon as possible. Uncle Adrien, you said you would help me.
Can you give me some advice on how to make him suffer?” Kisa pretended to be desperate for revenge so that Adrien would
reveal his true intentions.
Adrien laughed gently into the phone. “Just wait a little longer. You have only just returned to the Kooper family. When the time is
ripe, I’ll tell you what to do. Don’t worry, if I say I will help you, I will definitely help you.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for your instructions.” Kisa hung up the phone and leaned back on the bed, lost in thought. She was waiting for
Gilbert to return to the room, but little did she know that he had witnessed her conversation with Adrien.
Gilbert stared intently at the surveillance monitor, his hand resting on the edge of the desk tightly clenched into a fist. He had
seen Adrien at the cemetery yesterday, and he knew that Kisa and Adrien were plotting against him. But he did not confront her,
and he even allowed her to continue with her plans.
‘Heh! Let’s see how far that woman will go to harm me.’
A cigarette dangled between his fingers, the smoke filling the room and gradually shrouding his face in a veil of darkness and
restraint.

‘When I thought she would forgive and forget and be with me, her occasional displays of affection and tenderness turned out to
be all fake. She wants me to lose everything, to be in agony. Her goal has never changed, despite my repentance and love. She
is even more heartless than I imagined.’
He exhaled a smoke ring and gazed out at the chilly night sky. Images of the girl pestering him to do homework came flooding
back to his mind. Those were the good old days.
Meanwhile, in the club, Carolyn was unhappy when Adrien answered the phone. When he finally hung up, she snatched his
phone away. “Who was that? You sounded pretty cozy,” she said, flipping through Adrien’s phone.
A cold glint flashed in Adrien’s eyes. He took a drag on his cigarette, smirking but saying nothing.
Carolyn quickly found Adrien’s call history with Kisa, and her eyebrows furrowed. “What’s your relationship with that little tramp?
Why did she call you? Is she trying to seduce you?”
