Chapter 1423
Chapter 1423 If You Behave
Gilbert shot her a piercing glare before resuming his meditation. Kisa breathed a sigh of relief, mentally scolding herself for being
such a pushover. Despite being the one who was angry, she had turned into a timid mess as soon as Gilbert’s mood shifted.
‘Ugh, I’m beyond pathetic!’
Suddenly, Kelvin’s message interrupted her thoughts.
Kelvin: [Is Gilbert not letting you come over?]
Kisa: [Yeah, he’s acting like a crazed lunatic, accusing me of trying to seduce you.]
Kelvin: [Geez, he is seriously off his rocker. I have no idea what this guy’s deal is.]
Kisa: [Sigh, never mind. It’s just his usual neurotic behavior.]
Kelvin: [Well, let’s just ignore him. By the way, do you want me to take you to Oceanville?]
Kisa hesitated upon seeing his message. Gilbert was in no condition to take her there but going alone was risky. She did not
know the place well and did not have any contacts there. On the other hand, Kelvin was familiar with the area and had
connections, but he almost died on their last trip to Athadale. She did not want to drag him into another dangerous situation and
risk losing Gracie’s trust.
Just then, a slender hand snatched her phone out of her grasp. The sound of her phone notification was still ringing, which
meant that Kelvin was still messaging her. Gilbert’s intense gaze was fixed on the chat screen, his handsome face clouded with
anger. Kisa’s heart raced as she lowered her head and tried to blend into the background. The chilly air around her was
palpable.
Kisa muttered in a low voice, “There is nothing interesting on my phone, so... can you give it back to me?”
Gilbert’s grip on her phone was so tight that it looked like he was about to crush it. He looked at her with a smug expression and
said, “You’ve been bad-mouthing me behind my back, haven’t you?
Kisa giggled in surprise, “No. I have been praising you behind your back. I’ve only said a few bad things about you, and you just
happened to hear or see them, so you always think I’m talking bad about you behind your back.”
He chuckled coldly. Kisa followed suit, but as they laughed, she could feel the chilling aura around her. Suddenly, he approached
her and trapped her between him and the cockpit wall.
“So, you really want to go to Oceanville?”
Kisa looked into his eyes and replied, “Didn’t you promise to take me to Oceanville to meet the Webb family?”
“That was before. You used to be so obedient, but now...,” he trailed off as he scanned her from head to toe, and said in a cold
tone, “Now you just want to get revenge on me. Who knows if you’ll intentionally cause trouble if I take you there?”
Kisa pursed her lips, realizing that he would not take her to Oceanville anymore.
“But don’t think about asking Kelvin to take you there either. He and Gracie have it hard enough. If you want to do something,
that is your business, but don’t drag other people down with you.” Gilbert’s icy voice was laced with warning and hatred.
Kisa lowered her head and nodded. “I did get him involved this time. But don’t worry, I won’t drag him into it again.”
Seeing the sudden look of self-blame and disappointment on her face, Gilbert’s heart inexplicably became restless. He pushed
her away and threw her phone back into her arms, grunting, “Davian has already made arrangements with the Webb family in
Oceanville. I will go see Mr. Webb in Oceanville in half a month. If you behave, I’ll take you there.”
