Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring novel (Naomi)

Chapter 239

However, her phone buzzed with a text message as soon as she got out of the cab. She glanced at it.

[Charles: Have you eaten yet?]

Naomi smiled when she saw this and quickly replied, [Yes, I have. How about you?]

She had kept in touch with Charles all throughout her trip, and they would occasionally make small talk like this. She knew that he was busy and thus did not want to intrude on his life too much.

At the same time, Charles was packing his bags in Horizon City. It was a Saturday, and he had secretly booked a flight to surprise Naomi in Herland. He only wanted to contact her when he arrived in Herland, but for some reason, he felt a sudden urge to talk to her and did not want to wait.

Since it was only 8 a.m., he decided to text her anyway since he figured she would not be busy at this time.

When Naomi's reply came, he beamed from ear to ear and immediately picked up his phone to message her back.

He clicked on the notification and typed, [I've eaten too. How have you been the past few days? Have you been busy?]

[It had been manageable and was not particularly busy.]

[Charles: That's good. It's better not to get too overwhelmed with work. Take care of yourself.]

He had been thinking of her all this while. Every time he texted her, he would remind her not to overwork herself and get plenty of rest. Naomi smiled. [I'm doing alright. I hope you're getting plenty of rest too, Charles. Take care too.]

[Charles: I will. Today's my day off.]

[Naomi: That's great. I hope you take it slow today.]

[Charles: I will. I need to run now. I'll get back to you later.]

[Naomi: Okay. It's fine, Charles. Go ahead.]

Finally, he sent her a smiling emoji, to which Naomi replied with one of her own. The conversation ended on a good note.

They were taking things slow in order to get to know each other better.

Naomi smiled and put down the phone before finally gazing out at the scenery before her. Le Soleil was a river that ran in between the old city gates and a lush green forest. They decided to build the museum with its new exhibit in the beautiful forest so that visitors could also enjoy nature when visiting this exhibition.

Since they had already picked out the location even before arriving in Herland, the construction had already started beforehand. When Naomi arrived, the foundation of the building had already been laid down, and the construction workers were hard at work despite it being a weekend. They were not at all surprised to see Naomi there. They had had plenty of visitors since the start of the project.

The public had already caught wind of the upcoming museum, so reporters and media outlets occasionally would stop by to check out the construction progress.

Naomi stood before the project site, staring at the scenery around her, then turned around and gazed out at the old city gates across the river.

After some time, a car pulled up in front of the project site, and out walked Dylan and the rest. They were all supposed to meet at 8:30 a.m., but they had arrived early. It was only 8:20 a.m.

Dylan had texted Naomi earlier that morning to let her know he would be picking her up. When Scott left Herland the night before, he had given Dylan some instructions, the most important being to take good care of Naomi while he was gone.
