Chapter 222
Dylan thought that Scott was just finding an excuse to not go back to let Naomi be more anxious toward him. At that moment, it seemed like it was not the case.
Dylan narrowed his gaze, smiled, and got into the driver's seat. Soon, the car left the hotel.
The chauffeur left after taking Naomi to her room.
Naomi placed the medicine on the table. She looked out of the window before looking at the time once more. She got up and slowly headed to the walk-in closet. She grabbed a change of clothes and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
She was worried about Scott, but worrying was pointless. All she could do was care for herself and see if he would return that night or not.
If he returned, she would give him some Vitamin C effervescent tablets to drink. If not, she had no other choice.
It was past 9 p.m., and it was late into the night. After taking a shower, Naomi came out and headed to the table to work.
She wanted to wait for Scott to return. She had a feeling that he would.
Soon, Naomi started working. As the night darkened, the rain came to a halt. The entire city seemed refreshed.
While the city fell asleep, the Drunken Kitten had just woken up.
The bartender placed wine in front of Scott, Dylan, and Connor, before placing a glass of fruit juice in front of Olivia.
Yes, Olivia was there as well. She went along with Connor. When Scott and Dylan arrived at the Drunken Kitten, they were already seated there.
Dylan sat next to Olivia. When the wine was placed right in front of him, he immediately took a swig and said, "Not bad. I like the wine at Drunken Kitten. It tastes great."
Then, he looked at Connor and said with a smile, "Connor, you haven't been back for a long time. You never drank here before, you must enjoy it."
Connor was on the other side next to Olivia. He looked at his glass of wine, not in urgency to drink them. When he heard what Dylan said, he smiled and raised his glass. "Let me have a sip." Dylan raised his glass in response. They looked at each other and smiled.
Olivia was in the middle of them, holding her glass of fruit juice silently.
Technically speaking, Scott should be sitting next to her, but the moment Dylan arrived, he sat next to her. Just like that, Scott sat next to Connor instead.
Connor was between her and Scott. Just like in the past.
While Connor and Dylan drank happily, Scott silently sipped at his drink. He did not spare Olivia a glance either.
From the moment he entered, he never once looked at Olivia.
"This wine is definitely different from when I was abroad. It really is sweet and flavorful. It reminds me of the past. Not bad."
Connor looked at his wine and lamented once more.
Dylan raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Why do I never think of the past when I drink this? All I taste is the present and the future. I think it's not bad as well. Just like right now. It's great." Olivia did not know if he said that intentionally, but she furrowed her brow.
Connor smiled widely. "That just means that the wine is really great and that everyone has their own interpretation when they taste it."
Then, Connor looked at Scott and raised his glass toward Scott. "We haven't drank together in ages, Scott."
Scott raised his glass and clinked Connor's. Connor smiled even wider.
Seeing them drinking, Dylan looked at Connor and Scott before looking at the rather sullen-looking Olivia. He blinked his eyes and said, "Olivia, what is it? Connor is back now, so why do you seem like you're in a bad mood?"
Dylan asked as if he did not know what was going on.
