Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring novel (Naomi)

Chapter 161

Naomi stayed still in Scott's arms. Her mind was blank and she was in a complete daze.

Scott listened to her heart beating and her breath pace before picking her up and placing her on the couch.

He looked at her. "Stay. Stop moving." His tone was slightly different. It was much deeper than usual. Slightly hoarse, even.

Naomi looked up at Scott and met his stern gaze.

At that moment, her heartbeat quickened.

She could not explain it, but his gaze intimidated her. She wanted to cower and escape. However, at that moment, she did not dare to move.

It was as if she had lost all her motor abilities. She could only look at him.

Scott noted how silly and adorable Naomi was, staring back at him. She looked very real to him at that moment. Gone was the formality she always deployed when dealing with him.

He touched her shoulders a little before getting up and heading to the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of water running brought Naomi slowly back to her senses.

Why did he hug her? Was he not dating Olivia? Why, if so, would he be so...intimate with her?

They had never had such close contact with each other throughout their marriage. Much to her surprise, he initiated such close contact only after the divorce. She could not understand.

Naomi's leg could not get wet, so taking a shower was quite troublesome. Scott carried her in. When Naomi saw the bathtub full of water, she immediately said, "I... Put me on the stool. I'll do it myself slowly." She was not going to let him help her. She had to do it herself, no matter what.

Scott said nothing. He merely responded with a gruff hum and placed her on the stool.

He prepared all the washing products next to her so she could reach them.

Naomi's mind was a mess, so there were many things she did not consider. She never considered asking him to send her back to her room or considered what she was going to wear after the shower. Gone was her usual meticulousness and thoughtfulness.

Scott was with her in a small, enclosed space, which made her panic. Once she sat down, she immediately said, "G-Go! I can do it on my own."

Scott looked at her frantic gaze. She looked helpless and nervous. She did not even dare to look at him, like a child who made a mistake.

"I'll be outside. Call me if you need any help."

"Okay." Naomi nodded quickly. She almost said, "Just go."

Scott glanced at her before heading out, closing the door behind him.

Naomi sighed in relief when she heard the door click. She looked at the bathtub of hot water. Soon, the temperature in the bathroom increased. Her face started burning as well.

She touched her face and looked at everything in the bathroom. She forced herself to calm down. She was a person who did everything slowly and calmly. She faced any problem by slowly thinking about it and then solving it bit by bit.

She found it difficult to come to terms with the incident that happened that night. She needed time to think about it and digest it.

This was why she had to deal with whatever was happening at a reasonable pace.

At that thought, she dipped her hand in the bathtub to test the water. Only then did she shed her clothes.

Scott did not leave. He stood by the bathroom door with his hand in his pocket, gazing intently at the scented candle flickering.
