Chapter 35
Chapter 35
my emotions tell me I really miss my mother and want to know about her as soon as possible.”
Elizabeth sighed–a hint of melancholy in her beautiful eyes.
As a psychologist, she knew very well that Kaida was manipulating her longing for her mother. She was well aware of it, yet she still wanted to give it a try. She did not want to miss any chances.
Andrew furrowed his brow and turned to retrieve a document from his office drawer. He handed it to Elizabeth.
“Take a look at this.”
As soon as Elizabeth begged him to help find her mother, Andrew instructed Robert to start the investigation. Although it was a promise made by his other personality, he could not deny that even he, himself, would do the sarne. As a husband, he must safeguard his wife’s happiness. That was why he had to help Elizabeth find her mother. Elizabeth eagerly took the document and briefly skimmed through it. Then, instantly, a glimmer of light flashed through her amber eyes.
“So my mother is alive!”
She closed the document, casting a happy gaze at Andrew in surprise, her face beaming with joy. It was the happiest she had been in days. She simply could not believe what she just read was true. It was like a wonderful dream.
“Well, this is all we’ve found so far. I initially planned to gather all the information before informing you, but seeing how foolish and impatient you are, I had no choice but to tell you ahead of time!” Andrew said.
He looked at her as a teacher looked at a stupid student..
Elizabeth pouted sheepishly. “Whenever it involves my mother, I can’t remain calm. I don’t care how you would handle it if you were in my position. You’ll never truly understand me. Actually, no one can truly understand anyone in this world!”
The slightest nuances could lead people to make different choices based on their own feelings and circumstances. That was the complexity of human nature.
“Do you know where my mother is now?”
The information only mentioned that her mother was alive and had been taken to a highly secretive nursing home, but it did not specify the exact location.
“I’ve got some leads, but those who took your mother away are not simple characters. The information I have now is limited. I still can’t find them.”
Andrew shook his head.
“In that case, I’ll hire a few private detectives to investigate!” Elizabeth said, preparing to stand up, but Andrew firmly pressed her back onto the sofa.
“Can the people you find be as capable as those under Hayes Group? Don’t waste society’s resources. Leave this matter to
me!”
His tone carried a firmness and dominance that brooked no refusal.
“Thank you.”
Andrew had helped her repeatedly, and besides expressing her gratitude, Elizabeth did not know what else she could do.
She did not expect that the transformation of his personalities would not hinder their relationship but instead bring about unexpected changes.
“You wanted to cure my illness, didn’t you? Well, now is your chance! But it would be best if you didn’t awaken the other personality. I want you to change my attitudes toward women!”
Despite the transformation of his personalities, he still did not know how to get along with women. Aside from Elizabeth, he could not accept any other woman.
