Chapter 26
Seeing the diamond ring on Elizabeth’s hand exactly like Andrew’s, the smile Henry was trying so hard to maintain on his face instantly disappeared!
“Your cousin used to be a little weak, but since I married him. I’ve been taking good care of him daily. Peter asked the kitchen to make Andrew a different kind of medicine food for his body to recover every day. He is now in good health. I’m not going to lie to you. I can hardly stand him on the bed now,” said Elizabeth shyly as she covered her mouth and
snickered.
“Elizabeth, that’s enough!”
Henry was so angry that he raised his voice instantly. Losing Elizabeth had always been something he regretted.
The words Elizabeth was saying just now were like poking him in the heart with a knife!
“I can’t understand what you’re saying. You’re concerned about your cousin’s condition, and I’m just telling you truthfully to put your mind at ease. What’s wrong with that?”
Elizabeth shrugged with an innocent face. This was the effect she wanted. It would be great to anger Henry to leave.
She knew Henry too well. He was now angry not because he still cared for her but because he was too petty and narrow–minded.
The woman who once almost belonged to him had become his rival’s wife. He could not swallow this anger, so he wanted to stir things up!
He would inevitably leave in a huff once she said something to hurt his pride.
“Elizabeth, you are great!”
Henry looked at her with hatred. Then, after he said those words through gritted teeth, he turned around and left.
Seeing that he was far away, Elizabeth breathed a long breath of relief. Only then did she turn around and go upstairs to the study to read the book.
She did not know that all this was seen by Peter, who had just returned from his shopping trip.
Because the villa was too big, Peter stood at the door and did not hear what Henry and Elizabeth were talking about.
But seeing the expressions on their faces, combined with the final scene of Henry leaving in anger, Peter felt that things were not simple.
The more Peter thought about it, the more he was uneasy. He made a phone call to Andrew to report the matter.
When Andrew received Peter’s call, he had just ended a meeting.
He was initially happy that the company had made a sizeable multinational order, but his good mood suddenly disappeared upon learning about this matter.
He sat at his desk, staring fixedly at the matching ring on his ring finger, which was as same as the one Elizabeth was wearing.
He once again remembered the strange look on Elizabeth’s face when she met Henry at the Hayes’s residence and the seemingly ambiguous expression that Henry showed.
Also, whenever Henry was mentioned, he felt that Elizabeth was extremely uncomfortable.
He absolutely did not believe that they were just in a simple alumni relationship.
Today, Henry dared to come to his door recklessly. What about next time? Where would they meet again?
Andrew felt exasperated and a little breathless with the mere thought of this.
Since this woman had already married him, and regardless of other factors in their marriage, he thought Elizabeth should fulfill her duty as his wife, at least during the duration of the marriage!
In the evening, when Andrew had arrived at the entrance of the villa hall and had not had time to change his shoes, he saw Elizabeth running toward him with an excited smile.
“Andrew, I know how to treat your illness now.”
Elizabeth had been reading all day today and finally came across one of the simplest and most common treatments from
the book.
Because she had considered Andrew’s illness too complicated, she had ruled out the most straightforward treatment.
But she thought for a long time today and used many elimination methods. Finally, after thinking about many consequences, she felt that she should still take Andrew to try the most straightforward treatment.
However, in the face of Elizabeth’s enthusiasm, Andrew’s attitude was icy.

He changed his shoes, glanced up at her coolly, and then walked past her toward the center of the hall.
way
“What’s wrong with you? Did you run into someone on the back?”
As Elizabeth spoke, she chased after him with a face full of concern.
The patient’s attitude was not right, and as a psychiatrist, Elizabeth naturally suspected for the first time that some women were approaching Andrew with bad intentions that caused his sudden mood deterioration.
“No. You want me to get attacked by my illness every day?”
Andrew finally turned back and looked at Elizabeth with impatience.
Elizabeth suddenly became attentive. Was it because she was guilty of her private meeting with Henry in the morning? Was she trying to case her guilt by pleasing him?
Thinking about this, Andrew’s already bad mood had become even worse.
But he could not do anything about the woman before him, so he could only make things difficult for her in terms of words.
“L… don’t mean that. As your psychiatrist, I naturally need to keep an eye on your emotions all the time. Can’t I even ask you about that?”
Elizabeth frowned in confusion and looked up to stare at Andrew with a curious face.
He was not showing any signs of illness right now except for being in a bad mood.
“Just mind your own business for now.”
Andrew reached out and rubbed his tired brow. He was afraid that if he continued to talk with her, he would do more things that were out of the ordinary, so he hurriedly turned to the study after he said that.
“You’re so strange.”
Elizabeth stared at his departing tall back and could not help but complain secretly.
She thought secretly in her heart, “Forget it. I won’t argue with him so much. I’ll talk to him about the treatment plan when
he is in a better mood.”
Elizabeth’s mood suddenly improved after she talked herself out of it.
However, her good mood did not last ten minutes when a phone call from the Clarke family ruined it.
“Liz, come back quickly. Your father’s illness has worsened again, and the situation is critical.” Kaida’s voice was heard on the other end of the receiver.
“Got it. I’ll go over to see him later.”
When Elizabeth heard the news, she thought she would be distraught, but she found that she was at peace with herself.
For so many years, David had ignored her.
She had almost forgotten what kind of feelings she should use as a daughter to face her father.
“Okay, remember to come over as soon as possible. We’ll be here waiting for you,” Kaida said and hung up the phone. Elizabeth put away the phone and looked upstairs. She had the idea of calling Andrew to accompany her.
But when she thought of his attitude just now, she put the idea to rest.
After all, the two of them were not in the same kind of relationship between an ordinary husband and wife. He was not obliged to accompany her.
So Elizabeth changed her shoes and went outside to call the driver, asking him to take her back to the Clarke family.
The car soon stopped at the entrance of the Clarke family. Elizabeth looked sideways at the driver and said to him, “You go
back first.”
If her father was really very sick, she had to stay overnight at any rate.
“Okay, Mrs. Elizabeth.”
The driver nodded. After he watched Elizabeth enter the Clarke family, he drove away.
