Preference For Her By Joyce Dan

Chapter 106

Chapter 106

Elizabeth locked the door of the treatment room and turned towards the nervous little girl sitting on the sofa but did not approach her. Instead, she walked over to the window and called the little girl’s grandmother, who was the actual client.

The elderly lady on the other end of the video call had a kind and gentle expression but seemed a bit nervous. She asked, “Dr. Hayes, is there something wrong with Annie’s treatment?”

“Annie is fine.” Elizabeth glanced at Annic, who was peeping at her, and told the elderly lady what the two bodyguards had

done.

After clarifying the situation, Elizabeth was direct and asked, “Are there any issues that make it difficult for Annie to continue her treatment?”

Elizabeth believed in being straightforward about the situation. “If people keep causing trouble with me, it will affect my other patients. I won’t be able to manage Annie’s treatment if that’s the case.”

The elderly lady had yet to speak.

Annie suddenly rushed over and grabbed the phone. She said in a hoarse voice. “Miss, you can’t give up on me.”

“Annie… The elderly lady hadn’t heard her granddaughter’s voice for a long time and was so overjoyed that she was about to

cry.

Elizabeth looked at Annie, who finally reacted. She let out a sigh and patted Annie’s head, saying, “But first and foremost, you cannot give up on yourself.”

“Dr. Hayes.”

The elderly lady called out to Elizabeth in a choked voice, “Don’t worry, what happened today will never happen again.

“I’m going to investigate right away and find out who had the audacity to harm my granddaughter.”

“Okay.”

Elizabeth comforted Annie and asked for the phone back to speak directly with the angry elderly lady on the video call. She suggested that, until they could resolve the situation, it might be best for Annie not to come immediately in case the other party used extreme measures.

The elderly lady was obviously stunned for a moment.

After a while, she smiled in relief. “You are a good doctor.

“I appreciate that you are upfront and honest with me about everything. Unlike other people who would either avoid the situation or raise their prices.”

Elizabeth smiled. “Because I have Hayes Group behind me.

“Didn’t you choose me for this reason back then?”

Elizabeth acknowledged that Annie’s family behind her was also sizable and influential.

Who would dare to point out the dirty secrets of such a large family?

It seemed that they valued their connection to Andrew more than Elizabeth’s medical expertise.

After chatting with the elderly lady, Elizabeth took the opportunity to provide psychological counseling to Annie, who was responding well. The results were noticeably better than before.

An hour later, Elizabeth sent Annie off but saw two bodyguards in the corridor.

The bodyguards‘ depieanor had noticeably weakened, and they greeted Elizabeth politely when they saw her.

This made Elizabeth lower her guard.

Unexpectedly! As Elizabeth was walking down the stairs, a bodyguard who was still some distance away suddenly ran over and forcefully pushed her.

Elizabeth missed a step and was about to fall down the stairs.

However, Brandon suddenly rushed over, and he pulled Elizabeth to safety with one hand while holding onto the railing with the other, protecting her.

The bodyguard’s eyes flashed with anger when he saw that he had been defeated.

However, he walked to Elizabeth with a smile and said indifferently, “Oops, my bad. Sorry about that. It was an accident.”

He had just reported what had happened here.

Now that he had someone backing him up, he believed Elizabeth wouldn’t do anything to him.

Looking at the arrogant bodyguard, Brandon let out a cold laugh. He helped Elizabeth to the side of the stairs and made

sure that she had a firm grip on the railing. Then….

He grabbed the collar of the approaching bodyguard and threw him down the stairs.

“What are you doing?” The other bodyguard shouted and ran downL

Without hesitation, Brandon kicked him down the stairs as well.

Both of them ended up lying on the floor in the hallway, yelling out in pain.

The receptionist picked up the goldfish bowl on the table, walked in front of them, and excitedly poured it over their heads. She repeated the words of the bodyguard with an exaggerated tone, ‘Oops, my bad. Sorry about that. It was an accident.” Elizabeth, who was originally a little angry, couldn’t help but laugh when he saw Brandon and the receptionist standing up

for her.

If there were one thing that made Elizabeth’s psychology center stand out, it would be the sense of unity among the people

there.

They didn’t bully others, but no one could bully them.

The bodyguard was already in the wrong. Even though he was splashed with water, he did not dare to shout and could only leave in a sorry state.

With the situation resolved, Elizabeth was able to move on.

However, the situation with Andrew was like a raging hurricane.

Half an hour ago.

Expecting Elizabeth to arrive as Robert had reported, Andrew grew increasingly impatient when she did not show up. He eventually took matters into his own hands and went downstairs to meet her, hoping to offer her a way out of the situation.

However, he did not see Elizabeth when he reached the lobby downstairs.

Andrew walked to the front desk and asked casually, “Was someone looking for me just now? A woman.”

The tall receptionist was taken aback and was about to answer truthfully when she received a discreet kick from the round–faced receptionist next to her.

“No, Mr. Hayes. There were a few male business partners who came by,” the round–faced receptionist replied with a smile. “Really?” Andrew thought about it and felt that he might not have described it clearly. “She’s very fair in her early twenties. She’s especially beautiful and thin.”

“No.” The round–faced receptionist grabbed the tall receptionist and insisted, “There haven’t been any women like that who came by.”

The tall receptionist was stunned.

She did not expect her colleague to be so stubborn

“Is that so…” Andrew had thought about suspecting the two receptionists.

Perhaps Elizabeth did come, but she didn’t come upstairs because of some reservations,” thought Andrew.

Just as Andrew had already believed that Elizabeth did not come and turned around to return to his office, he saw a takeout bag in the trash can.

The brown paper bag was traced with gold thread. The huge logo took up half the page. It was the signature of the club he Joved.

However, only members of that club were qualified to buy it, and the golden thread was unique to high–level members. Andrew stared at the trash can for a long time. He pointed at the paper bag and asked, “Where did this come from?” The round–faced receptionist followed Andrew’s gaze and broke out in cold sweat. However, she still said stubbornly, “This is my lunch

“Sorry, Mr. Hayes, I was lazy and didn’t go to the restaurant to eat.”

“Is that so?” Andrew looked at her completely unashamed face and became angry in an instant, “I didn’t know that the receptionist of Hayes Group has such a high income to afford takeout that costs over six hundred dollars.

“You guys have some nerve!

“Not only did you lie to me multiple times, but you also ate the food she gave me!”

“No.” The tall receptionist immediately became scared and quickly explained, “Mrs. Hayes gave it to us and asked us to eat

it!

Andrew, who was just bluffing them, sneered at the two pale girls. “So you did lie.”

well. It seemed that he had to figure out how many people in the Hayes Group were deceiving and hiding things from

The receptionist’s behavior could leave a lasting impression on the company’s image. It was concerning that they had such disregard for their responsibilities. There must be some underlying issues within the company that need to be addressed.
