Stella’s heart sank.
Once people made up their minds, it was hard to change their first impressions.
Brian stood outside. He sensed something was wrong after hearing her story. He was about to step inside
when a group of men approached.
“Why are you standing there, Brian?” Joseph called out to him, looking around the room curiously. “What’s going on? What’s the commotion?”
Yoel, amidst the crowd of men, noticed Stella standing alone at one side of the room.
He noticed that she was isolated by the group of women.
His expression darkened as he stepped next to Stella. What happened?”
Carrie’s eyes lit up when she saw Yoel. She eagerly recounted the incident, embellishing the details.
After listening to her, Yoel turned to Bernard. “Is this true?”
“What’s it to you? Bernard replied, clearly annoyed.
“I’m just trying to get to the bottom of it.” Yoel glanced at Stella before continuing. “For context, Stella is my date. We were considering a relationship, and she came with me. There’s no way she’s looking for a sugar daddy at this party.”

Carrie’s expression darkened. She clung to Yoel’s arm “Yoel, how could you fall for such a lowly woman?
She was definitely trying to seduce Bernard, everyone here can vouch for that. When we came in, she was
all over him. If we hadn’t shown up, who knows what would’ve happened…”
“Carrie!” Unexpectedly. Bernard was the first to silence her.
“Are you defending her too?” Carrie glared at Stella. Stella, you’re quite the manipulator. You got. Bernard
to defend you.”
“That’s rich, coming from you,” Stella finally spoke, her eyes calmly fixed on Carrie, “Carrie, let me ask you
again, did you or did you not tell me to come into this room?
Carrie looked like she was on the verge of hysteria. “Stella, you’re just a whore! How dare you threaten me
with that look after doing something so filthy?”
“Carrie, calm down,” the group of socialites comforted her before turning to Stella with disdain. “You’re
disgusting!”
Stella didn’t respond but instead picked up her phone.
“Stella, you should head upstairs. Jessica is in the first bedroom on the left on the third floor. Don’t get lost!” Carrie’s voice sounded from the phone.

Bernard looked at Carrie in disbelief. “Camie?”
Everyone else, including the men at the door, looked equally stunned
“Wow, so it was all a setup,” Joseph remarked from the doorway before trying to lean on Brian.
Brian avoided him with a cold expression.
He had planned to intervene, but it looked like Stella was able to take care of herself.
“You recorded it?” Carrie’s expression twisted in disbelief. Stella had recorded their conversation.
Stella glared at her. “I checked Jessica’s dress before I sent it out and it was perfectly fine. You didn’t call
me before or after, only on her birthday. You suddenly dropped your usual arrogance and were polite to
me
“Of course, I had to be careful. Otherwise, rd have no way to defend myself tonight.”
Stella searched the crowd for Jessica.
She was standing silently with a pale face.
Stella knew that Jessica was involved.
Jessica would never wear a dress she designed, and ordering one from Stella’s studio had been part of the plan from the beginning
But Jessica was smart. She would get others to do her dirty work while she stayed in the background. When things went wrong, she could deny everything.
But Carrie wasn’t as lucky.
Carrie’s face drained of color as she felt the shocked and judgmental eyes of everyone around her. She felt completely humiliated.
