Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 152

Chapter 152

Several doctors emerged from the operating room. Among them was Joseph.

Though he wasn’t a stomach specialist, he had observed the surgery.

He approached Brian and said, “The total gastrectomy went smoothly. But since it was a major operation, Mrs. Foley needs to stay in the ICU for one to two weeks for observation.”

Brian nodded solemnly. Joseph added, “Brian, don’t worry too much. I take good care of Mrs. Foley.”

“Thank you.”

The ICU only allowed visits through a glass window for an hour, so Brian prepared to leave after seeing Sharon. Jessica followed him out. “Brian, let’s go together.”

Jessica had been bustling about all morning, comforting Sharon before she entered the operating room.

Brian felt somewhat grateful to her. “Thank you.”

“No problem. I’ve always seen Mrs. Foley as my own mother.” Jessica smiled.  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

It’s late. Let me drive you home.”

“Alright.”

They took the elevator down together. Just as they reached the hospital entrance, they saw Bernard rushing in with Stella in his arms.

Brian immediately recognized the white dress as Stella’s. She lay limp against Bernard’s shoulder, her long hair covering her face. Jessica saw them, too, but she pretended not to. She didn’t want Brian to rush over and show concern for Stella, fearing he’d leam what happened to her.

“Brian, I’m feeling a bit tired.” Jessica suddenly clung to Brian’s sleeve. Brian glanced at her hand,

“Let’s go. I’ll take you home.” Jessica secretly breathed a sigh of relief..

“Doctor, please check on her.”

Bernard carried Stella into the consultation room. She was burning up with a fever, and she leaned against him, her face flushed red.

Bernard had been at Nas Group in the afternoon for a meeting and saw a crowd outside. To his surprise, it was Stella in the middle of the crowd.

He immediately brought her to the hospital. The doctor took her temperature–it was 104 degrees Fahrenheit. She needed an IV.

After the IV drip was set up and half an hour passed, her temperature came down. Stella opened her eyes

to a room full of white.

“You’re awake?” Leaning by the window, Bernard saw her awake and brought over some pumpkin soup for

her.

Stella sat up. Now that the fever had gone down, she felt less dizzy. “Why am I here?” she asked Bernard

“You had a fever and passed out at Nas Group’s entrance. I brought you to the hospital.”

Right, she did feel dizzy after leaving Nas Group in the afternoon. So THE

“Thank you.” She hadn’t expected Bernard to be so kind. Stella was a bit surprised.

The Cullinan drove slowly down the road. Brian first dropped Jessica off at Tarovian Terrace. After Jessica left, Mike finally spoke up.

“Mr. Foley, I noticed something odd about Mrs. Foley earlier.

“What is it? Ho

opened his eyes.

“When Mr. Roach was carrying Mrs. Foley, I saw her skin was red. She might have had a fever,”

A fever? Brian frowned. “Head back to the hospital.”

“Yes, Mr. Foley.” Mike turned the car around and drove back to the hospital.

Brian, suspecting something happened, added, “Find out what happened today and why Stella was with Bernard.”

“Okay.”

A few minutes later, they got the answer. After taking the call, Mike informed Brian, “Mr. Foley, there’s been an issue with Mrs. Foley’s collaboration with Nas Group.”

He quickly summarized the situation. A chill settled between Brian’s brows. “I knew something would go wrong eventually.”
