Stella blushed. “It was an accident.”
Brian didn’t say much. He just gave a hum of acknowledgement and asked her, “Have you had dinner?”
“Yeah, I ate at home. What about you? Did you have dinner at the hospital?”
“I did.” Brian sighed softly, seemingly tired.
Stella looked at him nervously. “How’s Sharon doing?”
“We’ll get the report tomorrow,” Brian replied as he looked at her.
“Okay.” Stella met his gaze. Worried about his mood, she softly said, “Don’t worry too much. She’ll be okay.
As she spoke, she hugged him to comfort him. Brian felt a stir in his heart. Suddenly, he raised his hand
and wrapped it around her slim waist. “Thank you for comforting me.”
Without a word, Stella just held him quietly. Brian suddenly asked, “Is your butt. still hurting?”
“It’s much better after applying the ointment,” Stella replied with a flushed face.
“Let me see.” He wanted to lift her skirtį He had been so angry that morning that he left two handprints on
her bottom. Her fair skin bruised easily.
Stella refused. As she pushed his hand away, she said in embarrassment, “No, don’t look!”
“Why not?” he asked as he looked down at her.
Her face was as red as a tomato. There’s no need to look. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Brian looked down at her. Noticing her red ears and her face growing increasingly flushed, he suddenly smiled and asked, “Why do you blush so easily?”
He
e caressed her face as he said that. Stella’s mind went blank. She stayed still, allowing him to touch her.
Suddenly, his fingertips landed on her lips, and he pressed them slightly. Stella wasn’t sure what had gotten into her. Without thinking, she opened her mouth and bit his finger.
At once, Brian’s brow twitched, and he leaned in to kiss her. It was just a light peck before he pulled away.
He then hugged her and said, “I’m not in the mood tonight. Let’s wait for my mom’s report first.”
Stella didn’t know what to say. He actually thought she was hinting at him and even rejected her.
Her cheeks turned even redder. “That’s not what I meant.” She hurried to explain.
Brian glanced at her and smiled nonchalantly. “No need to be shy. Everyone has needs. I get it.”
Stella’s cheeks grew even more flushed. What was he even talking about?
Later, he carried her upstairs. She obediently stayed in his arms with her arms wrapped around his neck.

“Will
you
sleep with me tonight?” Brian asked her in the hallway.
“Okay.” Stella couldn’t refuse.
Brian carried her into the master bedroom and gently placed her on the bed. “Wait here. I’m going to take
a shower.”
“Okay.” She nodded obediently and lay in bed to wait for him.
After about ten minutes, the sound of water stopped. Brian walked out wearing a robe. Stella didn’t dare look at him, so she lowered her gaze to the blanket.
“Not sleeping yet?” Brian lifted the blanket and sat on the bed.
“I’m waiting for you.” Stella glanced at him worriedly. Seeing his calm expression, she said nothing and obediently lay down.
Once Brian lay down, he pulled her into his arms. Without resisting, Stella quietly lay in his arms. She was
unusually compliant that night
“Why are you suddenly so compliant today?” Brian wasn’t used to it.
“Nothing special,” Stella replied. Her big eyes glistened, looking endearing.
Brian kissed her forehead and softly said, “Remember to get that quartz pendant back from Yoel.”
