Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Later that evening, Brian took Stella out to a seafood restaurant. She was fond of seafood, so it was a fitting choice. By the time they arrived, it was already 9:00 pm.

The seafood was all alive, and they had to pick what they wanted to eat. Brian led her through the

restaurant..

By now, Stella had calmed down. She followed him, looking at the seafood in the tanks, feeling a bit lost. Which one tastes good?”

“Do you want to try some lobster?” Brian asked her.

The staff scooped out one of the lobsters. It was as hefty as Stella’s arm. “Whoa, that’s a big one! How much for one of these?” Stella exclaimed.

“It’s 150 dollars each, ma’am,” the staff replied matter–of–factly.

Stella’s eyes widened. “That much?”

“That’s the going rate,” the staff confirmed, turning to Brian. “We’ve also got some blue crabs and Dungeness crabs today. They’re as fresh as they come.

“Sir, you might want to give those a try, too. They’re mighty tasty.”

“How about we go for these three and add a king crab? Brian proposed to Stella.

“Isn’t that a bit much?” Stella questioned.

“Nah.” Brian shrugged confidently, signaling the staff to place the order.

Stella silently calculated the bill in her head. With the seafood priced per item, their meal tallied over at thousand. With her finances, as they were, it was more than she could afford.

After they ordered, Stella followed Brian up to a private room on the second floor. As they ascended the spiral staircase, they bumped into Yoel.

“Stella, you’re dining here? Yoel greeted her with two friends by his side.

Stella smiled faintly upon seeing him. “Mr. Perkins, you’re here for dinner, too?”

With Starlight Couture now under Nas Group, Yoel was effectively her boss, and Stella treated him with the appropriate deference.

“Yeah, just here for a business dinner,” Yoel replied with a slight smile while glancing at Brian.

Brian’s expression darkened as he marched up the stairs. He called back to Stella, “Hurry up

Stella rolled her eyes. “Guess I won’t bother you then, Mr. Perkins. Enjoy your meal.”

“Which room are you in?” Yoel asked, leaning in

“First one on the right,” Stella pointed to their private room, waved casually to Yoel, and walked inside.

As Stella swung open the door, she was met with Brian’s frosty glare. Her smile faltered. She was unsure why he was so cold.  sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

dishes.

Stella, feeling famished, wasted no time grabbing a lobster and diving in–it was pure bliss! Her hunger made every bite taste even more delicious.

After a while, Stella noticed Brian hadn’t touched his food. She glanced up and found him still glaring at

her.

Perplexed, she recalled his earlier kindness that evening. Wiping her hands clean, she picked up her

utensils and carefully placed a lobster on his plate. As she was aware of his cleanliness preferences, she avoided handling it with her hands.

Brian stared down at the lobster on his plate and then shot her a sharp look..

“Why bother?” he muttered. “Seems like you’re enjoying it enough for both of us.”

His tone carried an unexpected hint of bitterness. Stella glanced at her plate, where a mountain of seafood shells had gathered.

She chuckled nervously. “Oops, sorry for diving in without asking you to join. You’ve got to try this, though. It’s really good–it’s super fresh and flavorful!”

Brian softened a bit at her gesture of goodwill. He nodded silently and started eating.
