Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 122

Chapter 122

The next morning, as Stella was having breakfast, she got a call from Claudia, Chris‘ wife.

Through her tears, Claudia said, “Stella, what’s Mr. Foley trying to do? He’s halted all cooperation with our group and said he won’t give us any more projects unless the board removes your uncle.”

Stella froze, staring at the man calmly eating across from her. “Brian, did you really cut off all our family’s

projects?”

“Are you still holding onto illusions about those people? Brian’s handsome face showed a hint of

irritation.

“No.” Stella shook her head. “But if my uncle is removed, what will happen to our family’s company? Who

will run it?”

“I’ll send someone over to take charge. You don’t need to worry about it,” Brian said nonchalantly.

“What? You’re sending someone to manage my family’s company?”

“Yeah. The year we got married, I invested 100 million dollars in Yates Group, I’ve been the largest

shareholder of your family’s company for a while now.

Before, he hadn’t bothered with Chris, dismissing the Yates family’s company as beneath him. He had allowed Chris some leeway out of consideration for his Yates family ties. But now, there was no need for

mercy.

For Brian, this was a good thing. He had been fed up with the Yates for a long time. Uprooting them once. and for all meant he wouldn’t have to deal with them anymore.

Stella was stunned.

She had never expected Brian to have invested so much money in Yates Group.

Wasn’t this, in a way, saving her family’s company?

“Thank you,” she suddenly said,

Brian raised an eyebrow. “What are you thanking me for?”

“I never knew you did so much.”

Her uncle never told her, and Brian never mentioned it. She had thought Brian had only given Yates Group  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

a few projects. But now she realized he had actually saved the entire company.

Looking back, she realized that Brian marrying her had been a raw deal for him. He not only had to protect. her but also had to rescue her family’s floundering company

Brian gave her a cold glance. “I’ve told you before, you’re too naive. You’d get fooled by anyone.”

“But you didn’t tell me,” Stella said as she pouted.

“You were still in school. What good would it have done to tell you?”

Stella lowered her gaze. It was true, she was only 20 years old at the time. Even if she had known about

the crisis facing the company, what could she have done? She was powerless.

“Now that you see through them, it’s not too late. Just don’t be naive anymore.” Bilan comforted her when

he saw her feeling down.

“Does my uncle ask you for projects every time we have dinner?

“Pretty much

Stella was completely in the dark about all this She hail thought it was just a simple dinner, but it turned out to be a lot more complicated.

No wonder Brian had such a deep seated animosity toward the Yates family.

As the truth began to dawn on Stella, she let out a heavy sigh

“I’ve been blaming you for things you didn’t do,” she admitted, her voice filled with regret. Tm sorry…”

Brian shot her a glance. “If you realize how good I am to you, then stop fighting me all the time and stirring up those affairs.”

Stella blushed, her words barely audible. “I didn’t.

Don’t pretend to be innocent,” Brian retorted, rising from the table. “I’ve got to head to work. Get my

clothes for me.”

He ascended the stairs clad in casual wear.

Stella left the dishes behind and trailed after him.

There was an unusual intimacy in dressing him this time around.

Whenever their eyes met, she felt her heart race uncontrollably, and she found herself unable to evade his

penetrating gaze.

“What’s got you blushing? Brian’s voice was low as hexed his gaze on her face.

Stella bit her lip and shook her head. “I’m not blushing.

“Feeling shy?” Brian’s eyebrows arched. After two years of knowing her, he could read her emotions like

an open book
