Joseph was stunned and cursed angrily, “That monster She’s his own niece!”

“Those damn gamblers will stoop to anything when they’ve hit rock bottom,” Mike chimed in, his voice dripping with disdain.

After Joseph left, Brian returned to the bedroom.

Still groggy from sleep, Stella blinked as she sat up.

“Hungry?” Brian asked from the doorway.

Stella paused for a moment. “Actually, yeah.”

She hadn’t eaten dinner.

“Go take a shower. Food will be ready in a few minutes, Brian instructed before heading downstairs.

Stella was surprised that Brian actually knew how to cook.

She had no idea. She had never seen him in the kitchen before.

After a quick shower, Stella emerged in a light pink nightgown.

Brian returned just as she stepped out, pushing the door open while carrying a plate of grilled cheese

sandwiches. He looked strikingly handsome

Momentarily dazzled, Stella stood frozen as she stared at him.

Noticing her gaze, Brian walked over and playfully flicked her forehead. “What are you staring at?”

“You can cook?” Stella asked, genuinely surprised.

“These are sandwiches Yvonne made last time,” Brian replied casually.

“But you grilled them,” Stella pointed out, settling onto the couch, her long hair cascading over her shoulders. Her big eyes were sparkling with admiration

Brian glanced at her. “Surprised?”

Stella nodded. “Yes, who taught you?”

Brian paused for a moment. “I spent a few years in Mavonia. I learned to cook there.”

So that was it.

Stella nodded, knowing that most people who studied abroad learned to cook because they couldn’t get used to foreign food.

Not dwelling on it, she eagerly picked up a sandwich.

“Wow!” Stella closed her eyes, savoring the flavor.

Brian sat next to her with a glass of water. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, “Was it that good?”

“It’s really good. Grilling them adds so much flavor. The crispy exterior and the gooey cheese inside, you’re quite the chef!” She gave him a thumbs up.

Brian smiled. “If you like it spicy, try dipping them in this hot sauce.”

Stella noticed the hot sauce on the tray and was a bit curious. “How did you know I like this kind of hot

sauce?”

Brian hesitated for a moment before casually replying. Just a lucky guess.

The atmosphere during their late–night snack was initially pleasant.

But ten minutes later, things took a turn, and an awkward silence settled in.

Brian had disappeared for a quick shower.

When he returned, he emerged from the bathroom wearing nothing but a white towel wrapped around his waist, revealing his sculpted physique and eight–pack abs. It was enough to make anyone’s heart skip a

beat.

Stella found herself nervously focusing on her grilled cheese sandwich and was unable to meet his gaze.

Brian let out a chuckle as he grabbed the ointment and gently lifted her dainty foot.

Holding a plate of grilled cheese sandwiches, Stella froze. Her eyes widened with confusion. “What are you doing?”

“Just checking on those blisters on your foot,” he said, unwrapping the bandage. The blisters had scabbed over. “Does it still hurt?”

“I’ve been wearing sneakers lately, so it doesn’t hurt much.”

Stella tried to pull her foot away, but he held it firmly. Even if it’s healing, you have to keep applying the ointment to prevent infection.”

He got some ointment out, and, without caring if her foot was dirty, used a cotton swab to apply it gently.

Stella gazed at his handsome face, her eyelashes fluttering lightly.

She wondered why he was suddenly being so gentle.
