Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Stella was delighted. The usually sly and smooth–talking Jessica didn’t dare utter a word in front of Alfred.

Stella walked over and supported Alfred,

Alfred grumbled, “Stella, you should stand up for yourself if those women used your husband’s money. Send a lawyer’s letters if necessary and take what’s yours. Half of that money belongs to you. If you don’t have a lawyer, just tell me, and I’ll lend you one.”

Jessica’s face drained of color and her eyes watered.  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Alfred ignored her and said to Stella, “Come, let’s go to your office and chat there. Don’t let these nobodies affect your mood.”

“Alright.” Stella helped Alfred upstairs. “Grandpa, be careful on the stairs.”

Alfred, despite being 80 years old, walked steadily. He was supported by Stella while walking toward her office.

Jessica followed them upstairs before falling to Alfred’s feet with a teary gaze. “Grandpa, I’m pregnant with Brian’s child. For the sake of the child, please give me a chance.”

Stella stiffened at this. She didn’t expect Jessica to be so shameless and pressure Alfred with the news.

However, Alfred was composed. He studied Jessica’s belly before asking, “Is the child in your belly really Brian’s?”

Jessica trembled and answered, “Yes, it’s his.”

“Is that so?” Alfred scratched his beard calmly. I’m not that easily fooled. You think I’ll believe it just because you say so?”

Stella was shocked and glanced at Jessica.

Jessica lowered her head, trembling as she cried out, Grandpa, I’m telling the truth. I wouldn’t dare lie to you…

Alfred chuckled. “Alright. I’ve heard that a test called Amniocentesis could determine who the father of the child is. Since you claim this child is Brian’s, why don’t we get the test?

Jessica’s expression shifted.

Alfred noticed her reaction and his gaze sharpened. “Ms. Xenos, do you dare to take the test?”

Alfred was once a powerful figure and his gaze was as sharp and stern as always.

Jessica felt exposed under his gaze but she wasn’t a fool. After she steadied herself, she softly whispered, “Grandpa, this is a descendant of the Foley family. Amniocentesis is risky, and I’m only three months pregnant. How could you bear to make me take this test? What if something goes wrong?”

“Keep acting.” Alfred narrowed his eyes. “You may delay it now but you can’t escape forever. This child

will be born eventually and have to undergo a paternity test. If it really is a descendant of the Foley family.

knowing your parents‘ nature, wouldn’t they have already done the test and announced it?”

Jessica was sweating profusely but insisted, “Grandpa, I’m not lying. This child is really Brian’s.”

Alfred laughed. “Fine, I’ll spare you for now. In six months, when you give birth, I’ll personally have the paternity test done. If you dare deceive me, I’ll make your life a living hell.”

Jessica shivered in fear and would have collapsed if she wasn’t already on her knees.

“Get out of my sight. You disgust me,” Alfred said. The butler immediately stepped forward and escorted Jessica out.

After Jessica left, Alfred sat on the couch and looked at Stella. “What? Are you not even going to offer me

tea?”
