Stella approached Jessica and examined the dress. She had never seen the dress outside of pictures. before, which didn’t show the details of the cuts. Upon seeing it, it was clear that the cuts were made with a knife.
Stella smiled. “Sorry, Ms. Xenos. Our studio won’t accept returns or exchanges outside of quality issues.”
“Isn’t this a quality issue?” Jessica pointed to the cuts on the dress.
Stella called over her assistant and provided the video taken before the dress was packed. “Please have a look at this, Ms. Xenos. We take a packing video of each dress before sending it out. If it weren’t for you saying you had nothing to wear last night, I wouldn’t have bothered to come over.
“I wanted to help fix the dress since it cost a fortune. But I won’t accept you questioning the quality of our dresses.”
After watching the video, Jessica’s face turned pale. “If it was fine during the packing, why was it damaged when I received it?”
Stella suggested, “Maybe you accidentally used too much force while opening the package and cut the dress. These dresses are delicate, and a knife could easily damage them.”
“How could it possibly be my fault?” Jessica rolled her eyes.
“Then tell me, Ms. Xenos, who opened the package? Was it you or your maid? If it was your maid, maybe she lied to avoid getting in trouble,” Stella said.
Jessica was at a loss for words. Carrie opened the package and claimed it was already damaged when she did.
Stella continued, “If you have any other doubts, please call the courier company instead. They will have surveillance footage that reveals the perpetrator.”
In short, the dress wouldn’t have left Starlight Couture in that condition.
Jessica bit her lip, realizing she couldn’t return the dress. “Stella, I used to think highly of you. But I didn’t expect you to be so sly. You came to my birthday party to ruin it and return to Yolvencrest Estate after.”
She continued, “You always said you wished Brian and I happiness, and that we were a good match. Is this how you show your blessing?”
Despite Jessica’s soft tone, every word stung.
Stella narrowed her eyes. “I misjudged you too. I thought you were a nice girl. It turns out you’re very manipulative, constantly setting me up.”
“Stella, what have I done to make you misunderstand me?” Jessica feigned innocence.
“You seduced Stella’s husband,” a stern voice came from behind.
Stella turned around.
Alfred, along with his butler, stood at the door. His white hair was nicely styled, and he looked vigorous.

“I heard that brat attended some girl’s birthday party last night, so I came to check.” Alfred glanced at

Jessica was frightened and cautiously greeted, “Hello, Grandpa.”
“Who are you calling ‘Grandpa‘?” Alfred snorted. “I don’t have such a shameless granddaughter.”
Jessica stiffened.
Alfred walked over and glanced at the dress on the counter. With a flick of his cane, he knocked it to the ground, insulting Jessica with the act.
Jessica’s expression soured.
