Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 105

Chapter 105

“How she feels isn’t your concern. Just focus on your work and pay off your debt,” Brian said before standing up to leave the room.

Stella wanted to strangle him.

She slumped back onto the couch, feeling utterly drained and defeated.

She wondered how she had ended up with such a jerk,

Not only did he leave her with nothing after the divorce, but he also wanted the bag back.

Later that night, Brian quietly entered the room.

Stella was sound asleep. With one long leg thrown over the blanket, her skirt had hiked up to her waist.

“Always kicking off the covers.”

Brian shook his head. He turned on a dim light and carefully applied ointment to the blisters on her feet.

He silently stared at her before gently rubbing her cheek.

Stella, half–asleep, vaguely sensed someone attending to her feet.

She wondered who it could be.  Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

The next morning, Yvonne knocked on the door. “Mrs. Foley, are you up?”

“What is it?” Stella groggily replied with a hoarse voice

Yvonne entered the room. “Mr. Foley wants to see you

“Why?” Stella asked, rubbing her eyes. She noticed her feet were wrapped in bandages.

How did that happen? Did Brian tend to her wounds last night? The thought shook her up inside.

She walked to the master bedroom and pushed open the door, Brian was sitting on the couch. His tall frame was draped in a black robe. He looked both aloof and captivating

She couldn’t help but glance at his left leg. He had fractured it before so she wondered if it had healed

now

He had moved effortlessly when he carried her yesterday, so his leg must be fine.

“What are you looking at?” Brian asked.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she approached him. “Nothing. Why did you call me?”

“Take a look.” Brian handed her a document.

Stella glanced at it.

Chappos

It was a 40 thousand dollar legal notice.

She had nearly torn the paper in half.

“I told you, I don’t have the money!” she exclaimed.

Brian looked at her calmly. “If you don’t have the money, read the rest of it.”

Stella scanned the document, which stated she would work off the debt as a maid, earning 3 thousand a month until the 40 thousand dollars was paid off.

She did the math and her eyes widened. “At 3 thousand a month, it will take over a year to pay off 40 thousand dollars!

“If you don’t like it, pay me the money,” Brian said fir

“Is there another way?”

firmly

Brian’s gaze lingered on her body, and she quickly covered her chest. “Stop! I’m not doing that!”

“Then just work as a maid,” Brian said, picking up his phone. “Now, fetch my clothes.”

Stella walked to the wardrobe, grumbling to herself.

Working as a maid here was no different from her previous life–except now it was even more humiliating.
