My Wife Wants a Divorce by Red Little Fruit

Chapter 995 Julien Said Goodbye Early in the Morning

Sydney nodded right away. "Yes. You worry about my health and ask me to have a comprehensive physical examination. So do I. I can't have the examination alone, and you should have it with me. Otherwise,

I'll feel unfair."

She shot a glance at him and pouted her lips.

Having a physical examination would not be a pleasant experience.

She felt it was tormenting, especially when doing the gastroscope.

Julien fell silent at the sight of her pouted lips.

Well, he also knew that she would feel unfair if he asked her to have a comprehensive physical examination but he didn't have it.

At the same time, it would make her doubtful.

So, he had to agree.

He coughed lightly and replied, "Okay, I'll have the examination."

Hearing his words, Sydney smiled happily. "That's great. I'll go to the hospital with you in a few days."

Julien shook his head resignedly when he saw her smile with curved eyes. "Fine."

It was already two o'clock in the morning when they reached Shallow Bay.

Sydney couldn't keep awake and fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Julien didn't wake her up even if they arrived at Shallow Bay. Instead, he bent down, carried her up, and took her into the elevator to return to the apartment.

After walking into the apartment, he removed her makeup, washed her face, brushed her teeth, and cleaned her body. He treated her as a little baby.

It was almost three o'clock when he finished doing these things. Even though Julien was an energetic person, he couldn't help but feel tired at the moment.

He lifted the quilt and lay down on the bed. When he looked down and found Sydney subconsciously burrowing into his arms, he let out a chuckle, said goodnight to her, and turned off the bedside lamp. After holding her tight, he shut his eyes.

When Julien woke up, it was six o'clock in the morning.

He was awoken by a phone call. When he opened his eyes, it was still dark. The curtains were half closed, and he could still see the gray sky and the moon.

He just cast a look at the outside and withdrew his eyes. Then he took his phone and answered the call.

Instead of raising the phone to his ear, he turned his head and looked at Sydney, who was sleeping in his arms.

Sure that she hadn't been woken up, he spoke with relief and in a low voice, "What's up?"

"Mr. Flint, we've caught that old bastard," Zach said in a serious tone on the other end of the phone.

At Zach's words, Julien narrowed his eyes immediately. "I see. I'll go there right away. Guard him. Don't let him escape."

"Yes, Mr. Flint," Zach responded.

Julien hung up and put down his phone.

That old bastard mentioned by Zach was the boss of the factory that Sydney had cooperated with.

As Julien knew that Dallin's assistant had gone to ZX and Perfect Parts, he ordered Zach to investigate what Dallin's assistant had done in the two companies and whether he wanted to make trouble for Sydney.

After all, both companies had cooperated with Sydney before.

During the day yesterday, Zach went to Perfect Parts.

After Michael reacquired SweetHeart from Sydney, he renamed it Perfect Parts. He didn't work with Skylight Corporation during this period.

Michael told Zach that there was indeed an assistant called Neil who had met him and asked him about his cooperation with Skylight Corporation. And Neil left after learning that he hadn't cooperated with Skylight Corporation for two months.

Afterward, Zach then went to ZX, only to find that the boss of ZX had run away two days before and that ZX had been sold to someone else within a very short space of time.

So, Zach couldn't investigate what Neil had done in ZX.

Fortunately, the former boss of ZX didn't escape out of Port City, and Zach's men caught him in the end.

Julien was going to interrogate what ZX's former boss promised Dallin and why he chose to flee.

If ZX's former boss didn't tell Julien anything, Julien would extract his teeth one by one!

When Julien thought about it, an expression of coldness appeared on his face but soon disappeared. He looked at Sydney and returned to his tenderness. He stretched out his hand to gently touch the outline of her face with the back of his hand.

Probably feeling itchy, Sydney couldn't help shrinking her head, furrowing her eyebrows and complaining, "Don't touch me."

Julien chuckled and withdrew his hand.

When Sydney heard his chuckle, she thought she was dreaming. But when she opened her eyes slightly and saw Julien sitting on the bed, she realized that the laughter she had heard was real. She was not dreaming.

"Are you... going to get up?" Sydney asked while giving a yawn.

Julien nodded. "Zach called me just now. There are some things I need to deal with personally."

"But it's still dark now." Sydney raised her neck and looked at the moon high in the sky through the floor-to-ceiling window.

Julien fondled her face. "I know. But these things are somewhat urgent, and I have to handle them."

"It turns out to be so." Sydney blinked her eyes. "Fine. Go handle them."

Julien nodded. "Go on sleeping. You're not fully awake now, and it's only past six o'clock. You can still sleep for a while. I'll ask someone to bring you the breakfast. Remember to take it." "Okay," Sydney replied and gave another yawn.

As Julien noticed tears coming out of her eyes when she yawned, he smiled softly and lowered his head to kiss her forehead. "Sleep. I'm leaving."

Then he lifted the quilt and got up. Without putting on his shoes, he stood beside the bed and tucked her in so that she would not catch a cold.

Sydney was very sleepy at the moment. Her eyes were half open, and her voice was languid. "Fine. Be careful on the road and drive slowly."

"Okay." Julien lowered his head again and kissed her red lips gently before straightening up. After he stared at her for another while and found that she closed her eyes and fell asleep, he walked out of the room lightly. The stars and the moon were still in the sky when he left the apartment.

Two hours after he left, Sydney woke up.

After waking up, she sat on the bed in a daze and rubbed her forehead with a blank expression.

She had a vague recollection that she seemed to have woken up and talked with Julien.

Sydney turned to look at the place where Julien had slept. She reached out to touch it, but it was already cold there.

So, Julien had left.

She was certain about her feeling. She did wake up once in the morning and said goodbye to Julien when he was about to leave.

This was the first time that she had said goodbye to him so early in the morning.

Sydney smiled.

Julien always left early in the morning, and she usually had no idea of it and rarely said goodbye to him, which she felt regretted sometimes. But now the regret finally dissipated.

She rubbed her messy hair, lifted the quilt and got up. After washing up, she stepped out of the door to get her breakfast. Having had breakfast, she rested for a while. Later, she changed her clothes, put on makeup and drove to Skylight Corporation. Sean had been waiting for Sydney outside her office.

Seeing Sydney come, Sean greeted her with a smile. "Morning, Ms. Raines."

"Morning, Sean." Sydney also gave a smile. She stopped and looked at Sean's abdomen. "When will you go to the hospital?"

Sean lowered her eyes and replied with a faint smile, "This weekend."

Sydney nodded and replied, "Good. Finish it as soon as possible, and you'll recover sooner."

"Yes." Sean opened the door for her.

Sydney moved into her office, followed by Sean.

"By the way, Ms. Raines, you didn't come up yesterday and said that you were going to a hospital for a physical examination. Are you uncomfortable?" Sean asked with concern. Feeling warm, Sydney pulled out her chair and responded, "Don't worry. I'm alright. It's just a routine examination."

"I see." Sean nodded and handed Sydney the agenda without asking her again.
