Chapter 994 Dallin Flew into a Rage
Sydney snorted coldly. "I can solve this problem myself, and I don't need to ask him for help."
"What?" Dallin was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed. When hearing this, he immediately stood up from the sofa with an anxious look. "You didn't ask Julien for help?"
"Mr. Sullivan, why are you so emotional after knowing this? Or do you really want me to ask him for help?" Sydney rolled her eyes slightly with a thoughtful expression.
Dallin pinched the dragon-shaped ornament on his cane, and the veins stood out on the back of his hand due to his great strength. "That's not true. I'm just surprised that you didn't even ask Julien to help you with such things. It seems that I underestimated you. You are more capable and resourceful than I have expected."
Sydney pursed her lips. "You flattered me, Mr. Sullivan. I am not worthy of your compliment."
When Dallin heard her sarcasm, a hint of cruelty appeared on his gloomy face.
Now he was almost completely sure that she hadn't asked Julien for help.
Perhaps his plan of using her to deal with Julien had to be temporarily suspended.
"Ms. Raines." Dallin closed his eyes, managed to suppress his anger and sat back on the sofa. "Two days ago, I said that I would give you two days to consider whether to reconcile with me, but now it seems that there is no need for us to meet today."
"We never need to meet," Sydney answered bluntly in a cold voice.
Dallin's face turned gloomier. "Ms. Raines, you really go too far. I wonder if you have the ability to pay for your rudeness."
Sydney's eyes trembled slightly. "Mr. Sullivan, what do you mean? Do you want to attack me if you cannot achieve your goal?"
Dallin didn't directly answer her question, but he said pointedly, "Who knows? Well, Ms. Raines, my purpose in calling you is to know your decision. Now that I have got the answer, there is no need to continue the call. Let's stop here."
"Wait a minute," Sydney suddenly said.
Dallin was a little surprised. "Ms. Raines, do you have anything else to say?"
"Mr. Sullivan, have you forgotten something?" A trace of anger appeared in Sydney's eyes.
Dallin's face wrinkled. "What is it?"
"Shouldn't you give me back the parts you robbed? I paid for them, but you robbed them away without saying a word or giving me any compensation. I can only define your behavior as robbery. Shouldn't you return them? Even if you refuse to do so, you should return the money. If you rob someone's goods without making compensation, that will be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!" Sydney said in a cold voice while clenching her fists tightly.
Dallin froze. He obviously didn't expect her to make such a request.
Dallin asked in disbelief, "What? You want me to return the parts or give the money back to you?"
"Of course." Sydney pursed her lips and continued, "I made it very clear just now that since you took away my parts without paying, it's a robbery, and you need to return the parts or at least pay for them." Overwhelmed with anger, Dallin even burst into laughter. "How dare you ask me to return the parts or pay the money? To tell you the truth, I have been in Jackal City for so many years, and I've done a lot of similar things, but no one has asked me for money yet. Ms. Raines, you are the first one."
"I am really honored." Sydney put on a sarcastic expression.
"But in your opinion, it seems to be a glorious thing to rob people's goods without paying. If that's the case, I have great doubts about your moral character."
She had almost bluntly said that Dallin was an immoral robber.
Having a high social status, Dallin used to live high on the hog. This was the first time that he had been ridiculed like this.
He knew that many people were dissatisfied with him and scolded him privately, but no one ever dared to do so in front of him.
He really hated this woman bitterly.
"Ms. Raines, you are the most daring woman I have ever seen, for you aren't afraid of talking to me like this. I don't care if you have Julien's support or not. I will remember your humiliation to me today, and you will pay for your stupidity." Dallin sneered and hung up the phone.
Sydney also moved the phone away from her ear. However, she didn't show a happy expression because of her victory. On the contrary, she frowned with a depressed look.
She seemed a little impulsive just now.
She had planned to argue with Dallin to get those parts back. Even if she couldn't get them back, she would try to get compensation.
But she really didn't expect Dallin to be so shameless. Robbery had become such a routine for him that he thought it was wrong for the victim to ask for compensation, regardless of the fact that he had made a mistake in the first place.
In Dallin's view, those robbed by him should feel honored. If the victim demanded the return of the goods or compensation, it would be unforgivable.
This was why Sydney felt so disgusted and angry by his shamelessness, and she really couldn't help mocking him.
She felt very happy when mocking him, but now she realized that she had been too impulsive. Her identity and strength were far inferior to Dallin's, and her offense to him would undoubtedly worsen the relationship between them.
Dallin was obviously a narrow-minded man. He not only held onto grudges, but also had a bad personality. He would probably find a way to make trouble for her.
However, Sydney did not regret doing so. She just thought it was a little inappropriate to ridicule Dallin in such a blunt way.
While thinking of this, Sydney fretted and scratched her hair.
She could still easily get emotional and impulsive.
This was definitely not going to work, and she might suffer from this in the future.
But since she had already been in trouble, it was no use thinking about it. She'd better think about how to deal with Dallin's revenge.
"Leaf." Julien's voice came from the door.
Sydney blinked, immediately adjusted her mentality, looked up at him and forced a smile. "You're back. What took you so long?"
"I received a phone call from Zach on the way back," Julien came in and said.
Sydney nodded and didn't ask again.
Julien looked at her pretty face, and finally his eyes rested on her head. "What's wrong with your hair?" he asked, frowning slightly.
"Ah?" Sydney stretched out her hand to touch her hair. It was really tousled.
She remembered that she had just scratched her hair irritably, and it should be at that time that her hair became messy.
Sydney adjusted her hair and lowered her eyes to hide her expression. She replied with a smile, "I think I just messed up my hair on the armrest of the sofa. Before you came back, I leaned on it for a while." Julien nodded without any doubt. He took the bag from her shoulder and carried it by himself. "Well, let's go home."
Sydney looked at him and nodded with a smile. "OK."
She took the initiative to hold his hand.
Julien was stunned at first, and then he smiled and clenched her hand tightly, as if he was afraid that she would get lost later.
Sydney was amused by his reaction. "By the way, you can have a thorough physical examination when you are free."
"Me?" Julien paused slightly. Then he resumed his stride and took her to the elevator.
