Chapter Gud Wife 104
Chapter 0104
Mary had been in the clinic for a week. While she was making good progress, there were moments when she was alone in her room or walking through the gardens where silent tears would fall. She cried quietly, trying to keep her pain to herself.
She felt so empty, and that hollow feeling refused to leave no matter how hard she tried. Walking made her legs ache, and at night, when she crawled into bed she would crumble. The week she had spent with Maximus had left a mark on her. She missed the warmth of his embrace, and even when she pulled the blanket tightly around herself to stop trembling, her heart shivered with sorrow.
"Maximus, we made vows when we got married, and you've broken them. You've disappointed me. I just want this to end. You've taken my soul, my heart what's left for me to give? You have it all.
"I've realized that who I am, and who I've been, will never be enough for you. Your heart is out of my reach. Maybe you think I don't know what you've done, but I do-and it's tearing me apart. It hurts to think
I may never see you again," she said aloud, trying to release the weight crushing her heart.
The days passed quickly, and soon, three weeks had gone by. Mary was finally able to leave the clinic and begin attending periodic check-ups. While she wasn't fully recovered, Peter had promised to stay with her for that time, and he intended to keep his word. Dr. Hill strongly encouraged her to keep attending her appointments, stressing that there was still much work to be done, though it was now in Mary's hands.
"Mary, you're always welcome here. I truly hope to see you next week. And never forget-you are important! You are valuable, strong, and wise. You have an entire world ahead of you!"
"Thank you, Dr. Hill! Truly, thank you for everything promise I'll be here next week, no excuses!"
Mary packed the few belongings she had brought with her and headed out of the building. Waiting for her was a sleek black Maserati. Peter and Aurora stepped out, with Aurora enthusiastically throwing herself into Mary's arms.
"Mary! My friend! It feels like it's been forever!" Aurora exclaimed, hugging her so tightly it almost knocked the wind out of her.
"Aurora, calm down! Calm down! I'm fine now. We're heading home, right, Peter?"
"That's right. It's time to go home. We're off to Galeal Angostina has already prepared your room. She just dusted it-it's exactly as you left it."
"What? We're leaving already? No way! I met a handsome doctor here!" Aurora pouted dramatically. "Did you get his number?" Peter teased.
"No! You didn't give me time! You said it was late, remember? Just because you're good-looking and
have no trouble finding girlfriends doesn't mean it's easy for me. I'm not attractive! And that doctor was Aurora trailed off with an exaggerated sigh.

"Alright, alright, let's go! Now you see why I missed you two?" Mary laughed. "Anyone who didn't know you would think you were a couple."

"Ha! He wishes he could date someone like me!" Auro a shot Peter a sideways glance.
You're insane! I couldn't be with someone as crazy as you!"
"Come on, you two! It's time to go. If we don't leave, go back to the clinic,"

Laughing, the three of them got into the car and headed for the Palmer mansion. Mary was going to pick her belongings and then leave for Galea. The family lawyer had already delivered the divorce agreement to the clinic, and Mary had signed it without hesitation. She had requested no property from Maximus, asking only for an amicable separation.
Catherine felt a deep sadness watching Mary prepare to leave the house. The much-anticipated visit from her grandfather, Albert, had to be postponed due to Mary's health, but they planned to organize a trip soon so she could meet him at last.
"Grandma Catherine, thank you for everything, I know these aren't the best circumstances, but it's time for me to go. I need to start my life far from everything that's hurt me. Unfortunately, this house holds too many painful memories. Please forgive me," Mary said softly.
"My dear, there's nothing to forgive. Forgive me," Catherine replied, tears streaming down her face. "I was the one who put you in this situation. If I had known it would end this way, I never would have let you marry him.
After a few heartfelt hugs and tears, Mary stepped out of the mansion-only to come face to face with Maximus, who was holding the divorce papers.
