My ex-husband is seeking a second chance

Chapter 196

Chapter 196

Carson still needed to be observed and rest in the hospital to prevent potential complications or aftereffects.

Pmily had handpicked two experienced servants from Rose Garden with nursing backgrounds to look after Carson. However, Pearl couldn’t shake her concem and even considered moving her work to the hospital to stay with Carson, a proposal that Carson quickly dismissed

Tot truly incapacitated, you know. You go ahead and focus on your work!”

Lindsay volunteered to stay by Carson’s bedside. She explained that she could work on her design projects from anywhere. given her flexible schedule at the company. Additionally, having Carson’s guidance might even spark new creative ideas. Mason presented Pearl with her schedule for the upcoming week.

You indeed have a busy week ahead. You must also travel to White Town for a scheduled surgery.”

Despite her hectic schedule. Pearl couldn’t shake off her worries. She canceled or rescheduled as many appointments as

ssible to spend more time at the hospital

She knew that when someone was ill, they were most vulnerable and lonely.

Carson’s three sons were quite the mix–some deceased, some crippled, and one with no sense of decency. Fortunately, his

ddaughter was there, showing her filial devotion by his bedside.

Pearl, carrying Carson’s favorite fruits and snacks, returned to the hospital again. As she approached the room, she inquired, “Has Errol visited Carson during his hospital stay?”

“No responded Mason. “Errol heard from someone that you had broken Ralph’s leg, and he’s too frightened to come. Moreover. I’ve heard…

Pearl furrowed her brow, her patience wearing thin. She said. “If you’ve got something to share, don’t keep me waiting Mason scratched his nose, noticing that Ms. Woolery had become progressively more candid and assertive in her speech lately

He swiftly relayed the most recent information he had gathered. “It appears that Errol may be experiencing guilt or anxiety. He’s contemplating emigrating, and it doesn’t seem he intends to bring Xyavion along.”

Pearl tied her head and inquired. “Has he found a new love interest?”

Mason nodded, displaying a hint of admiration. “You’re absolutely right.

Pearl shot him disdainfully and remarked, “Have you suddenly turned into Boone or what? What’s with these comparisons to

cunuchst

This was the second time she had mistakenly referred him as Boone, and it was beginning to grate on him. After all, Mason was a rugged, fearless man, and being compared to a eunuch was insulting.

Deep down. Mason was growing increasingly frustrated. Handling these two sisters was turning out to be quite the ordeal, and he couldn’t afford to upset either of them.

Clearing his throat. Mason continued, “Based on the latest information I’ve obtained, Xyavion’s plastic surgery in Haningburgh was a complete failure, leaving her face in ruins. This has caused her to lose Errol’s favor. Errol has been romantically involved with a female college student lately. She’s interested in studying abroad but lacks the financial means, so. likely, this relationship with Errol is partly motivated by her desire to secure financial support for her education.”

Pearl furrowed her brow and muttered. “A younger college student?”

Yes, she’s nineteen, even younger than Lindsay.”

Pearl let out a low curse. “What a damn scoundrel

While Mason silently agreed with her sentiment, he had to remember that this scoundrel would be his future father–in–law.

He chose to tread lightly and continued, “Xyavion isn’t sitting idle either. She’s been quietly transferring his assets, and it’s rumored that Errol found out. They’ve had a heated argument, and their relationship seems to be on the brink of collapse. Xyavion has already hired a divorce lawyer and is gathering evidence of Errol’s infidelity and domestic abuse. She hopes to win custody of their child and secure a significant portion of their assets, leaving Errol with next to nothing”

Errol was deeply entangled in a bitter divorce battle, trying to balance his conflicts with Xyavion and soothing his newfound love interest. He was too preoccupied to spare much thought for Carson.

Pearl listened intently and then spoke coolly. This isn’t chaotic enough. You can make his life even more complicated. The paternity test results for Xyavion’s son with Errol are already out. Find an opportunity to send it to his new lover?

Mason blinked, aware of Ms. Woolery’s reputation for orchestrating intricate plans.

Pearl had been preoccupied lately, but troublesome individuals often dug their graves. Errol had been wearing that proverbial “cuckold’s hat” for quite some time now. In a divorce battle like this, neither side would likely come out with much of the wealth they were fighting over.

Furthermore, in this divorce battle, regardless of who emerged victorious or defeated, neither party would ultimately be left with no share of their assets

Pearl continued calmly, “Once their divorce proceedings are concluded, arrange for the court to freeze Errol’s assets. Everything registered under his name, except the counterfeit goods he managed to get rid of, whether they’re movable or immovable assets, are all mine. Whenever I decide to reclaim them, it’ll be under my terms.”

In other words, Pearl was able to effortlessly transform Errol from a wealthy man into an impoverished one with a mere flick of her finger. Would there still be young ladies to accompany him then?

Wealthy middle–aged men were called “uncles,” but when they lost their riches, they were nothing more than impoverished

old men.

Uncle? He might as well be called “grandpa.”

Even if Errol had a successful immigration, surviving abroad without money would be an uphill battle. He might have to. resort to begging to make ends meet.

In any case, Errol’s future and destiny were hanging by a thread, entirely at the mercy of Pearl’s whims.

She wouldn’t let him off the hook too quickly.

Pushing open the door to the hospital room, Pearl entered with a smile and cheerfully greeted, “Carson”

However, her smile froze in place when she saw the unexpected visitors in the room. She stood there, stunned.

Lucas sat on the bedside, casually peeling a pear, and responded calmly, “Hey there!”

Pearl’s expression darkened, and she picked up a pear from the basket and hurled it toward Lucas.

Lucas skillfully speared the fruit with his knife, not bothering to wash it. With a hearty crunch, he took a big bite. Grinning broadly at Pearl, he then offered the freshly sliced pear to Carson. “Carson, here you go. Enjoy!”

He couldn’t resist adding, “I was just speaking up for you a moment ago.”

Carson grinned as he accepted the pear.

“Why are you two here?”

Pearl’s expression remained unenthusiastic upon seeing Lucas and Mare. It was evident she wasn’t too thrilled about their visit. “We’re here to visit Carson, Lucas replied casually. “The famous ‘Carving Carson‘ is a name that’s known far and wide. Meeting him today is a great privilege.”

Pearl couldn’t believe her ears. “You know about ‘Carving Carson?”

“Of course!” Lucas said confidently. “Do I look like someone who lacks knowledge and awareness?”

Mart couldn’t help but laugh and retorted. “Well, appearances can be deceiving, but I guess you’ve got us figured out.”

Without missing a beat, he exposed Lucas, saying. “Don’t pay any mind to his boasting. He just dug up that info online not too

long agu

Linday and Mason laughed at the banter while Carson continued to enjoy his pear, his gaze shifting between Pearl, Marc,

Lucas

Lucas was visibly irritated and exclaimed, “Do you have to spoil the fun like that? Are we brothers?”

Marr shot him a disdamful look. “Well, aren’t we often called ‘phony siblings‘ after all?”

Lucas was so frustrated he contemplated flipping him off, but he held back.

and

With all the gossip flying around, it was quite the spectacle, especially considering there were no romantic feelings involved

between them.

“Are you guys really brothers? Aren’t you rivals

Carson suddenly chimed in, clearly intrigued. “You two young fellas seem to have your eyes on Pearl, don’t you?”

Marc responded with a puzzled look, “Well…”

Lucas scratched his head, also at a loss for words.

Pearl furrowed her brow, “Carson…

Despite their age, why were they still so nosy

“What’s there to be coy about? It’s perfectly normal for folks to be drawn to each other.” Carson glanced at Marc and then at Lucas, wearing a sly grin. “Pearl, do you have a preference?”

Pearl hesitated for a moment
