Moonville Series 1: Secret Lovers

It's Business Week at CPRU Business School!

The long-week celebration started Monday morning with a short program. Then after, the competition began with the mini games that included sack race, relays, and other simple games that added fun to the event. It also aims to hone the camaraderie of every organization.

Each department in Business School is counted as one group that has their own signature color. For the Accountancy Department, the color assigned was red, and the students were asked to wear the color assigned to them. Angel wore a red V-neck T-shirt that she paired with brown skinny jeans accentuated by a white belt and cream wedge sandals.

After the mini games, the candidates for Mr. and Ms. Business School will be introduced. That's the reason why Bryan could not enjoy the fun mini games as his nerves are taking over him. He thought he has already got used to this pageant thing because of the pre-pageant events he did. Now he knows that the main event is really different.

"Bryan!"

He looked at the person who called him and saw Angel walking towards him. They are now at the backstage and is waiting for them to be called for their initial presentation. "Are you ready?" Angel asked him.

"I'm very nervous." He wasn't able to hide the anxiety he's feeling.

"Just relax. You can do this. You just need to walk on the stage, then it's done."

"That's the thing. I need to present myself in front of a lot of people. I haven't done that in my whole life." "You're a basketball player, right?"

"That's different." He sat down at the Monoblock chair near him. "Then, I also need to introduce myself."

Angel sat beside him. She then held his hand and said, "You can do it. Just think like this: Hannah agreed that you will be the representative of JPIA in this competition because you're Bryan de Vera. He knows you have a big chance to win because you're good-looking and smart. You're kind and very cool, especially because you're a member of the varsity team. And you don't have to do any other act whatsoever. Just you, standing there, is enough. So just be yourself because your self is already enough for you to be here."

Bryan smiled. He doesn't know if Angel said those things just to appease him, or because she meant every word. But whatever the reason is, somehow, he felt better and more confident.

He was able to joke again. "I'm okay with the part you said I'm good-looking."

"Fine." Angel rolled her eyes.

Bryan smirked, and Angel laughed at him.

"You can do this, Bryan de Vera."

The participants for the pageant were finally called. Bryan felt nervous again, but after remembering what Angel said to him, and as he felt her hand holding his, that anxiety immediately disappeared. "Wait for me here," he told Angel. The latter nodded and smiled.

Bryan joined the other contestants of the pageant. He glanced at Angel for the last time before going out on the stage. The auditorium is full of students from Business School. It seems like the whole population of the school was there, and they all shouted when the candidates emerged on the stage.

Bryan looked around, and upon seeing the audience, he started to panic again and he can't think of what to do. But Angel's words seem to resonate in his head.

'Just be yourself.'

And be himself is what he did. He didn't bother walking like a model on the catwalk. He just walked there, showed everybody the confident Bryan de Vera that he is. Everyone seemed to like what he did, though, because of the cheer he heard from the audience. Because of that, his confidence suddenly increased.

Angel stayed at the back stage and watch Bryan's performance. He was full of confidence again, unlike the nervous guy she talked with earlier.

The ever confident Bryan de Vera was back. She had always known him for being a confident guy. It was actually one of the things that she hated about him. He's too confident to the point of arrogance. Or maybe, she's just the only one thinking as such. Other girls like that about Bryan, making him one of the heartthrobs in Business School, if not in the entire CPRU.

After modeling in front of the audience, the contestants introduced themselves one by one per pair. The representatives of JPIA were the last, and first to introduce himself was Bryan, followed by Kim.

"A pleasant morning to everyone. This is Bryan de Vera, representing the Department of Accountancy."

Everyone cheered for him, and a lot of girls swoon because of his charms. Even Angel smiled as she saw the reaction of the audience to Bryan. He really is a natural born charmer. It's not surprising that a lot of people like him. After that, the contestants went back to the back stage. Angel waited for Bryan as promised. She went back to the mono block chair she was sitting on before he left.

"That was great! Congratulations!" she told him when he came to her.

Bryan suddenly hugged her. Angel was surprised she wasn't able to move.

"Thank you so much for giving me a boost."

Angel smiled at what he said. And then slowly, she hugged him, too. She felt good holding him, or was it because he's holding her? Whatever it is, she feels good with what Bryan did. She smiled at him when they separated. Bryan smiled back, and for a moment, Angel's world seemed to stop. She's not sure what is happening to her. Was it the hug that they just shared? Was it the red shirt that Bryan is wearing that made him look more handsome? Or was it the manly but good scent of his cologne? Angel suddenly felt mesmerized.

"Bryan!" She literally grabbed him and pulled him to her and kissed him on the lips.

Angel's mind came back to Earth after a short trip from Mars. Oh yeah, the girlfriend is just around the corner. How did she end up thinking and feeling those emotions for Bryan?

"You did well earlier, Honey," Gina said to Bryan.

"Ahm... Thanks." Bryan looked at Angel.

Angel looked away. She slowly made her way to Kim who is gathering her things at that moment.

"Kim, you did great!"

"Thanks, Ate," Kim said. "I was actually very nervous earlier."

"Why did you? You're very beautiful, you know."

Kim smiled at her. Angel smiled back.

"I'll go ahead now."

"Sure, Ate."

Angel rushed out of the back stage. She tried so hard not to look back and just kept walking even though she couldn't help but hear Gina's flirting with Bryan. She just walked quickly so that she could get away from that place and their presence immediately.
