SIX MONTHS LATER

Sophia's POV

over the sky, making the day a gloomy one.

I chose to put on a white overcoat so that I would not have to struggle against the chilly weather. I

was

not a

fan of the winter season.

While I was looking at myself in the mirror, I gave myself a little smile.

"Calm down. Everything will be okay." After taking a deep breath, I whispered this to myself as I tried to look confident.

was a presentation day at my university, and I had been working hard for it all month.

Today The result

of the freshman year had been published, and I topped the score.

Now that I was in my sophomore year of university, I was looking for a job that would allow me to work part-time. So winning this presentation was really important for me. Because they would provide me with the opportunity for an internship at a big company, which would ultimately lead to a permanent job if I were to win.

In the past six months, my life my life had totally changed. That day, as I was I leaving the pack

after having a conversation with Alpha Bryan, my brother received a phone call from the officials, who informed him that he may return to Gamma's position. However, he would have to stay one year in the training quarter under the pack house. Since that day, my mother and I had been living by ourselves. We missed Abraham a lot. He sometimes called us to ask if we were okay. I never failed to reassure him that we were doing perfectly well and that he did not need to be concerned about us.

I knew Bryan hated me a lot. That was why he made the decision for my brother to keep his distance from from me.

"Sophia, are you going for an interview again?" As soon as I descended the stairs, my mother spoke up with a tone that conveyed her disappointment.

My mother always told me not to apply for a job. She advised me to enjoy my life right now, have I study hard.

But I was aware of the reality. Considering the fact that I was an Omega and the pack was bombarded with ravenous wolves, she was worried about my safety.

"Mom, please relax. I am only going to my university. Today, a chief guest is coming. According

to our dean, he is trying his best to bring someone important to this event."

"Oh, who?" her mother asked with a curious tone.

"Sophia, you sh-"

"Mom, trust me. I will always be fine. Everyone knows who my brother is. No one will dare disturb Gamma's sister," I said and chuckled.

In order to alleviate her anxiety, I gave her a hug while smiling confidently.

But I lied to my mother. Due to the fact that I was in a relationship with Bruce, I never disclosed the fact that my brother was the gamma of this pack. In that case, people might fall into the trap of believing that Bruce was the one who assisted my brother in obtaining the position, which is not true. It was my brother's abilities and the amount of effort he put in; this is the reason he was able to get the position, which he had nearly lost because of me.

When I arrived at the university, I noticed my friends were outside.

They were my new friends.

The day I caught Luisa cheating with Bruce, I never spoke to her again. To me, she was nothing but a betrayer of my trust.

But Bruce always tried to talk to me. He had been asking for forgiveness for what he had done. He even cut off all the connections with Luisa.

As a result of this, Luisa became really angry with me. She was under the impression that I was the one who had compelled Bruce to avoid her.

Even after trying so hard to convince Bruce to be with her, Bruce never got back to her. It seemed like Bruce had slipped out of Luisa's hand. So she started to bully me for that.

It was a really terrible experience for me to find that the girl whom I had previously considered to be my best friend turned into my bully.

She always picked on me by spreading lies about me. She told the whole university that I was a gold digger, which was why I was in a relationship with Bruce. After that, everyone started to hate "Sophia"

me.

My friends smiled at me when I stopped in front of them.

"Did you check the presentation?" Sara asked.

I nodded my head. "Yeah. I am going to submit the pen drive and the file to Professor Willson." "Okay, you go ahead," Sara replied, and I walked ahead.

After taking a left turn, I made my way to the cabin of Professor Willson, who was in charge of today's event.

When I knocked on the door, no one replied. To my surprise, there was no one inside when I opened the the door.

I left the cabin and walked to the shadow teachers, who were kind of volunteers for today. They informed me that Professor Wilson was very busy, which meant that I could hand over everything to them. I did what they said and went back to my friends.

I worked really hard on my project. During each academic year, a chosen group of students were given the opportunity to exhibit projects that were intended to showcase their capabilities. After observing all of the presentations, the chief guest would select the one that made the most impression.

"Done submitting?" My other friend, Nolan, asked.

"Yeah."

"Best of luck," Sara said. Nolan nodded his head in agreement. I thanked them.

When I started to think about what I would say during the presentation, my mind started to

wander. There was only one hour left before the event was scheduled to begin.

Right then, this was my life.

studied hard so that I could have a happy future with my mother.

When it was time for the exhibition, everyone started to go to the auditorium.

It was a place that was approximately fifty square meters across. There was enough for close to five hundred students to sit there.

The auditorium had a superb layout and decor. The stage was connected to the light bridge, and the light bridge was connected to the rear wall. Ceiling and wall treatments reflect this. The huge stage was present, along with a sound box of superior quality and a well-functioning projector. sat down with my friends in the section on the left side.

them.

However, to my surprise, my wolf started to howl for no reason.

I frowned. 'What happened to my wolf?"

It brought back memories of the last time my wolf reacted in such a manner, which was when I

found my mate.

Suddenly, my mind began to jumble together recollections from old memories.

In these six months, Alpha Bryan had never contacted me. I also did not tell anyone about our

mate bond.

"May I have your attention, please?" A senior-year student spoke into the microphone.

I emerged from my thoughts and gazed at the stage.

Everyone focused their attention on the stage.

The dean of our university approached the stage and took the microphone to say a few words.

"I am pleased to organize this year's presentation competition. May the best person win!"

I

Everyone began clapping. His speech was lengthy, emphasizing how successful our former students were after graduating from this university.

A few minutes later, he nodded his head as if someone mind linked him to inform him about something.

"Our chief guest has arrived at our university. He is on the way. He is the most powerful man with whom everyone wants to meet for once. So, I thought he'd be the greatest person to analyze you all. We are quite lucky that he accepted our invitation. We'll be blessed to meet him."

Everyone was taken aback as he spoke, as if they realized who he was talking about.

It sounded like the man really had great power in the business world. Otherwise, our dean was a

really strict man. He did not even care about Bruce's status and sometimes tried to discipline him, although he was from the royal family.

"Here he is! Please give a round of applause."

I turned around to see who the successful businessman was that our dean was nonchalantly praising.

But the moment my eyes fell on the person, I was stunned.

Our dean spoke out once again, but this time with a shaky tone.

"Welcome to the Night Shade University, Alpha Bryan."
