He knew these types of girls really well. Whenever he walked past girls, they only wanted to grab his attention. Just like she tried to do yesterday.

He was angry about how she accused his brother just because she saw she became the head Alpha's mate. He assumed she was up to Luna's position now. "Bryan, what are you thinking?" His father, Harry Morrison, asked. He was walking back and forth in the room.

"Dad, relax."

"Relax? How can I relax? You brought the daughter of Moon Valley's Alpha here. What should we do now? What do you plan to do to deal with the situation?"

He frowned at his father. "Do you think I am afraid of the Alpha of the Moon Valley Pack?"

"What? I never said that."

"Dad, maybe you can be afraid of these types of things, but I don't."

"Brya-"

"I am a businessman. I only know the business. He was the one who proposed the marriage one year ago. In order to fulfill the terms of the alliance contract, I agreed to marry his daughter." "So now you will cancel the deal?"

"Never."

Harry was about to say something, but a knock on the door interrupted him.

"Come in," Bryan ordered.

A few maids entered the room. They were holding Sophia.

"What happened to her?" With a grimace on his face, Harry questioned.

"She was standing outside the whole night, so her legs became numb." One of the maids replied. Sophia told them so.

The maids bowed their heads and left the room. Sophia leaned against the wall for support so that she could stand up straight.

She lowered her head in response to the realization that Harry was also present there. She did not want to face anyone.

"Bryan, what do you want to do now?" Harry asked his son.

"Dad, I will let you know. You should go and take a rest now. It's already morning."

Harry wanted to stay and see what his son would do, but his son was very stubborn. However, he was mature enough to do anything. So Harry left the room, leaving Bryan and Sophia alone. Sophia glanced at the closed door and then at Bryan.

After turning around from her, Bryan went to the nightstand and grabbed a packet of cigarettes along with a lighter. He took out a cigarette and lit it up. Then he walked to the window. Sophia looked at his strong back. Even from behind, he looked powerful. There was no doubt that he was the head Alpha.

Bryan puffed on the cigarette and said,

"You have five minutes."

Sophia blinked a few times.

'Five minutes? Was I supposed to give a presentation at a meeting?' She asked herself, but then shoved the thoughts away. Then, she could not afford to waste her time. She cleared her throat.

"Bry-"

"Alpha"

He reminded her with a chilly tone.

"A-Alpha, I came here for my brother."

"What about him?"

"You fired him from his job. It's not an office, but a pack. He is your Gamma. Taking away his position from him was not fair. I jus-"

He turned around to interrupt her.

"So now you will tell me what is fair and unfair?"

Sophia tightened her fists. She had no choice but to speak up for her brother; she could not remain silent.

"He is innocent. Your problem should be with me. I am your mate."

He scoffed at her. "Looks like you are over the moon."

She shook her head. "I am not pleased either. You have your own life. I am no one to destroy it. If you want, you can reject me and live your life with your girlfriend." He nodded his head. "You are stupid, like your words."

He turned around and let out,

"The head Alpha of the Night Shade Pack can't reject his mate. It will take away his position."

"Then what can I do now?"

"Just take the punishment for being someone's mate whom you are not worthy of."

It was a terrible feeling for her when she heard him. Unexpectedly, it caused her heart to hurt.

She did not know why she started to feel that way toward him. But because of the mate bond, she started to feel strange around him—at least her wolf felt it.

"I am sorry that the engagement ceremony that you had planned did not go as planned. I can apologize to anyone you want. Nevertheless, I beg you not to remove my brother from his position. He worked hard for that." "And why would I do that? What will I get?"

"You can make me do anything."

With a raised eyebrow, he turned his head to look at her.

"Anything you said?"

She had no other choice but to comply with his demand, even though she had no idea what he would want her to do.

Consequently, she slowly nodded her head.

They did not even know each other well. Who could have thought that he would end up being her mate?

His dark eyes were intently fixed on her. On the other hand, she was unable to maintain her gaze on him for so long. So she averted her eyes away from him.

He nodded his head and went over to the couch.

He sat on the couch with one leg on top of the other.

His marvelous fingers took hold of the cigarette, making him look like a Greek god in that sitting posture.

He spoke out with his deep voice.

"The head Alpha of the Night Shade Pack can't reject his mate. It's the main law here. I can't change the law that was established by my ancestors a very long time ago." Sophia looked at him..

What did he mean by that? Did that mean he would accept her?

Her heart began to beat unexpectedly, just looking at the mighty man.

"What do you mean, A-Alpha?" she asked with a low voice.

After staring at her for a while, he finally spoke up.

"Since you can do anything, I will take my order back. But you should be ready for reimbursement."

Sophia waited for his demand. Because of what she had done during his engagement ceremony, she thought he would punish her. But he replied with a cold tone.

"Wait for my next command. Until then, stay away from my family, especially my brother."

Hearing him, she started to think about their mate bond. How could she hide it? He was her mate.

As if he could read her mind, he stated,

"It is the law that I can't reject, but there is no law that I must accept.

I will never accept you as my mate."
