Chapter Chapter Thirty-Nine
[Orion’s POV]
I was actually staring at my own Wolf. He was massive. Like bigger than he normally was and He was NOT an Omega. Like not even close.
I could feel him coming closer and closer to me. Soon enough I was face to face with Rain. My White Wolf counter-part. The only other being in the entire world that I had been able to communicate with every day. I smiled as I reached up to touch his soft muzzle.
“You are much bigger in my head than you are in real life.” I said with a bit of a giggle.
“We were beat down little star, but we don’t have to be so little anymore. Mom gave us back our powers and our memories. I remember how to make us our regular size again.” Rain replied as he curled around me snuffling around in my hair affectionately.
I actually had to think about that for a moment. I could remember everything and I knew I had the ability to do many things but I wouldn’t mind being a little bigger. Not by much, though. I liked being my Omega size. It made me feel that much more special to my Mates. “You can change back into your original size but I think I am going to stay small. It makes me feel closer to my boys.” I said with a smile. Thinking of Jax and Jace made my heart hurt a little. I wanted to see them so much.
Rain chuckled and nodded before he began to glow, blinding me as I woke with a start. Like a shock of electricity to my heart had jolted me awake. I sat straight up, hearing machines and metal utensils clatter across the floor.
Rushed movement was heard just on the other side of the door seconds before the lights were thrown on and I was faced with both of my Mates. I smiled at them and reached for their faces, a deep need to touch them both filling me. I had so much to tell them but I felt that I needed to soothe them first.
“I’m ok my loves.” I said softly, more like hoarsely. My voice was so scratchy that only now did I realize that my throat was bone dry. Jax quickly got me some water which I drank greedily from the straw before I repeated my words.
“Little star, you have been unconscious for a week.” Jace informed me, sadness filling his voice as a lone tear made its way down his face.
I looked at them both in total shock. “Excuse me!” I tried to shout.
“You passed out in our room after watching a movie with me. We were going to go get something to eat and when we stood up you passed out on me.” Jace said, moving closer to me. His need to be close to me filling me instantly. The Mate Bond.
“I am so sorry my loves.” I whispered, a soft whine in my voice as I leaned into them. “I didn’t know I had been asleep for so long.” I whimpered, a little heartbroken for leaving them so worried for so long.
“What happened, little one?” Jax asked gruffly. He was trying to hide his tears but I could feel them dripping onto my shoulder and I knew they were both trying to be strong for me but they were really hurt.
I quickly explained everything that happened to me while I was away from them. About the Goddess being my real mother and how Cilla had been with a demon to conceive Kelani and Kinder. How Julius and Gabrial were my true brothers and how my mother had unlocked all my abilities. That she explained they were special too.
They had a difficult time believing that part though. They couldn’t see how they were so special until I had a thought. “You are the Mates to a Celestial Being. A Divine Star.” I said aloud, absently.
“What does that mean for the three of us in the end though?” Jace questioned, worry lacing his voice.
We should all have that concern but for some reason I couldn’t be worried about the future. I felt a sense of peace when it came to my future with my Mates. They brought me peace and I knew that our lives would be just that.
“I don’t know but I intend to find out with both of you.” I said seriously, trying to get Rain to quiet himself in my head. He was pacing and it was getting annoying.
“What’s wrong little one?” Jax questioned.
“Rain wants out.” I replied softly, scratching the back of my neck.
“Then let him out. We will go for a run, come on.” Jax said as Jace ran from the room to make sure I was cleared to leave with Hayle.
Hayle and Jace came running back into the room and after a quick check Hayle released me into the care of my Mates. The three of us hurried from the house and into the backyard. Jace shifted first, getting me to look at Jax curiously.
“You haven’t shifted for a few months, little one. I want to make sure you are all right while you do so.” Jax said with a slight pink dusting his cheeks as I smiled at him and touched his cheek.
“Thank you.” I said standing on my tip-toes to place a quick kiss on his cheek before stepping away from him to shift into a much larger Rain.
Jax and Jace both gasped in shock and Rain huffed in Wolfish laughter. ‘This is my real size. I am the son of Selene, the Moon Goddess. That comes with power and as such it needs size.’ Rain thought, his voice reaching the twins. They were so happy to hear him but still very shocked to see how much bigger he had become. It was not a normal thing for Omega Wolves to grow like Rain had.
‘But Orion is still his same size,’ Guren thought in curious question.
‘He is too stubborn to want to go to his normal size.’ Rain said huffing in laughter as I scolded him for lying. ‘He says he likes being pint sized. Mostly because of the two of you.’ he tacks on after a few moments of me prodding him.
Jace and Jax chuckle before Jax shifted and the three of us took off into the forest on our first run together, just the three of us. It was so nice. We were playful and loving all at the same time. Lysander and Guren were still watchful, despite the fact that Rain was the same size as they were. I loved the time we got to spend together and wished it had been able to last forever in a state of hazy happiness.
However, somewhere deep inside of me, I knew something was coming. Something dark and it would not stop until it had what it wanted.
