Chapter Chapter Forty-Seven
[Orion’s POV]
I was dreaming of my Mates and I at an amusement park because they had felt like taking me out on a date. We were just about to get funnel cake when I woke in a flash. Something evil pulling me from my wonderful dream. I felt something evil lurking close by and I was getting scared. Son of the Goddess or not I still got scared like my mortal self normally would. I still needed to learn how to control all of my powers in my mortal body and I was having issues with doing that but Rain and I were slowly learning.
Something flashed in the corner of my eye and I knew I had to move. I jumped off the bed just in the nick of time, as two daggers appeared where I had just been. Their blades fully embedded into the mattress where I had just been. They would have ended my life had I been seconds slower.
I backed away, trying to find the closest shadow for me to escape into, as my attacker came from the shadows. It was Cilla and she had a very clear intent to kill in her eyes. She had come for my life finally. She was no longer playing games with me and that was just fine with me. I was not shocked to see her coming for me, I had expected nothing less. To make sure that her mistake was gone forever. I knew in my current Human form I was no match for her and it would take time for me to shift, time that she would not give me. I needed something to distract her long enough so I had a moment to shift. Thinking of my boys and their promises to keep me safe and protected, I threw something at her head before screaming at the top of my lungs as she lunged for me. She snarled at me and slammed into me after dodging what I had thrown at her.
She struck me with the force of a freight train, sending me across the room. I slammed into the wall by the window, sliding down as Jax and Jace came bursting through the door. The tremors from her strike shook my body for a moment but I could take the pain she dished out just not in front of my boys. They had never seen me get hurt before and they were not exactly the best Wolves to piss off. They saw Cilla and where I lay on the floor and Jax lost his mind. He lept toward Cilla, death in his eyes. Cilla yelped and tried to jump out the window, only to be stopped by Jace. They were not going to let her go but neither was I.
Rain had been pacing in my head since she showed up, he wanted to rip her throat out and be done with it. This time I was actually not going to stop him, letting Rain take control of my body as he began shifting. Jace and Jax had distracted Cilla long enough for me to do exactly what I wanted. I was going to let my Wolf have his payback for every time this woman hurt us. For every punch and kick she threw at us, and for every moment she made us feel less than a feeling person.
This woman was done haunting me.
Just as Cilla lunged for Jax, Rain and I hit her. Hard. Tossing her a few feet across the room. Rain was already ripping into her, pulling her apart, before she ever hit the ground, vicious growls and snarls ripping through his maw as the body pieces hit the floor. Rain’s paws landed on the floor smoothly and he just stood there for a moment, staring down at the pieces of Cilla that were staining the floors. He growled lowly, something chilling about his growl, before turning to look at our Mates.
Lysander and Guren faced us and we couldn’t be happier when they came over to make sure that we were all right and to clean the blood off of us. The fact that they had just watch Rain pull apart a full-grown Wolf had not seemed to bother them in the least. It was like they were unphased by our actions. I didn’t want them to get sick though. I could feel the Darkness in Cilla’s blood, it had begun to burn my skin and I was starting to itch from it. I needed to get this crap off of us.
I whimpered a little, ‘Don’t. Her blood is tainted. It’s already starting to burn.’ Rain warned backing up a little so they wouldn’t get any blood on them. It was already hurting me enough; I could only imagine what it would do to my Alphas.
‘Pop said to go clean up, while he has someone come take care of this mess.’ Lysander thought letting me know they had already contacted their father.
My ears laid flat on my head just thinking about the punishment for killing another Pack member. That thought had me a little scared. I might not be able to stay with my boys anymore after this. It was never a good thing and sometimes the attacker was killed along with the victim. However, Cilla was no victim, she had been a monster that I had finally gotten rid of. Having noticed my shift in posture, my boys both looked at me softly. Their eyes filled with understanding.
‘Don’t worry Rain-drop. Cilla was no longer part of this Pack and was attacking you. We were right here to do just that but you beat us to it.’ Guren thought as we went outside, jumping through the open window in our room.
Rain grumbled from the burning blood as he followed behind Lysander and Guren. They were going to go clean up and Rain was the one Lysander and Guren needed to clean. We could feel their need to take care of us burning in their minds and it wasn’t like us to deny them anything.
