Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Audrey looked at Amelia and asked, “Do you think my promise is effective?”
“As long as you promise not to marry Tyler, I will help you with the medical expenses. for that old woman and also resolve the issues with our parents,” Amelia replied.
“Why should I believe you?” Audrey asked skeptically.
Amelia took out her phone from her bag and said, “I can help you with some of the medical expenses for now. After I marry Tyler, I will pay off the rest.”
“So are you doing all this just to marry Tyler?” Audrey asked.
“What else could it be? Do you really think you’re worthy of him?” Amelia sneered.
Audrey smirked. “If I’m not worthy, then are you?”
Amelia’s face turned cold, and she said in a stern voice, “Let me tell you, the marriage between the Griffin family and the Russell family must be between Tyler and me, not
you.”
“As long as Tyler is willing, I have no objections,” Audrey replied, cutting her off. Her tone then changed, containing a hint of warning. “But you have to keep your promise and pay off Grandma’s medical expenses, not a penny less.”
“And you better remember what you just said, Amelia warned, but Audrey ignored her and walked away.
“After we get in, don’t sit next to Tyler. You hear me?” Amelia instructed Audrey as they
walked.
Audrey ignored her and continued walking upstairs.
A little while later, they arrived at Dreamroom No.1 on the upper floor.
The people present were all those who used to be around Tyler. There were also some who used to revolve around Audrey. In any case, they were all a bunch of acquaintances.
Tyler had never been interested in such gatherings, but he came here this day with a certain purpose in mind.
“Tyler, are you really going to marry Audrey?” someone asked, referring to the incident at Grandeur Hotel that had spread among their circle.
It was well known that Audrey and Tyler used to be arch–enemies. Now they were getting married, which was truly unbelievable.

Chapter 5
“What kind of joke is that? How could Tyler marry Audrey?” another person chimed in.
“Yeah, this is no laughing matter,” someone else added. “Don’t you all know that the Griffin family went bankrupt? I heard that they arranged a lot of blind dates for Audrey in order to revive the family’s fortune. Tyler must be one of the prospective suitors chosen by the Griffin family.”
“So are you saying Audrey wants to marry Tyler for money?” someone speculated.
Tyler remained silent in response to their discussions.
The person sitting closest to Tyler handed him a cigarette and asked, “Are you really getting married?”
Tyler took the cigarette and replied calmly, “Yes, I am.”
“Have you forgotten what she did to you in the past?”
“The Griffin family went bankrupt, and now she’s in a desperate situation. Marrying her is not helping her, but humiliating her.” Tyler held the cigarette between his fingers. “Isn’t this a more interesting way to take my revenge on her?”
“Do you think it’s interesting? Sacrificing the rest of your life just to get back at her? Is that interesting?” the person asked.
Tyler smiled and said, “You don’t understand.”
The door to the private room was pushed open after he finished speaking. Everyone turned their heads to look.
Tyler had just mentioned that Audrey would be coming soon, so they were all eagerly waiting to see what would happen.
However, the first person to enter was not Audrey, but Amelia..
These people were familiar with Audrey and Amelia.
“Long time no see, guys,” Amelia greeted the familiar people as soon as she entered the
room.
Compared to Audrey, who used to act superior and look down on everyone before her family went bankrupt, this group of people liked Amelia more because she was down- to–earth and seemed easier to get along with.
“Amelia, come sit over here.”
“No, I’ll sit with my sister.” Amelia reached out and pulled Audrey, who had just entered the private room. “We’re here to find Tyler.”

Amelia led Audrey straight toward Tyler. However, there was only one empty seat next
to him.
Amelia went over and sat down. saying, ‘Oh. Audrey. I’m sorry, but there’s only one seat left.”
“If you don’t mind sitting with us.” someone suggested ‘you can sit with us, Miss Griffin.”
Audrey nodded and confidently walked over to sit down.
Throughout the whole time, Audrey didn’t even glance at Tyler. From the moment she entered and saw the room full of people, she already knew what was going on. Most of them were there to see her embarrassed. She knew that Tyler was still the same Tyler. Nothing had changed, but he had acted differently in front of his parents.
Griffin, we’ve heard about y
family’s situation. If you need us to help, we’re
willing to lend a hand,” someone offered.
“Yeah, as long as you ask us for help, we’ll all be there to support you,” another person chimed in.
Audrey’s expression remained indifferent as she said. “No need” She knew exactly what these people were up to.
Tyler leaned lazily against the side, looking at Audrey, who was surrounded by a group of men. The look in his eyes was dark and inscrutable.
In the past. Audrey was considered an untouchable woman in their eyes. someone to be admired from afar, someone unattainable. She always looked so arrogant, not allowing anyone to get close to her.
Now, however, she was being surrounded by these people, subjected to their mocking and offensive remarks. but she didn’t dare to show any signs of anger. She even accepted all the offered drinks without hesitation.
“Does your sister have a good tolerance for alcohol?” Tyler turned to Amelia and asked.
Amelia glanced to the side, replying, “She used to come home late after drinking until the early hours of the morning. She’s an alcoholic.”
“Indeed, Miss Griffin lives up to her reputation.” The person sitting next to Tyler stood up. “I’ll go have a few drinks with Miss Griffin.”
Tyler also stood up. “Yeah, let me join you guys.”
Tyler, would you like to join Miss Griffin for a drink?”

Some people enjoyed watching the excitement and causing trouble. When Tyler approached, someone offered him a seat.
When Audrey saw Tyler, she choked on her drink before swallowing it. She poured a drink herself and handed it to Tyler. “Care for a drink?”
Tyler took the glass from Audrey. “Is this how you usually drink? It’s a bit boring, isn’t
it?”
“How would you like to drink then?”
Tyler twirled the glass in his hand. “Let’s try something different.”
Everyone present wanted to see some excitement, so they came up with various ideas.
“Wait, wasn’t it supposed to be Tyler and Miss Griffin drinking? How did all the drinks. end up in our stomachs?”
Some people only realized that after having a few drinks.
Tyler glanced at the person who spoke with disdain. “Stop blaming others for your lack of skills.”
With that, he filled the person’s glass. “Three glasses more. Drink them up.”
This person had been disrespectful to Audrey earlier, so Tyler made him lose three. rounds in a row.
Anyone who had mocked Audrey or used foul language earlier didn’t escape
punishment.
Audrey didn’t take another sip because she had narrowly won each time.
Even Amelia wasn’t able to escape punishment.
In the end, only Tyler and Audrey remained sober.
Looking at the group of people stumbling around, Tyler poured two glasses of wine. and handed one to Audrey. “Don’t overthink it. I prefer taking revenge myself.”
Audrey seemed to understand the meaning behind his words but also seemed a little. confused. However, she noticed that Tyler had gone easy on her earlier. She took the glass of wine and lightly clinked it with his.
“Shall I give you a ride home?” he asked.
“Do you want to drink and drive?” Audrey looked at him, pointing to the glass he still hadn’t put down.
