Chapter Making 575

Chapter 575

The Dragon Spring River is one of the hundreds of rivers in the Dragonspire Mountains.

This river is not the largest or longest in the Dragonspire Mountains. It can be described as neither big nor small, neither long nor short.

It meanders through the central part of the Dragonspire Mountains, spanning over 30 miles.

Beneath the moonlight, Crimson, White, and the dozen other sect masters, along with over a dozen sect martialists, were flying westward along the Dragon Spring River that had suddenly changed its course.

For these top–notch martialists, who were either Martial Kings or Grandmasters, flying across several hundred yards of river was no real challenge.

However, before Crimson and his group could trace the Dragon Spring River back to its source, they stumbled upont something truly extraordinary.

The Dragon Spring River, now flowing west, suddenly ceased to flow about 30 miles from its source area.

The reason for this stoppage was even more unbelievable.

A colossal sinkhole, spanning several hundred yards, appeared right at the point where the river stopped.

This sinkhole emerged in the middle of the river under the moonlight.

As a result, both sides of the Dragon Spring River, whether coming from the east or the west, were all being drawn into this

sinkhole.

On the cliffs at the sides of the sinkhole, two massive waterfalls, each stretching out for several tens of feet, tumbled down. The thunderous sound of the waterfalls was earth–shaking.

The rushing waterfalls sparkled with white splashes under the moonlight.

The sinkhole into which the waterfalls poured was unfathomably deep, and it seemed to stretch into eternity.

Not even the bright moonlight from above could penetrate the sinkhole’s depths, creating an eerie atmosphere as if it led straight to the underworld.

Crimson, White, and the dozen other sect masters, all wore expressions of surprise.

“This doesn’t make sense! When did this colossal sinkhole appear here?” one of the sect masters murmured.

The rest of the sect masters chimed in, “Yeah, when did this sinkhole show up?”

“Regardless of the direction the Dragon Spring River is flowing, all the water pours into the sinkhole. No wonder the river’s flow suddenly changed from east to west.”

Crimson took out the Dragonspire Ruins Map and examined it closely.

After a moment, he looked at the other sect masters and said, “It looks like this is the way into the Dragonspire Ruins, just like the Dragonspire Ruins Map shows.”

White and the other sect masters couldn’t help but be surprised asking, “We’re entering the Dragonspire Ruins from here?” Crimson nodded solemnly and answered, “If you don’t believe it you can take a look at the map.”

White and the rest of the sect masters immediately flew over.

They huddled around Crimson, their eyes glued to the Dragonspire Ruins Map.

Then, on the Dragonspire Ruins Map, they saw the red line on the map, representing the winding Dragon Spring River, stopping at a black circle.

And the red line passed through the black circle, entering the area of the Dragonspire Ruins.

Comparing this to the colossal sinkhole before them, Crimson, White, and the other sect masters easily figured out that the black circle on the map represented the sinkhole.

They now trusted Crimson’s words that the sinkhole was the entrance to the Dragonspire Ruins.

But how could a cultivation sanctuary like the Dragonspire Ruins, dating back thousands of years, be hidden within such a deep sinkhole?

This was a mystery they couldn’t quite grasp.

But based on what the Dragonspire Ruins Map revealed, the Dragonspire Ruins was right inside that sinkhole, so Crimson and the gang had no plans to call it quits and leave.

Crimson turned to the other sect masters and said, “Since the Dragonspire Ruins is right in that sinkhole, let’s head down and see what’s what.”

White and the others nodded in agreement.

Next, Crimson, White, and a bunch of sect masters, along with hundreds of their martialists, descended into that colossal sinkhole.

While they had anticipated the sinkhole’s depth, upon entering, they realized it was even deeper than they had imagined. They flew straight down for several tens of feet, and there still seemed to be no sign of reaching the bottom.

After descending several tens of feet, the moonlight could no longer penetrate, and the sinkhole was shrouded in an impenetrable darkness.

The invisible darkness weighed on everyone, making them feel strangely on edge.

However, despite the profound darkness within the sinkhole, Crimson and the other sect masters, along with their sect martialists, possessed formidable abilities and could see as if it were daylight in the dark.

So, they continued to fly deeper into the abyss, descending into the unfathomable depths of the sinkhole, not knowing just how long or how far they had flown.

They kept on flying deeper into the sinkhole, and at some point they couldn’t even tell how long they’d been descending. Then an eerie presence started creeping up from the depths of the dark sinkhole.

This presence was scorching hot and carried a palpable sense of danger.

Crimson immediately signaled all the other sect masters and the martialists to halt.

They hung there in the pitch–black sinkhole, wrapped up in that silvery Martial King mana or Grandmaster internal mana, with their robes and hair billowing like they were celestial beings

Yet, their expressions were grave.

They were plunging into this unknown sinkhole, and nobody had a clue about the kind of danger that might be lurking

down there. So, they couldn’t afford to let their guard down.

At this moment, the other sect masters turned to Crimson and asked, “Mr. Sunglow, why are we stopping? Something

wrong?

Crimson nodded with solemnity and said, “The scorching heat rising from below is quite strange, almost like the signs of an impending volcano.”

Of course the other sect masters and all the sect martialists felt that eerie heat from down below as well.

They all wanted to know what this heat was too.

And now that they’d heard Crimson’s words, their faces showed surprise.

If what Crimson said is true, and the scorching heat emanating from the depths of the sinkhole is a sign of an impending volcanic eruption, then even though they are Martial Kings and Grandmasters, they would have no chance against the terrifying power of a volcanic eruption.

Their bodies weren’t invulnerable to withstand temperatures of thousands of degrees,

After all, they were warriors, not immortal beings.

So, if there was a volcanic eruption down in the sinkhole, they would have to evacuate quickly, or their lives would be in grave danger.

White looked all uneasy and asked Crimson, “Mr. Sunglow, if there’s a volcanic eruption going on down there, none of us are getting out alive.

“What should we do now?”

Crimson frowned for a sec, and then said, “Look, the Dragonspire Ruins Map says the Dragonspire Ruins is around here. So, even if we’ve got to dance with a volcanic devil, we should explore further.

“Otherwise, we’re going to kick ourselves later if we bail out now.

White and the other sect masters fell into contemplative silence

They had all come in the hopes of discovering the Dragonspire Ruins,

If they turned back now, it would undoubtedly be a disappointment they would remember for a lifelong time.

So White spoke up. “Alright, no matter what’s down there, we’ve got to see this through.

“We won’t leave without finding the Dragonspire Ruins today!”

The other sect masters were equally fired up, shouting. That’s right! We’re hunting down the Dragonspire Ruins today, no matter what!”

Then the sect masters, along with their sect martialists, dove back into the depths of the bottomless sinkhole.

After descending about three hundred feet, Crimson and the gang suddenly felt a deafening rumble from below.

It was as if the very air in the sinkhole had been stirred into a frenzy.

Then, a horrifying gust of air surged up from the depths of the sinkhole.

This airflow resembled a supercharged hurricane, carrying scorching heat akin to a steel furnace being stoked. A terrifying tempest!

A scorching onslaught!

The hundreds of Grandmasters from various sects, imbued with Grandmaster internal mana, couldn’t withstand this scorching assault. Their bodies were seared, and they cried out in

agony.

And as for the monstrous storm that swept through everything, it immediately lifted the several hundreds of Grandmasters and martialists and sent them flying out of the sinkhole.

The hundreds of Grandmasters, like leaves in a fierce wind, were blown out of the sinkhole by this terrifying storm.

Only Crimson, White, and the dozen other sect masters, who also possessed Martial King power, managed to barely hold their ground against the terrifying storm surging from the depths of the sinkhole and the scorching heat by pushing their Martial King mana to the limit,

They managed to survive, but the sight of the hundreds of Grandmasters they had brought along, burnt and covered in blood, and then swept out of the sinkhole by the storm, was an unforgettable image etched into their minds.

The shock they felt remained indescribable, and they couldn’t calm down for a long time.
