Chapter Making 574

Chapter 574

Two days later, in Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect…

Gilmore was seated in the villa’s living room, having coffee and chatting with Emma, Christine, Yolanda, and Daphne. Laughter filled the room, creating a cheerful atmosphere.

Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed, and two figures entered through the main door.

Gilmore and his companions turned their gaze to see Leland and Darius.

“We’ve come to send greetings to Mr. Reed, the two of them said in unison, offering a respectful salute to Gilmore.

Gilmore replied to the two vice sect masters, “No need for such formalities.”

In fact, he had already told them that there was no need for such strict etiquette, even in private. They could call him by his first name.

However, Leland and Darius had never followed this particular order.

Whether in public or private, they remained formal and addressed Gilmore as “Mr. Reed“,

It was something Gilmore had come to accept.

Gilmore said to the two vice sect masters, “Gentlemen, take a seat, please.”

Leland and Darius had come to see him with some important news to report.

Without delay, the two of them took a seat in the chairs.

Gilmore had Emma make two cups of coffee for Darius and her father, Leland.

Gilmore addressed the two vice sect masters, Leland and Darius. Gentlemen, please have some coffee. We can discuss matters after that.”

Leland and Darius raised their cups and took a sip..

Then, Leland said, “Mr. Reed, we’ve come to report something important.”

“Please go on, Mr. Gardner.”

“Mr. Reed, you instructed us two days ago to send some martialists to keep an eye on several sects, including the Red Flame Sect and the Kylin Sect

“Have there been any developments?”

“Yes, Mr. Reed. These sects had indeed shown some new activities on our radar.

Leland wore a serious expression as he continued, “Last night, the sect masters of these sects held a secret meeting at the Red Flame Sect. And just now, we received more information.

The sect masters of over a dozen sects, along with martialists from their sects, have set out to search for the Dragonspire

Ruins”

Gilmore nodded. “It seems they’ve gone to search for the ruins without any intention of inviting me along

“Mr. Reed, as you predicted, Crimson and his gang are nothing but opportunists. Even though you handed them the Dragonspire Ruins Map, they wouldn’t genuinely befriend you. Darius said with a hint of anger.

Gilmore remained calm and responded, “Whether Crimson and the others consider me a friend or not, I don’t know and

don’t care.

“Because I don’t see them as friends either. I just want them to play the role of our bait to check the path to the Dragonspire Ruin so we won’t be in any danger when we go.”

Leland and Darius nodded in agreement.

“Gentlemen, please select four or five powerful martialists from Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect immediately, and we’ll set off for the Dragonspire Ruins.”

“Understood, Mr. Reed, Leland and Darius replied to him in unison as they got up from their chairs.

In the nighttime, a full moon graced the sky above the Dragonspire Mountains, shining exceptionally brightly.

Its gentle light bathed the countless peaks and valleys of the mountain range, making the Dragonspire Mountains under the moonlight appear majestic and incredibly picturesque.

At this moment, a procession of several hundred people was making its way atop one of the peaks, led by none other than Crimson, White, and a dozen other sect masters.

They had assembled at the Red Flame Sect last night and, after a secret discussion, had decided to embark on a quest to find the Dragonspire Ruins together.

However, they hadn’t informed Gilmore of their plan of searching for the ruins.

The reason for keeping him in the dark was straightforward.

Gilmore’s martial arts abilities already surpassed all of theirs.

So if he joined them in finding the Dragonspire Ruins and obtained treasures like cultivation manuals and spiritual weapons, his martial arts would grow even stronger.

That was precisely why they were even more determined to keep him from getting his hands on any cultivators‘ treasures in the Dragonspire Ruins.

Otherwise, they knew they’d never be able to match his

power.

And they didn’t want to stay in his shadow forever.

They all hoped to find cultivation treasures in the Dragonspire Ruins that would boost their power or even allow them to become cultivators, so they could seek revenge on him.

Despite Gilmore’s extraordinary mercy, sparing their lives and even giving them the Dragonspire Ruins Map, Crimson, White, and the others all had a burning desire to see him meet his demise.

After all, they had not forgotten the humiliation they suffered two days ago when they were utterly defeated by Gilmore in the battle at the Phoenix Sect

Under the moonlight, standing atop a mountain peak, Crimson, White, and their group gazed at a river winding through the

mountains below.

“Gentlemen, this river down below is the only path leading to the Dragonspire Ruins,” Crimson said to the other sect masters. He opened the Dragonspire Ruins Map with both hands and pointed to a red line on the map.

The red line represented the meandering river between the peaks.

White and the other sect masters nodded in

agreement.

White declared. “Then let’s descend the mountain and follow this river to search for the Dragonspire Ruins”

Then the dozen sect masters, along with their sect martialists, flew down from the mountain.

In the moonlight, they resembled a flock of soaring eagles, descending to the riverbanks.

When they reached the river’s edge at the base of the mountain, they paused.

They observed the river under the moonlight, its waters flowing gently.

Suddenly, Crimson’s gaze sharpened as if he had noticed something unusual. He looked at White and the other sect masters, frowning and saying, “Have any of you noticed anything peculiar about this river?”

“Peculiar?” White and the other sect masters wore puzzled expressions.

Then, their eyes were drawn to the river’s surface.

They all replied. “Mr. Sunglow, we don’t see anything peculiar about this river.”

Crimson pointed at the river and explained, “Don’t you see it? This river isn’t flowing east, it’s flowing west.”

With Crimson’s revelation, White and the other sect masters suddenly grasped that the moonlit river was, in fact, flowing to the west instead of the east.

White’s expression took on an eerie tinge as he commented, “That’s strange. I know about this river.

It was known as the Dragon Spring River, and it has always flowed eastward towards the Dragonspire Mountains. Why has it suddenly changed direction to the west? This is really strange.”

As White’s words settled, the other sect masters chimed in with curiosity. “You’re right, the Dragon Spring River has always flowed eastward. What could have caused this sudden change?”

“What on earth is going on?”

The sect masters couldn’t conceal their surprise when they stumbled upon this natural anomaly that defied the laws of

nature.

If not for their power as Martial Kings and the presence of hundreds of martialists, the abrupt change of the river’s direction from its usual eastward flow to the west would have sent shivers down their spines.

Crimson’s eyes gleamed with determination as he said, “The Dragon Spring River, which typically flows eastward, has now reversed its course to the west. This strange change is definitely related to the Dragonspire Ruins.

“According to the route indicated on the Dragonspire Ruins Map, we should follow the Dragon Spring River westward to

reach our destination.”

“Could it be that the Dragon Spring River’s westward flow is guiding us to the Dragonspire Ruins?” White’s face lit up with

excitement

The other sect masters found White’s reasoning convincing and nodded in agreement, saying, “Mr. Bates makes a valid point”

The Dragon Spring River has indeed shown us the way to the Dragonspire Ruins.”

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s follow this river westward to find the Dragonspire Ruins.”

With these words, the sect masters led their sect martialists, flying away from the riverbank like a flock of eagles, skimming above the river’s surface as they ventured westward.
