Chapter Making 559

Chapter 559

The night had deepened, and a sliver of a waning moon hung above the azure ex

Within the opulent palaces and pavilions of Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect, silence reigned, broken only by the gentle flicker of light and the watchful presence of the martialists on duty.

At this very moment, a shadowy figure, ghostlike in appearance, darted forth and vanished from the palaces of Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect.

Astonishingly, the vigilant martialists stationed there remained completely oblivious to this enigmatic departure from the palaces.

This ghostlike figure, after escaping from the palaces of the sect raced beneath the faint moonlight, heading straight for the rear mountainside beyond the Phoenix Sect.

The rear mountainside behind the Phoenix Sect was a sheer precipice.

Whoosh!”

The figure handed just before the precipice.

In the moonlight, one could make out a cloaked and masked individual.

This shadowy figure was none other than Gilmore Reed, Master of the Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect.

Cloaked in black attire and concealed behind a mask, he had ventured away from the sect in the dead of night, making his way to the rear mountain’s precipice.

His sole destination was the rear mountain’s Thousand–Foot Frigid Abyss.

The Thousand–Foot Frigid Abyss was situated directly below the ten–thousand–foot precipice.

Beneath the precipice, a light mist wafted lazily, and within the abyss lay an enormous frigid abyss.

Under the waning moon, beneath the precipice, the water of the enormous frigid abyss appeared eerie and bluish, sending, shivers down the spine of anyone who beheld it.

Gore’s mission on the rear mountainside was to retrieve the Secret Map from the depths of this frigid abyss.

“Whoosh!”

At that very moment, his silhouette could be seen leaping from the precipice’s edge, displaying graceful and agile

movements.

He resembled a soaring eagle, descending swiftly toward the frigid abyss below.

“Shpsh

A resounding splash echoed as he dove into the frigid abyss.

With swift and determined strokes, he headed for the bottom of the abyss.

Although the water was dim and murky, he possessed a unique ability, his God’s Eye, which turned night into day and allowed him to see clearly in the dark water.

Deeper and deeper he swam.

Ten feet, dozens of feet, a hundred feet….

As he descended, he encountered fishes swimming alongside him, as well as adorable turtles with a peculiar and yet agile

grace.

He continued his descent toward the depths of the thousand–fost abyss.

At the bottom of the abyss, Gilmore, moving like a fish, arrived before a massive boulder.

This boulder was easily six to ten feet tall, round like a large stone ball, and weighed at least several thousand pounds.

On the surface of the boulder, Gilmore noticed a groove in which a gold casket lay.

It appeared just as he had seen earlier through his God’s Eye.

However, he didn’t immediately retrieve the gold casket from the groove in the boulder.

He swam away from the boulder with the gold casket embedded in it, heading for another boulder several feet away.

This second boulder was much smaller than the one with the gold casket embedded. It was only about 40 inches in height and weighed around one to one–and–a–half tons.

Hidden within this boulder, near its center, was a jade casket containing the real Secret Map.

After approaching this boulder, he crouched down, extended his right hand, and effortlessly grasped its base.

Underwater, he applied a gentle force, effortlessly lifting the thousands–of–pounds boulder with his hand

Such an astounding feat, if witnessed by outsiders, would undoubtedly leave them utterly astounded.

It’s important to note that only a rare few individuals possessed the capability to dive to the depths of a thousand–foot abyss

Most people would be deterred by the looming threat of oxygen depletion in such profound waters.

Not to mention the act of Gilmore, nonchalantly raising a massive boulder underwater with a single hand.

To others, this would appear as nothing short of an incredible legend.

However, for Gilmore, it was a mere walk in the park.

And thus, he, with a single hand, raised the heavy boulder and swiftly ascended towards the surface of the water.

In a matter of moments, with the boulder in hand, he emerged from the water, creating a spray of splashing waves.

“Whoosh!”

Gilmore held the boulder with one hand and landed gracefully at the edge of the frigid abyss.
