Chapter Making 556

Chapter 556

At dusk, a slanting ray of sunset light fell upon the Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect, a castle–like structure with a solemn and lifeless appearance.

This castle–like building was indeed the dungeon of the former Phoenix Sect. Above its entrance hung a plaque with the blood–red word “Dungeon.”

Indeed, this was the location of the former Phoenix Sect’s dungeon.

Guarding the entrance on both sides were four sword–wielding martialists, all once members of the Phoenix Sect

However, now imprisoned within this dungeon were the four major sect masters – Jordan, Elijah, Alexander, and Bentley

For the guards at the dungeon’s gates, the identity of the prisoners, whether they were former sect masters of the Phoenix Sect or other sects, had ceased to be of significance,

The Phoenix Sect and the other three major sects had been absorbed into the Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect.

The fact that these sect masters were now inmates was just a memory for the guards, who harbored no nostalgia for the past.

Life moves on, and so must they

Even when the four sect masters were at the pinnacle of power, and their sects still existed, these guards had to live a life. They were ordinary people, and the fate of someone like Jordana high–profile figure, didn’t significantly impact their lives. Just as they did when Jordan was the sect master of the Phoenix Sect, these guards were tasked with overseeing the dungeon. Now that the Phoenix Sect had ceased to exist, merging into the Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect, their duty remained the same. Thus, the plight of Jordan and the other three sect masters didnt really concern them, and their attitude was somewhat

indifferent

The sound of footsteps broke the silence. Darius arrived at the dungeon entrance, flanked by several martialists of the Sunsbury’s Dragon Sect and accompanied by Cedric and three other young masters.

On seeing Darius, the guards stationed at the dungeon door immediately showed a respectful demeanor, bowing and calling out, “Mr. Abbott, you’ve arrived

Their respect for Darius was not without reason.

Besides Darius now being highly valued by Gilmore and appointed as the vice sect master, his unwavering loyalty and integrity within the Phoenix Sect had earned him widespread respect.

Darius nodded at the guards stationed at the dungeon. “By Mr. Reed’s order, I, along with the four young masters, have come to the dungeon for an urgent matter concerning Jordan and the other three sect leaders,” he said.

The guards immediately responded with politeness, “Mr. Abbott please come in!”

While they showed respect and politeness to Darius, they seemed to blatantly ignore Cedric and the other three young

masters

This was not only because the four major sects were now a thing of the past but also due to the young masters‘ arrogant demeanor, often looking down on the common martialists of the Phoenix Sect.

Darius, Cedric, and their entourage entered the dungeon

Walking through a long, dimly lit corridor, they eventually reached the underground stone chamber.

The iron door, secured with a special lock made of millennium–old black iron, stood firmly closed.

Darius instructed one of the martialists to unlock it, and they opened the tightly shut door.

The door of the stone chamber opened, and Darius and the others walked in.

In the stone chamber, Jordan and the other three sect masters, who were resting with closed eyes, along with Jerome and the other two realm masters, burdened with heavy thoughts, couldn’t help but look up at the newcomers.

Upon seeing Darius, a look of anger crossed the faces of Jordan and the other sect masters.

This traitor to the Phoenix Sect had already visited them before

What did he want now?

However, their expressions turned ambiguous, mixed with anger and perhaps joy, when they saw Cedric and the other three

young masters enter,

“Father!” called out Cedric and the other young masters as they walked into the stone chamber, feeling awkward at seeing their fathers with such displeased expressions.

Jordan and the other sect masters snorted in dissatisfaction.

Jordan, looking at his son Cedric, asked, “Haven’t you already surrendered and sworn loyalty to Gilmore? Why come to see

me here?”

Cedric spoke up, “Father, I’ve come to discuss something important with you.”

Jordan replied coldly, “What is it? You’re not here to persuade me to surrender to Gilmore, are you?”

Darius, standing aside, interjected, “Jordan, Mr. Reed isn’t interested in whether you surrender or not. The four young masters are here because Gilmore wants information about the Secret Map.

Jordan and the other three sect masters showed signs of surprise, then turned their intense gaze towards their sons.

Cedric and the other three young masters, feeling guilty, lowered their heads.

Jordan asked Cedric directly, “You’re here to inquire about the Secret Map?

Cedric nodded truthfully.

Elijah, Alexander, and Bentley, the other three sect masters, also looked towards their sons and asked, “Are you here for the same reason?”

Wyatt and the other two young masters could only nod in response.

They knew admitting their purpose to inquire about the Secret Map – would anger thoir fathers

But Cedric and his companions had no choice.

The thought of how Gilmore might deal with them if they failed this task was too frightening to contemplate.

Although Cedric and the other sect masters were filled with unquenchable anger, they understood that their sons had no other option, as their lives were still in Gilmore’s hands.

Cedric’s expression gradually softened, and then he turned to Darius, “The matter of the Secret Map is a confidential affair of our four major sects, and I cannot permit outsiders to know about it.

“Please leave the stone chamber with those who are not involved, and then I will discuss the Secret Map with my son.”

Darius knew the matter of the Secret Map was indeed a closely guarded secret of the four major sects. Even Cedric and the other young masters were unaware of it.

Since it was Gilmore who wanted to know about the Secret Map Darius realized there were some things better left

unknown.

To avoid any appearance of impropriety, he knew he should excuse himself from this matter.

So, Darius subtly signaled a few martialists, and then they left the stone chamber, closing the heavy steel door behind them.

The massive black iron lock clanged back into place on the door

Darius and his companions exited through the dungeon corridor.

Inside the stone chamber, Cedric and the three other young masters turned their attention to Jerome and two other realm

masters, who were in a corner of the room

Seeing the gazes of Cedric and his peers directed their way. Jerome and his companions had a sinking feeling.

They knew that Cedric, along with Jordan and the other sect masters, were about to discuss the s

secrets of the Secret Map.

Their presence in the chamber undoubtedly made it awkward for Cedric and the others to speak freely.

Worried that Cedric and the young masters might take offense or act unfavorably towards them, Jerome put on a face mixed with apprehension and eagerness to please.

He addressed Cedric and the others, “Please, feel free to discuss your matters.

“We absolutely won’t eavesdrop on your conversation. We know our place.”

After saying this, Jerome dramatically covered his ears with his hands.

It was a clear signal to Cedric and the others – he was showing that he wouldn’t and couldn’t hear their conversation.

He wanted to reassure them that they could speak freely without worrying about being overheard.

Phil and Chester quickly followed suit, covering their ears and assuring Cedric and the young masters, Jerome is right.

“We’ll cover our ears tightly. Whatever you discuss, we won’t hear a thing.”

However, Cedric and the other three young masters weren’t so easily fooled. After hearing Jerome’s words, Cedric’s lips curled into a chilling smile. “Covering your ears with your hands might not guarantee that you won’t hear us.

“But what if we knock you out? Then you definitely won’t hear a thing, right?”

With that, Cedric gave a signal to the other three young masters

They began to approach Jerome and his two companions menacingly.

The color drained from Jerome’s face and the other two realm masters, they knew that Cedric and his group wouldn’t rest until they were unconscious.

Inside, they were a mix of anger, panic, and mostly helplessness.

Cedric and his group advanced with a fierce glint in their eyes.

Soon, the stone chamber echoed with the pained screams of Jerome and his companions. Aahh!”

Lying on the groun

Jerome and the others had twisted necks, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.

Their eyes were wide open in terror, a look of disbelief frozen on their faces.

Yes, they had been brutally killed by Cedric and his group.

Apart from not wanting these men to overhear the secrets of the Secret Map, the young masters had another reason for their ruthless action.

For the past few days, they had been humiliated and belittled in front of Gilmore, swallowing their pride and accumulating frustration with nowhere to vent it.

It all came pouring out onto Jerome and his associates.

After eliminating Jerome and his companions, Cedric and the others felt a sense of relief, as if they had finally released the pent–up anger of the past few days.

Jerome and his colleagues, on the other hand, never imagined they would meet their end not at the hands of Gilmore or Leland, but rather at the hands of Cedric and his group.

Their deaths were tragically unjust
