Chapter Making 547

Chapter 547

Cedric and his group lay sprawled on the ground, their mouths bloody, suffering unbearable pain, yet unable to stand up.

For them, this was akin to tasting the torments of hell.

Gilmore, along with Emma, Christine, Yolanda, and Daphine, stepped out of the attic.

Approaching Cedric, Gilmore asked, “What’s it going to be? Still in the mood for a fight?”

Cedric, in agony, lifted his head. His eyes, bloodshot, glimmered with hatred.

Blood oozed from his mouth, and he looked as though he wanted to kill Gilmore.

“You dare hurt me? Just wait until our father returns. He’ll definitely kill you!

Cedric’s threat to bring his father and the four major sect masters into the picture stemmed from his knowledge of their

power.

Even in the Dragonspire Mountains, the four major sects were among the strongest.

Cedric believed that even if Gilmore was strong, he would think twice before taking on the collective might of these four major sects.

To mess with him and the other young masters meant contemplating the terrifying reprisal that would come from these -powerful sects.

However, Cedric’s threat didn’t instill fear in Gilmore; instead, it made him laugh–a genuine, heartfelt laugh that made Cedric feel like a fool and seemed utterly ridiculous to Gilmore.

Annoyed, Cedric snapped, “What are you laughing at? Do you really think you alone can withstand a united assault from the four major sect masters?”

In response, Gilmore delivered a resounding and crisp slap to Cedric’s face.

Smack!

Cedric’s already swollen face, which resembled a steamed bun, now sported a bright red handprint.

The pain was so intense it was as if he was oscillating between life and death.

This time, Cedric learned his lesson and dared not act arrogantly or haughtily anymore.

Given the fear of another resounding slap from Gilmore, Cedric no longer dared to speak, enduring the pain.

The other three young masters were equally silent, like frightened cicadas.

Seeing Cedric finally subdued, Gilmore spoke up, “Not talking anymore? If you’re silent, then I’ll do the talking.”

His gaze shifted from Cedric to the other three young masters as he continued, “Today, you tried to poison my coffee. If I hadn’t had the antidote on me, I might have been poisoned to death by now, my fate hanging by a thread.”

Shock flickered in the eyes of Cedric and the others.

Cedric, in particular, hadn’t expected Gilmore to actually have the antidote to the ‘Slumber Drink‘ as he had suspected.

Emma and her companions were equally astonished.

They finally understood why Gilmore had hastily drunk all their coffee in the attic it was poisoned.

Gilmore’s actions were to protect them, which warmed their hearts unexpectedly.

Of course, what they didn’t know was that Gilmore didn’t really have any antidote to the ‘Slumber Drink

He had foreseen Cedric’s scheme through God’s Eye.

To avoid raising suspicion, he pretended to have the antidote.

Facing a stunned Cedric, Gilmore continued, “Cedric, now I have just one question for you and your companions.”

At this. Gilmore glanced at the other three young masters, instilling a sense of ominous foreboding in the four of them.

Cedric, gathering his courage, asked, “What… what do you want to ask?”

“I want you to surrender to me now and swear your loyalty, Gilinore stated, each word deliberate and clear.

The eyes of Cedric and his group widened in disbelief.

They couldn’t fathom that Gilmore was actually demanding their surrender and loyalty.

Having them work under Gilmore?

The very thought struck them as a profound humiliation..

Naturally, they were reluctant to become Gilmore’s subordinates

But they also knew that if they refused, Gilmore might kill them without mercy right then and there.

The four young masters exchanged glances, each one’s eyes reflecting complex emotions.

“What, you don’t agree? Then I won’t force you,” Gilmore said, a curve forming on his lips.

He raised his right hand, and the air around them seemed to tremble. A fierce, flame–like energy appeared in his palm.

As this energy manifested, Cedric and the others felt an overpowering aura that left them breathless.

They could easily imagine that a single strike from Gilmore would be fatal.

Seeing the fear on their faces, Gilmore continued, “I always make a clear distinction between friends and enemies. I repay kindness with kindness, and hostility with hostility.

“You tried to harm me, so naturally, I won’t be lenient with you

As he finished speaking, Gilmore slowly raised his hand, as if about to unleash the swirling energy onto Cedric and his companions

Already scared out of their wits, the four young masters immediately cried out, “Mr. Reed, please don’t kill us!”

“We surrender!”

We surrender!”

Their high–pitched screants were followed by Gilmore promptly withdrawing the swirling anima in his hand.

Then, with a flick of his fingers, he shot out streams of anima, striking the sealed trigger points on each of the four young

masters.

As they slowly stood up, free from the seal, they glanced warily at Gilmore and, with a bow, said, “Thank you, Mr. Reed, for releasing us.”

However, no sooner had they spoken than their faces twisted in sudden agony. Frowning in pain, they let out sharp cries, “Abhi—

Their faces were etched with the kind of agony you’d expect to see in a hellish torment, their screams piercing the air.

It took a full minute before the four young masters finally ceased their cries.

Their faces were ashen, their foreheads beaded with sweat as large as peas, as if they had just endured a life–or–death torture.

Gilmore looked at them and said, “Just now, you all got a taste of what it feels like to be on the brink of death and hell. Yes, when I unsealed your trigger points, I also infused an extremely cold internal mana into them.

“The internal mana I planted in your trigger points can only be removed by me. If you truly pledge your loyalty to me. I’ll remove this internal mana in three months.

“Otherwise, if it’s not removed after three months, you’ll bleed from all orifices and die.”

Upon hearing this, Cedric and the other young masters were petrified.

They immediately said to Gilmore, “Mr. Reed, we swear our loyalty to you and will follow your orders!

“If we don’t stay loyal to you and disobey your commands, we are prepared to die.”

As the young masters of the four major sects, none of them wanted to die.

So, they quickly chose to surrender and pledge their loyalty.

Initially, their submission to Gilmore was a mere act to save their lives.

But now, they genuinely didn’t dare to rebel and became like slayes to Gilmore, bound by obedience and loyalty, knowing full well that Gilmore held their lives in his hands.

Just then, the sound of footsteps approached rapidly.

Hundreds of martialists from the Phoenix Sect were seen converging towards the attic’s courtyard at breakneck speed.

Clearly, the commotion Gilmore caused earlier in the attic, along with the howls of Cedric and the others, had alerted the entire Phoenix Sect.

As a result, all the martialists of the sect were swiftly heading towards this attic.
